Hello! I'm brand new to Pinside and I have a Gottlieb Wipeout.
Sorry to resurrect this post but this is the one issue I'm looking to resolve as well.
My ramp is cracked as it connects to the rail and causing bounce-back and stuck-ball issues.

Post some pics of the damage. Almost any ramp damage can be repaired
We will be happy to guide you! (I own this title and had to do extensive repairs to my ramp

Not sure how this will turn out as an attachment. but the bottom left corner is cracked pretty good and flexes. The area where it looks like rivets were used to join the rail to the plastic ramp.
I either get the ball bouncing back pretty hard off what I believe to be the rail and going down the snowboard ramp straight for the center ball drain, or the ball stops and is stuck on the ramp just past the plastic to rail connection point. It makes a bummer of a round when that happens and you are cruising for a record.
Hopefully this post will show the pic okay and my terms are not trash.
Thanks for the quick replies.[quoted image]

I had the same issue but happened only on the plunge. Shots from the flippers almost never rejected.
Believe it or not it was the plunger spring- someone put one in that was 2 sizes/strengths too strong, so when you plunged to start the game, the ball was getting airborne and hitting the wireform, it broke a weld eventually!

I put the correct color plunger spring in and all is good now

Btw that crack can easily be repaired with the plastic cement I recommended. Best part is that section cant even be seen.

Let us know if the issue is only on plunges or during all gameplay

Talked to my pin guy and I had a red spring on my shooter. He said a white or brown would likely benefit me in regards to my issue. What colors do other Wipeouts use for the shooter spring? I bought both a white and brown. I also noticed my shooter tip is in rough shape and I already have one of those so I will replace it as well. I will try the cement on that crack.
Thanks for all the help so far I really appreciate communities like this. I'm excited to find the little problems on this guy one by one and conquer them.

I'm using a green one (.35 medium)
I tried the brown and it was too weak
Green can be found here

According to Steve over at PB Resource, the OEM was #GTB A348 (scroll down about 2/3rds of the way down)
http://www.pbresource.com/shooterrod.html

Marco has that item here
https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/A-348

Marco also lists a modern substitute #10-148-1 (it's a. 33 silver)

Thanks for all of the help and information. I received my springs today and tried the white one to see and it actually works quite well. I'll keep the silver .33 in mind if I feel it to ever be too weak.
This is definitely the primary fix and cause of the ramp issue. The red spring was just destroying that ramp-to-rail connection. The white spring sends the ball very nicely into the rail without a thud against the rail or plastic ramp. My shooter rod had a damaged end from no rubber tip but I was able to softly grind some of the side metal and place a new rubber tip that sat nicely and makes a good soft contact with the ball. I also replaced all of my balls so I didn't have any dinged up balls rustling around.
Only thing left to do is use that Weld-On 16 for the plastic ramp fix and this issue is behind me and on to other repairs. This is indeed quite fun and I'm catching the bug. Thanks again!

Glad it's working and glad we had the same problem!
My ramp and habitrail was getting destroyed the same way

Was able to pickup a Wipe Out this week that a guy had in his basement for the past 15 years. He had no idea how to operate it or how to even open it up. I was able to find the keys to the coin door and drill out back box lock to get it disassembled. Long story short machine is filthy but I scored a great machine that won't take much to have looking / playing fantastic.
Here's my question... playfield is in very good shape but does have a wear spot or two and the cabinet needs some touch ups. Does anyone know what the paint colors / codes are? I'm hoping to avoid a lot of trial and error!

Sorry ... wish I did as my purple at the drops needs touch up. Last thing I need to do on mine and it will be finished
Best we can hope for is someone found a perfect "retail" mix or blended something they can explain as a % of mix to us!
Good luck - great game and congrats

Love mine
