2 out of 3 ain't bad

Hello Lloyd,

I have been helping out a friend of mine who has 3 pinball machines. 2 of the machines will not turn on. When powered on the playing field lights up

but will not boot. The LED on the MPU board never comes on. The machines having the issue are a Stern Stars and a Bally Black Jack. I spent some time

looking at the stars machine. I checked all of fuses on the power supply board and the voltages on TP1-5 are right on. We are suspecting that the issue is with the MPU boards in these machines. A couple of years ago he had the same issue with both of these machines and replaced the MPU boards which fixed the problem. I did take the MPU boards out of the machines to inspect but did not see anything obvious.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Dear Stumped

Gut feeling here. A couple years ago replaced MPU's and they worked then.

I doubt you have that many bad MPU's. Probably time for new connectors.
