The cabinets are MSRP $300. I'm not sure what purists are expecting...but they are fun, they are cheap, easy to build, easy to play, even my 18 month old can turn on my games and play.
THey are a very nice size to fit in a room without taking up a full cab of space and with the riser they are good for me, 5'7" tall. You can upgrade the buttons and joysticks if you don't like them...but for 300 can you go wrong? I mean you can resell it and not be out much...

Agreed. They are just toys and not legit commercial grade arcades. Don't expect too much. I bought one without a riser with a couple of cheap stools. Easy to put together and light enough to carry upstairs without pain and suffering. Works fine for me. Only problem is that nobody plays it.

"Keep hearing about..." or have you actually played? My arcade1ups are fine for a nostalgia fix.
So I have a bunch of fun and if I loose $299 with zero return so f'ing what?

Totally with you. It seems silly for those on this sight to complain about blowing a few hundred on a game given pinball pricing. How much do people spend on dolls to glue to their games or silly things like fancy glass, painted trim, color displays, etc? It's all stupid but we have fun with it. It would be nice to be able to buy a brand new legit arcade game loaded up with games and proper controls for cheap money but that's not an option.

You guy keep comparing stuff that won't be landfill in a year to something that will be landfill in a year. So "silly" is in the eye of the beholder!

They are not all going to be thrown away like that, c'mon. There is no indication that I know of that all these are bricking out or having serious problems. Controls may be junk on some and construction a bit flimsy but they work. I've seen plenty of old trashed out full size arcades that belong in a landfill so you can say that about any old electronic stuff.
