Hi, I have a 1987 414 Tomcat that I purchased as a fixer upper, note this is my first project and probably way over my head. The machine turns on, lights up, sound is good, flippers all work good but when I put it in game mode both coin play and free play the game wont play. The lights stay on and sound works but the flippers stop working. I don't see any visual damage.

When you say your flippers work but not in game mode I assume you mean in test mode they work? They should not work if a game is not running unless you are in test mode. There is a flipper relay on the CPU board at K1 that should engage when a game is started. Start a game while watching/listening to the relay and see if that is engaging. Also verify voltages at the flipper coils and see if you have the correct power.

yes your correct, when in test mode flippers work. When put in game mode they don't.

Remove the batteries for 5 minutes restore the system to Factory settings, re test.
