I think The Hobbit looks like a fun pin but I would have a hard time spending the $$ on one for a few reasons.
First being that the only WOZ I have seen and played has had a ridiculous amount of problems and more times than not would be turned off or have the glass off with the PF raised because it was broken. It's a fun game and I like to play it but for that kind of money I think it should be more reliable. I am sure there are others who haven't had issues but there are a lot of threads on pinside of others who have had significant problems. Hopefully they have worked all of this out on the hobbit and it will have stellar reliability.
Second from a business longevity standpoint, how can a company stay in business with such limited and delayed production? I mean how are they making money when they aren't building and selling machines? How many spares parts are currently out there? If they don't make it long term are parts going to be available?
I am sure I will get down votes for this post but I am stating my reservations about purchasing a JJP machine.
Just as I don't understand someone continually bashing JJP in every JJP thread I also don't understand how anyone can defend JJP and their failure meet any type of build and delivery schedule. They shouldn't be taking peoples money and then not delivering the product for over a year after the expected ship dates.
The people who have prepaid and pre-ordered have much more patience than I have and hopefully it will soon payoff for them and they will be playing The Hobbit.
