I hated them at first, then bought one, I got the Marvel LE cabinet with the Sanwa sticks.

It's actually really nice; for the money, it's great. I have collected over a dozen arcade cabs over the years, and the problem is that they are huge and CRT's have a lot of issues; so upkeep is difficult. Plus the resale on them is not great, nothing like Pins...Pins are easy to move if priced right, Arcade cabs, not as much.

So I have come around, the size of them is great too; let's me fit in more pins, and the price is a no brainer.

Is it as good as the real thing?? Hell no; but it's economical, and you still get that feel that you are looking for.

I think so imo. I have the Namco cabaret version of Ms Pac man with Galaga but can pull up regular pac man through a joystick
movement code of some sort on this thing. Still play Ms Pac man more though.

I like Pac better, to each their own...Both are obviously classics

I do like these 1UP cabs. I got mine with the idea that I was going to mod it. So some things to keep in mind...if your going to install an old desktop or laptop to play thousands of other games you can only play what you have controls for. If you get a pacman that only has a stick that can't even go diagonal and no buttons your limited to only games that play in that config. I spaciffically got one with an 8 way stick and 6 buttons so after I modded it I can play nearly every game out there. Also keep in mind some have cheap buttons and sticks and others have pro Sanwa sticks and buttons. I got the LE Marvel Super Heros cab. With an oldish desktop running everything using Launchbox to run the front-end, with nearly 7,000 games. From all the old arcade games, NES, SNES, Genesis, Neo-Geo, PS1, And Dreamcast.
Just want to share some things to keep in mind

I have that Marvel Arcade 1up running the stock games, too lazy to put Mame in it...Is it worth it? Every Mame setup I've ever had just feels overwhelming; too many game syndrome.

I love the Punisher, just wish you could crank down the difficulty on the Xmen and Marvel fighting games, they are pretty tough

Easy fix, just install the games you like and leave the rest out. Just because it can play everything doesn't mean you need to HAVE everything.

Not for me. I have OCD, can’t have wrestlefest without Wrestlemania, Jam without blitz, street fighter without KOF, etc. it never ends. Lol

Quoted from arcademojo:

In my 25 years of collecting. I’ve owned just about every full size video out there except EDOT. Rotated through several hundred games. Recently sold the last full size game I had to replace it with a 1up. I don’t see the point of owning a BIG heavy game that takes up more room when I can have a 3/4 scale 1up with 20” monitor in it. Sure CRTs look a little better but I can live with an LCD. To be honest I’ll never own a full size video again. Pinball is my passion, vids are just to relive that nostalgia feeling.

It's hard to argue with this, but nothing ever will beat playing an original arcade game on the original cab with the original control panel layout on a CRT.

I've gone one step further and just skipped the A1Up's; with the remakes most publishers are putting out on Xbox/Steam/PSN, they just look awesome on a 4kTV with scanline emulation on them...It's the next best thing to the real thing, and saves you more space for pins.

Lucked out and found this used yesterday.. I know people don't love the screen but when you play it looks just great. Game play and cabinet size is all a+++

How do you like the Golden Tee?

I'm hoping they do this same cab but with Golden Tee Fore Complete at some point in the future, that would be an insta-buy for me

Always worth a shot but it will definitely take the right person who likes 1ups, wants that many and has a black hole pinball.

Hate to break it to him, but said person does not exist
