I just convinced a mate to buy a HUO 2006 LOTR (his first pinball). He's got it home and within a couple of days has experienced DMD blanking out once and resetting occasionally. I have experience chasing these problems down on a 90s williams machine, but this is a modern Stern and I don't know if there's anything peculiar to these machines. This one is only 7yo.
I've told my mate to start with checking plugs and chips are properly seated. Next I'll go over and check the 5V supply, & bridge rectifiers. Should a 7yo huo machine have problems with pins & caps? Any other suggestions given that i've never worked on a modern stern. Thanks!
