Just got a new member to my collection a 1981 Stern Lightning. He came from an abusive home an needs some work, so he can feel good about himself again! I need to find replacement inserts especially the two large blue triangle inserts pictured. Any help or advice would be appreciated

did you come up with something for the triangles? I leveled mine with a hair drier and then wet sanded them with 400grit / 1200grit / 2000grit and finally plastic headlight polish for a near perfect finish. I was suprised they came out so good.

If you remove and sand them they are very easy to repair. Level them with an hair dryer.
Start with low grid, 180, 220, 400, 800 put some clear and they will be amazingly nice !

You can fix it like the advice given. Level the insert, sand and finish. Then take the insert and push out the side some on the bottom when hot and widen it some to insert tight. Then fill the gap around the insert with wood filler, touch up and spot clear. You can also build out the insert hole with bondo first. I have fixed alot of inserts like this on classic sterns as mentioned in this thread. I would use the originals and fix the problem. The ones from Steve are Jeweled and that is an newer (>1984) insert that did not come on this era of game.
