F-14 Tomcat
Williams, 1987Hi, I have a 1987 414 Tomcat that I purchased as a fixer upper, note this is my first project and probably way over my head. The machine turns on, lights up, sound is good, flippers all work good but when I put it in game mode both coin play and free play the game wont play. The lights stay on and sound works but the flippers stop working. I don't see any visual damage.
When you say your flippers work but not in game mode I assume you mean in test mode they work? They should not work if a game is not running unless you are in test mode. There is a flipper relay on the CPU board at K1 that should engage when a game is started. Start a game while watching/listening to the relay and see if that is engaging. Also verify voltages at the flipper coils and see if you have the correct power.

Remove the batteries for 5 minutes restore the system to Factory settings, re test.
