Oh my God! Can you actually "fit" a pinball machine in those cars? My daughter has one and it seems like my wife can barely fit her broomstick in there!

Must be like the gateway to Narnia or something - bigger inside than out.

I've got a 2007 Honda Fit. When I bought my first machine (CFTBL), I didn't think it would fit so I borrowed a truck. As I got sucked into the hobby and was ready to buy my next machine, I had seen enough evidence to pick up the machine with my Fit, and indeed it fit with no problems.

I also bought my fit because it had more headroom than any other car I test drove, which was pretty surprising given that I'm 6' 7".

Not sure about the 2015s, but I hope they fit! Good luck finding out!

I am buying a 2015 fit as well, and yes it can fit a pin. I took my meassuring tape to the dealer when i test drover it and meassured it from every angle. There is actaully room to spare..... the 2015 are actaully bigger in side then the previous generations.

I've transported pins in my 2012 Fit but have no idea whether the same can be said for the 2015 model.

The 2015 Fit exterior is 1.6 inches shorter, so I'd guess the reduction in interior space is from a slight reduction in length -- though I haven't found any comparison measurements listed.

I'm posting here because I'm somewhat interested in 2015 Fit, and I know for sure that the previous model will carry a pin no problem. I want someone to report back who's actually put a pinball machine inside a 2015 Fit.

EDIT: The "2015 interior is bigger" statement isn't exactly incorrect. The passenger area is 4.9 cubic feet bigger and rear legroom has increased by 4.8 inches. But I remain optimistically skeptical about fitting a pin in one.

This is why i stated the inside was bigger was based on seeing this. Which i agree might be wrong maybe the over all space is smaller and just the legroom and has incresed, however based on when i brought my tape measure to the deal it, it measured that it would be fine fitting a stern in it. I will be buying one either way as i really like the car, so if my car sales soon (its up to for sale right now), when i get my new fit if someone doesnt already have one i will post pictures showing measurements along with a game inside.

Don't go on measurements alone - the angle of the dangle could be a problem.
I would suggest going on an extended test drive and swing by you house and have a machine ready to load to give it a try.

I was wondering the same - if the 2015 Fit will hold a pinball machine - guess we will have to stay tuned till someone tries it.

That's also a problem with Hondas. You don't get that big of a break on the depreciation as many other vehicles on the used market.

My 2011 and 2013 Fits held pins no problem. Moved B/Ws from the 80s and 90s, Sterns, Segas and DEs no problem. Only thing that won't go is a 90s Gotlieb (unless you remove the head).

No comment on the 2015, I recently got rid of the 2013 for a Honda CRV. It gets great mileage for a SUV, has wonderful pickup and tons of bells and whistles.

Enjoyed the Honda Fit while I had it, but after a while the really weak engine and poor quality seats got to me. It's fuel efficient and great for hauling pins, but after 3 years, I was over it.

Lets tell Honda to make a new Element. That is a hauling dream.

I don't have the pic from the back, but the rear hatch does the 2 fold, 80% folds up and 20% folds like a truck. Making the rear completely flat...ahhhh I want one.

Sad they stopped making them as ours won't last forever. I should always take pics. I've fit two pins in my Element on 5 separate occasions, twice now while also with a passenger in front. Yesterday brought back a Gottlieb wedgehead and Stern IM (and en empty cab on a hitch-cooler-rack). Around 800 mile round trip, thanks to Curly (LSOG) and others along the way!

I've never done it, but I'm pretty sure I could fit two wedgeheads in my 2007 Fit.

Can they be loaded coin door first ? Much easyer to unload and set on it's rear end .

I've owned 2010 and 2013 Fits, and that's how I load mine. Very easy for one person to use the cargo lip as a fulcrum, tip it in, and push. If you veer to the right, the front of the game will be completely behind the passenger seat (which is a big deal if you're tall like me and need the driver's seat all the way back).

Pro tip: get a self-adhesive rear bumper applique to prevent scuffing when loading & unloading.

Yep. That's how I do it. The shooter rod pokes between the front seats, and while I'm driving hope excitedly I reach over my shoulder and keep pulling and releasing the plunger.

you fit 2?....oh this makes me getting my element w/ ursa minor camper even a better deal! That is awesome.

