I was recently asked by a JP owner I did some work for if I could make him an alternative, and better, translite for his Jurassic Park game. So I came up with 2 designs.

I really like both of these designs and think they suit the game better than the standard sunset orange one. The guy I made these for only wanted one and has agreed to let me make them available to other people, so I'm thinking about doing a small run. If interested, let me know which version you would want?

-- EDIT --

No. 2 (the Gate version) is available to Pre-Order now.

Only doing a run of 10 which have nearly all been allocated, so if you want it then grab your place here: http://www.retrorefurbs.com/shop/jurassic-park-gate-alternative-pinball-translite/

Will run a 2nd batch at a later date if there is enough interest though.

I like the second one

$?

#4 3 years ago

I like the gate version also

#5 3 years ago

I like the gate one too! How much?

#6 3 years ago

No harm asking... Have you got (or would consider making), an alternate translite for SW Trilogy?

#7 3 years ago

I don't have the game, but depending on price/schedule I'd pick up option 2.

#8 3 years ago

May be interested in #2 based on price and timing

#9 3 years ago

Yeah, agree that version 2 is better.

#10 3 years ago

I don't have the game either, but like the gate version (option 2), if you are keeping score.

#11 3 years ago

Would love to see how they look when the lights are on behind them?
Option #2

#12 3 years ago

Both look cool, I would love to see a mock up on # 2.
I'm leaning towards #2 also.
I don't have the game yet, but it's on the short list.

Nice work

Sure. It's done and updated first post.

Yes I can do this for you. Drop me a PM.

Bump...

I prefer #2 but with most of the alternate translites that I see...something feels off that makes it seem like a poster rather than a translite. I'm not sure why and I'm not sure what would make it look more like a translite to me. I guess I'd feel differently if the original translite was something awful like Jeff Goldblum's mug front and center like how Baywatch or Last Action Hero is done.

Definitely let us know how much for #2 and when they'll be ready for prime time

That's because it is a poster. He added in the JP logo and the DE on the arch, but I've got the same image as a 24x36 inch poster hanging in my JP room. I do like it as a translite though.

Has there been a price determined yet?

The production translite on this game is by far the best thing, artwork-wise, about the DE pinball machine. I like the original.

Nah, that honor goes to the cab art

As mentioned in the edit above, we'll be selling this on our site here: http://www.retrorefurbs.com/shop/jurassic-park-gate-alternative-pinball-translite/

Definitely get one while they're available.

#21 3 years ago

Easier to put it up on the RR site than ordering by PM through me.

#22 3 years ago

I really like that all the actors are on the original. Plus, what am I going to do with all my blinker bulbs??!?!

Well you could always just, ya know, keep your original and not put any alt translite in your game... maybe?

Or enjoy the magical twinkling gate to Jurassic Park lol.

#24 3 years ago

These are all gone now.

Will run a 2nd batch if enough people want them.

#25 3 years ago

How about a translite with the guy hanging out of the t-Rex's mouth

I'm glad to hear they sold well. You guys made these a lot faster than I was expecting. Maybe I can get in on the next batch if I can stop buying other machines!

Yeah stop buying pinball machines, it'll cost you way too much money haha!

Ok, here are the prints going out.

I will make the next batch on 7th March. Anyone who missed the last batch should pre order now if you want a spot: http://www.retrorefurbs.com/shop/jurassic-park-gate-alternative-pinball-translite/

I wanna see them on yalls machines. Dont forget to post pics.

Agreed! Once I can see it on a machine with the lights behind it, then I'll pull the trigger assuming it's as awesome as I'm hoping

#30 3 years ago

Ok, so who wants a free translite in exchange for posting pics on here?

First come first served.

#31 3 years ago

I would love to add one to my game

#32 3 years ago

I love the one with the gate

What kind of pic do you want?

Freebie taken!

Now ya'll will be happy.

#35 3 years ago

Curious what these are printed on. If it is just a plotter they need to be reverse printed on the back?

You will have to speak to Retro Refurbs about that. They have perfected the translite prints, and it's not like the usual cheap matt finished back-lit material other people are producing alternative translites on. These have a beautiful glossy finish which is more like the screened translites from early 90's games. They're thick and heavy too. Really nice.

UGH! How did I miss this?

Post pics already!

#38 3 years ago

Just waiting for mayboyz to post his translite.

#39 3 years ago

My son would love this on his JP. It is clearly his favorite game!

#40 3 years ago

Meh, Mayboyz has ran off with my translite. Funny how people are so fast to grab something they want but as soon as they get it they're no longer interested in you.

That's the last time I give away anything for free on here.

#41 3 years ago

Hey mayboyz, what's up?

#42 3 years ago

WHERES THE PICS???

#43 3 years ago

I'm pretty damn disgusted to be honest!

#44 3 years ago

Sucks he hasn't posted pics like he promised yet. Hopefully he will.

#45 3 years ago

The gate is amazing. Looks killer

#46 3 years ago

Ok people I'm happy to say the issue between myself and Mayboyz has been resolved. He has even paid me for the translite but is unable to post photos right now.

Can I persuade someone else to take a FREE translite in exchange for posting some pics of it in their game?

First to raise their hand wins!

Just got the translite today. As promised here are the pics (a couple with the lights on and a couple with lights off) and video.

Honest review is that this looks really great. It's a quality print and the light shines through nicely. Really changes the look of the game up. Please note that I have LEDs in the back box and didn't change up a couple of colored ones I had for the original. In the upper left corner I had an orange for the sun and in the lower right I had a red for the fire. The orange in the sky turned out to be a nice surprise.
