Quoted from DaveH:

Every shot in all of Pinball is boring. I don't care what game or what layout, the shots get boring very quickly. It is always the code that changes a boring shot into an exciting shot. The sounds, the music, and the code. For instance... "Gollum has the ring". Oh, have LOTR say that and my tension goes through the roof. Or have Frodo start counting down from 10, and you need the wandering shot in G vs S, and you desperately want the ball but it is up in the lanes... 3... 2... ONE.... Did you make it or miss? That is where it becomes fun.

I couldn't agree with this more. Part of what makes a shot "satisfying" is the code behind successfully making that shot when it really counts. A flashing light and a "ding" are quite a bit less exciting (for me at least) than a series of well orchestrated call outs coupled with the light show on the playfield and what's being depicted on the display. There's nothing better than feeling that sense of urgency, regaining control of the ball, and successfully making that shot when the game is on the line--and I think that all comes from really great code.

JJP posted an additional statement citing the investment:

"There are many Hobbit parts already at the building, with more and more coming in each week. We plan to begin sub-assemblies within the next month, with full production/shipping beginning early this Fall. We know our customers are anxious and excited for Hobbit Production to begin, and we are very close. We are doing everything in our power to get parts in as fast as possible while at the same time ensuring all are correct and thoroughly tested. JJP Programmers, Keith Johnson and Ted Estes are working diligently on Hobbit Software so that when games begin shipping, code is close to completion.

We will be increasing headcount significantly in order to build and deliver Hobbit machines in a timely fashion. We thank our customers for their patience, understanding, and support as always!"

Quoted from LTG:

What a great day for pinball !
LTG : )

For the longest time I thought that LTG was constantly chastising people for their inability to Google.

Quoted from LTG:

You aren't the only one.
Older than Google, goes back to about 1975.
LTG : )

Here I go--heading over to Google again to figure out what happened in 1975...

Quoted from Peppers:

I was told I was number one on the list from my distributer!!

That just made my day. I hope your daughter enjoys her machine.

Quoted from ls1chris:

i hope Jack reads this and ships your machine out the door first. if i was before you i the que i would gladly move to the bottom of the ship list to give you my spot.

I doubt I'm higher up in the queue but I second that.