2011 Fit Sport owner here. Still amazed that it can hold an Atari Middle Earth, a widebod pin.

But yeah,this latest gen Fit did chamfer the rear cargo area bit. Also gone are the under-seat compartments, and a few cupholders. Saw one in the dealership and was quite impressed.

It seems a few gadgets they added didn't need to be added(an HDMI port?), but I am still tempted next year to do a trade in.

Compared to my MINI(which Itraded it in for), this is really boring to drive, in a good way. Real reliable.

Bump. Just bought a 2015 Fit, and also curious. If anyone in the Houston area wants to sell me a game, we can test it out!

Just adding my 2008 Fit transported all 3 of my pinball machines (1 is a wide body), a Pac man arcade machine and a Joust arcade machine.
Was even able to close the door for all of them.

I test drove the 2015 Fit about a month ago. I liked it other than some road/engine noise and maybe thinking the seats could have been better. You can flip the rear seat bottoms up and fit a pretty large flat screen TV standing up. I'm waiting for the 2015 CR-V before I decide what I'm going to do. CVT is confirmed and I'm hoping it gets the full Earth Dreams treatment. A CR-V that could average 30 MPG or better would be a winner for me.

Interested in this as well. I may have to keep '09 or my wifes '11.

Width is the biggest concert and a square opening.
Example: I own a 2009 toyota matrix. It fits a EM on a cart with the head seperate. But modern folding head games were about 1-2 inches too tall when folded(no cart). There was a simple solution besides getting myself a fit - remove the bolts inside the head that hold the hinges, place some cardboard down, fold the head and depending on the amount of slack in the harness push the head towards the lockdown bar, then finally secure with shrink wrap. Has worked perfectly and is a minimal hassle.

wiermaster, I think i did this when I bought that NGG from you a few years ago with the PF that had all the inserts lifted.

The engine/road noise isn't that bad. Really like the CVT. Recently drove it cross country--averaged about 48 MPG on the highway!

I love my manual transmission 2009 Honda Fit sport edition and used it to haul several of our pinball machines including a wide body.

I'd say get a low mileage older model. Love my fit though its pretty much my wife's car now. She needed an upgrade from her beater 95 Nissan sentra and I got an insight for the gas mileage, which I only got instead of another fit because I found one for the same price as most fits go for. It's a great car and drives better than the insight.

This vehicle looks pretty good for a daily commuter and pinball hauler. Hmmm, I wonder if I should sell my 2010 Prius and get one of these? The car payment would likely be the same thing. I would lose a little on gas mileage but not much. Also, I could actually haul a pin haha

I wonder how reliable these will be? I heard that the 2015's are made in Mexico as opposed to Japan with previous models.

Ah!!! I bet the crosstrek would fit if you did the same thing! I miss my vibe....great floor on the back cargo area as well for sliding a pin in!

That would be a game changer. My '08 model has 100k plus miles with no major maintanence issues yet. I got about 25mpg stop and go city driving and 35+hwy mpg.

For what it is worth, I have a 2013 Honda Fit and have hauled both regular and widebody pins with no issues. The only time I had to be somewhat creative was with an IJ(W) in that the plunger stuck out a bit too far resulting in my not being able to close the cargo door, yet all I had to do was slightly shift the game to its right when in the Fit and the cargo door closed with no problem.

As for unloading, however, I have found it a little bit of a task to lift some pins onto the bottom lip of the cargo opening when removing a pin (I am not a big person). Yet, to date, all has worked out with no known loading, hauling, or unloading damage to either a pin or my Fit.

I do, though, second this:

Dunno about the 2015, but I had a pretty bad wreck in a 2010 Fit. Guy ran a red light, and I t-boned him going 45 mph. I escaped with a broken finger and bruised ribs. Fit crumpled as designed:

Have any of you been in an accident while hauling a pin? That pic of the Element with 2 pins in it kinda makes me cringe. I could see the pin plowing through the seat without much effort. Don't even want to think about what would happen in a rollover.
