Quoted from chessiv:I want to be Able to pay for a machine and actually receive it immediately with excellent code. Too much to ask?
The problem is if a machine IS released with really good code but they later try to make it even better someone then says it was originally released with incomplete code. Congrats to JJP for improving on a really good code to start with.
Pinball videos never capture real game play excitement for me - even the WOZ videos seem boring. But this from Two Steps looks very good. I don't think I've ever seen better. If the game is as good as it appears there may be much more demand than supply for a while and it might be better to reserve now. Remember the WOZ price increases - Hobbit might be a $10K game in short time. I ordered from JJP last time and was put near the last of the line while those that ordered from distributors got theirs first - it's fair due to allotments but I learned my lesson and went to a distributor (Pinballstars) for Hobbit. Hobbit looks to be a potential pinball blockbuster.
Quoted from solarvalue:So it seems people are being asked to finalize options such as the protector and decals. Can this be a sign that the end is near?
Yes - My distributor sent out an E:mail for final adjustments to all Hobbit buyers about 10 days ago. My distributor is very, very smart.
By all signs we are near production. But I wouldn't get too hopeful as games will trickle out at first. There won't be many games out by Christmas but I certainly expect a few.
Quoted from CaptainNavidad:Thanks, Joe. I ordered direct from JJP - does that mean I should be getting a call from Jen?
What I learned from the direct purchase WOZ experience was if you want anything you'd better ask for it. Jen never called me about add ons.
Quoted from MrBally:Statement of the year. Waze has saved me from major traffic jams and many speed traps. An app I'd gladly pay for.
I agree. Though I wish JJP was shipping anything now is likely a one-off. There would be more hoopla if the line was up and running Hobbit.
Quoted from Tuna_Delight:Whoa - another $500 increase over previously announced nonpre-order price.
$10,000 is really not too much to pay for a really good pin....if it brings the room together.
