Quoted from RWH:Very good deal for the Racer
How is Ridge Racer? After Thanksgiving I was going to throw out my T2 for a racing game trade. If I get this I can sell my T2 cheaper than expected and it would be like a trade.

Well, like a fart in the wind Ridge Racer for $299 is gone. Now $408 on Amazon.
Edit: I just bought it for $299 from Bestbuy going to pick it up now. Walmart is sold out.

Just left Best Buy with a $299 Ridge Racer. Do you guys upgrade the controllers on this game like people do on other games?

Controls on Ridge Racer are actually decent.. You should be ok. Nothing really available to replace as far as I know.

Cool, I was going to pick mine up, but it was going to be out of the way and I realized I could save $12 getting it shipped to me on Wednesday. Online delivery purchases only apply state sales tax, if I pick it up at the score I'm subject to local sales tax as well.
Back to $299 on Amazon, WTF. I would have much rather gotten mine thru smiley face for my 5 percent savings.
Now is the time. The promo code holiday22a1upfriend25 works for 25% in the Arcade1up store right now, with free shipping on orders of 599 before discounts.
For $240 you can get:
Ridge Racer
Simpsons
T2
I bought Blitz ($479), Simpsons (299), and T2 (299) in the past week. If I can get Golden Tee XL as well under 500 I'll scoop that one up as well, but have not seen it yet.
The best bang for your buck 1up is still... Arcademojo's 60 in 1 customs (search this thread for a pinsider made deal) but I've had the most fun by far on my Outrun and Blitz.
If you have little ones visiting periodically, the Simpsons 1up is a great deal. Should take about 2 hours to put together and its easy enough for 4 year olds to coin up and play.
T2 shows up in the mail today. I'll post a new photo once my mini arcade is up and running.
I've had good luck trading these around too. Try listing yours "for trade" on facebook when you are tired of yours. Traded out Ridge Racer for Big Buck hunter a few months ago.

Stand up Outrun and Buck Hunter are my favorites. I converted my PacMan to a 60-1.
New Yoga Flame SF looks really good.
Running out of room for these though..

The Yoga Flame is nice. I've pretty much been playing each night. I just wish more people were playing on line. That was one of the main reasons I got it. A quick way to play against others in Super Turbo.

I just built mine the other night and only played a few games, but I liked it. $299 is a great deal. I think I got mine for 4-something and still think it's worth it. The wheel is too sensitive after doing a calibration, I wonder (and assume) if there's a way to make it less sensitive. Works well in long curves but your car is jerky when making smaller steering adjustments. Cabinet was a little wobbly though, the wheel might improve after I secure the cabinet better.

I was thinking of putting mine up NIB for $500 since I recently bought a new Golden Tee PGA pedestal. But I doubt you or anyone is driving 400 miles for a 1UP.

Damn, always better deals flying after I buy. Go figure.
When Arcade 1up announced it would be doing Dragons Lair, I decided to get on the email notification just in case they did something really cool.
The first generation of A1U games were honestly, pretty bad looking IMO. I got two for my grandson for his room, but I had no desire to own one myself. The generic cabinet with the name of the games on the front was just not very visually pleasing and they felt like Junk. But when the did the Burger Time, a semi-accurate recreation, that impression started to change for me. When the final images of Dragons Lair came out just prior to pre-order, I knew I would get at least that one. And then looking around, I noticed that Tron looked amazing, and so did Star Wars, and I'll be damned if that Class of 81 and Tempest weren't also really great looking.
The Dragons Lair came in and I was extremely happy with it, other than the sound lag problem (which didn't kill the experience for me). So I started ordering others when they were on sale and I could get a good price. I now have 9 of them, and I could totally see selling all of my coinop video games and replace them with these.
I have been way more than happy with all of my A1U purchases as a 'casual' game player. If the game play is different or has lag compared to their real counterparts, it's not enough for me to even notice. Multiple games per unit, semi-accurate cabinet style, light weight and you can fit 3 games into the space occupied by 2 coin op games. The controller components seem to be getting better too.
The last one I got was Pong pub table for 199 dollars. That's a pretty great game and it's built very well and - 4 player Warlords? Heck yea!
I've been collecting video games for almost 30 years, and while it took a while, Arcade 1up eventually won me over. Looking forward to seeing what they do next.

ST is not a super popular game on there but has its fans. Join the Discord for games.
A lot of the regulars are on there and people will play if you ask.

Generally they are much better now but they still can have design and/or emulation issues. I always watch a few reviews before buying. My big issue is height, I find these a bit short so I have bought some boosters for them which makes them much better.

So not many people go on-line?
That was my main motivation for buying.

Not from what I've seen. I see the same people over and over and there are not to many of them. For Hyper Fighting, the most lobbies I've seen used at once was 7......out of 200. For Super Turbo, most I've seen used at one time was 3. It does get boring playing the same Ryu players over and over. Champion Edition seems to have the most users....which is odd I think. That game is just to slow for my taste.

