    Bump to the top.

Locals, Expo needs volunteers to help get the machines up and running. I would be there every weekend if I was a local ... However 10,000 miles is a little too far ...

This venue has the potential to be the best pinball venue in THE WORLD .. It's already one of the biggest ... So help the guys out and volunteer a day of your time to help clean/rerubber/repair some pins.

Send Nimblepin A PM and he can let you know how you can help.

    Nice one.

    Dave.

    Quoted from Buzz:

I'm off work till the 4th. I would love to help, but I am not a tech. I can clean do lights and rubbers if needed. Or be someone's helper. If someone can point me in the right direction I could accomplish something. Not very knowledgeable yet, but I am a highly skilled lineman who keeps the lights on for all of us. You already have my email, let me know if I can help.

Good on you. They need all the help they can get ... Cleaning, rubbering ... Everything you can do, frees them up to do something else.

    Quoted from Buzz:

It's Banning not the end of the world. People drive further to Cochella every year with no problem. It's like 65 miles from LA

From my experience, LAers don't like to drive from downtown to Anaheim, let alone out to Banning ...

    Quoted from iwantansi:

This couldnt be more true. I havent completely figured it out. People in LA generally dont like to drive to OC and vice-versa. San Diego is like a whole other state.

Its certainly been my experience in LA the 14-15 times I've been there.

Yet I get a thumbs down? WTF!

Cool. Reposted to my D/FW peeps.
Will be there on the 12th w/tools and determination game-face on. At the very least I plan to create a Google Docs repair inventory for you guys and get some EM's dialed in. Let's do this.

    Good effort man. Congrats!

    Quoted from Aurich:

Who wants to come out to Banning this Sunday for a last push to fix up games? Everyone who can do even basic pin stuff can help. I'll be there for sure, come on out!

Come out, Aurich is bringing a couple of cases of beer!!

    Beer for all the helpers!

You'll miss out on Aurichs beer!

    Quoted from NicoVolta:

Tuesday night - Sunday morning... sadly too late to board the brew bus...

I'm sure Nimble will keep some of Aurichs beer bounty for you!

    Quoted from NimblePin:

I'll be wearing the plaid as usual so, don't be afraid to come up and say "hi!"

Just look for the guy with the Rupert Bear pants.

"Hooooorah! We fixed the Bally Row!"

    Quoted from Aurich:

I need more upvotes for that.

In summer he wears Rupert Shants.

I'm guessing you guys probably don't know who Rupert the Bear is ... He's a UK cartoon dating from the 1920s, and still runs today ...

    Quoted from NimblePin:

Kinda eerie how he knew the tech shirts were red too!

Yep! I heard the world famous Aurich say "red shirts" on a podcast last night.

"Yaaaaaaay we made it in time!!"

What's that about? Is it all blacked out?

    Looks pretty sweet ...

Man, that's next level. Good on "Kiwi Terry" too. Kiwis got skills

    rd

    #284 8 years ago
    Quoted from Cornelius:

I'm hearing all sorts of things about the event, like The City of Banning doesn't want to extend permits to the Pinball Mueseum for more than that weekend? I don't know if that's true or not, but if it is: is the city afraid of the Pinball Muesum cutting into its other lucrative tourist attractions in the area,

No, I think the issue is the building needed upgrading to current code for permanent opening. ie accessble toilets (aka handicapped toilets) more toilets in general, stuff like that. The fire system needed upgrading, I think that is done now.

Town councils require all sorts of things like this for "public access areas" ... Places like factories and warehouses are all different (easier) code requirements.