That is a bit disappointing. Maybe more after the holidays as more people buy and spend more time inside.
Waiting to see if there is a good sale.. not in a rush. I have lots to play LOL.
Thanks for the info!

We are a short family so with the provided riser they are perfect for us.
Getting a few modded 1up's and 3/4 scale games ready for Christmas. First one up is Ms Pac Man modded to a Class of 81 Ms Pac Man Galaga reunion game. Now plays 412 games, large 19" LCD monitor, lighted marquee and extra tall 16" riser. Have it listed here for $800.
Killer instinct with stool and riser for $255
Edit: I personally pulled the trigger on it after posting.
Ridge racer, T2, Simpsons are also $255
So... I'm all in on Arcade1up now and love these things. I filled my wall with a few more (but am out of space) with black Friday deals this week. That Outrun 1up gets as much play as any pin in my collection and is my recommended driver. The Ms Pacman on the right is a 60 in 1 conversion from Arcademojo (he sells stuff in this thread, recommended. Blitz is new and is a hoot. It is my oldest's favorite at the moment. I sold my Simpsons picade and replaced with a standard Simpsons with stool and riser, it gets more play because my little ones can figure it out. T2 only has one game, but it is my youngest's favorite. There is a helicopter chase (escort) level halfway through they need help with. Just finished putting together the Goldentee this morning. Screen looks awful from a distance but it is great standing in front of it. I have had good luck trading these on Facebook when I've had my fun, and as a general rule can sell one for about $100 less than I paid after a time. I'd highly recommend just about anyone of these as something different for visitors to play. The only one I will recommend strongly against is the Tempest 12 in 1 (reliability issues). The XL builds (Golden Tee) look and feel better to me than she smaller versions. The small versions are just fine playing on a stool (and I'm 6'4").
Maybe someone else has seen this but is there a mod to get NASCAR arcade or Daytona on the outrun arcade 1up?
Could have sworn I’ve seen this recently.

Pretty sure that was just a trolling video someone made to be funny. I saw that video and when Daytona was being "played", you could easily tell that it was some photoshop.

I think they said it works with Ridge Racer and Outrun.

I’m thinking about buying a used one on Craigslist.

I have that new one, and the only issue is they don't have the "good" monitor in it, so the colors are a bit washed out. Not a big deal for the player, but it looks odd from a distance. It's a great collection of games though. But no Robotron. WHAT???

To clarify there are different versions of this game.. First gen Mortal Kombat 2 with 2 games on it. This one uses the gen 1 monitor that isn't the greatest.
The second one. Mortal Kombat 2 Legacy edition with 12 games. The game are very good and the Monitor is the BOE so it is the best monitor 1up has available. This one I would highly recommend. Even though I mod these games I keep and original setup to play.

Mine is the MK2 Legacy with 12 games, and the monitor was NOT the BOE. It was a huge controversy in the hobby and forced many people not to buy it. Maybe they've changed it since they shipped?

Never saw one that wasn't a BOE. Never heard on any of the forums about any kind of controversy on them not being a BOE.
Just booted Blitz today and see that it went live for online play. Just the ‘99 is currently live, but it’s a start.

Forgive me. I was talking about the wrong one I guess. This is the one that was shipped this summer without the BOE.

Think Arcade Graffix (or Szabos Arcade as well) have the actual side for the original arcade cab if you want Johnny Cage doing his kick on top of the dragon. But yeah, I know a lot of people swapping out the BOE monitor from the original legacy cab into this one.

Blitz on-line is decent - was playing at my friends house
I am going to get one but waiting for a few more updates, want to see it refined as it definitely stuttered a bit. Apparently this is a beta release.

Snagged a $299 Ridge Racer as a Christmas present, looking forward to getting it set up. $300 is a nice number for these machines. $600-700 not so much.

If you wait, there are deals to be had. I got my Pong pub table for $199 and ridge racer for $299 the last time it went on sale, but I waited on a couple and ended up missing out. You never know which ones are going to be around.
These things are fun for sure, getting more expensive with every release it seems. Wish I would have picked up an Outrun as the don’t seem to be available new anymore

The stand up Outrun is really fun. They should have kept making it.
Quoted from Eskaybee:Any thoughts on T2? It’s on sale for $299.99. If not T2, what’s best multiplayer shooter?
I think T2 is a great deal for that money.... but, the rumor is Time Crisis is coming in the next batch of new releases.....
Quoted from Eskaybee:Any thoughts on T2? It’s on sale for $299.99. If not T2, what’s best multiplayer shooter?
A little read back in this thread and seems T2 is probably not a good choice due to one game and limited gameplay. But still might be good for my 5 and 10 yo kids? And $299, tempting.
Quoted from tamoore:I think T2 is a great deal for that money.... but, the rumor is Time Crisis is coming in the next batch of new releases.....
I was never a fan of time crisis in the arcade (I know I’m in the minority). Aliens, timecop, T2, and Aerosmith were my favorites.

The two games with low replayability are the only two still hanging on to 299 price point. It's pissing me off with T2 because that's what I was going to list it for, but I have to wait for the sale to be gone and I need my game gone
