I'm starting my 9th full pin resto. This will be my second Xenon resto. Xenon was also my first in 2009.

I'm going all out on this one. Starting with a new base cabinet. Perfect original inner back glass and 9.5 outer glass from an early run game.

This game will get a CPR 2019 repro PF. CPR plastic set. This game is was purchased at a show, complete non working game in 2019. The cab was really rough and one side was bowed severely. I decided to disassemble the cab and have the pieces reproduced at a local cabinet and furniture shop. It was pricey! I had them make triple of everything so that I can build some extra cabs in the future. One of which will be an EBD.

Highlights of this game will be all the latest boards including the new sound board with the newly released sounds from Suzanne's record. Xebulon pop bumper and back glass mods. Super Skill Shot custom shooter rod. Chrome and/or PC finishes on legs, rails, coin door etc.

All connectors re-pinned. All new mechanicals and re-plated metal work. Anybody that has purchased any of my restores knows that I don't leave anything out.

Pics of the new wood here, disregard the holes in the front panel since the carpenter copied the holes on the original even though I didn't tell him too but it was too late. I can fill them with dowels later. Sorry my feet got into a pic.

Well, with a big budget you get a lot more options. My restore is on a bottom skinny budget. I'm removing rust from screws with rust remover and my dremel.

Nonetheless, your documentation is appreciated. Xenon is a beautiful classic with an interesting backstory in the history of pinball. Worthwhile to save or restore on any level. Good luck!

Go Rich! I have parted a couple Xenon PF's and have some extra hardware if needed.

Wow that sounds tedious. I love Evaporust for this type of thing. Soaking the screws and then dropping in the tumbler for a few days, your screws should look new again. Any parts that you can save is a plus.

I had to buy another back box since this game was missing the outer glass. It had smoked pexi in its place. The second box has wicked rust so not much to salvage but will keep what I can. The lift channel was the worst and I was afraid to ruin the glass when removing it but I got it off without losing much artwork.

Tjanls Tom! I should be okay. I have quite the hoard of xenon parts from prior restores and buying up whatever I could find. I even bought parts from a guy in the Netherlands years back.

Hows this project going?

Actually it's been on hold. I got side tracked with an EBD project since buyer was anxious for me to start it and I actually wanted to start it myself. I recently noticed that the wood shop made one of the router cuts in the wrong location on the Xe cab sides. It's the one near the top rear of the cab for the PF back rest. I have the tools to remedy it, so I might try that today. My goal now is to assemble both the Xe and EBD cabs first and then shoot the black base color at the same time instead of doing them separately. Stay tuned.

Got a little bit done last weekend. Winterizing a couple of pools for friends ate up some time so I could have done more. I used an angle finder to figure out the PF ramp pivot. Of course the miter saw only goes to 45 degrees so I had to cut them perpendicular to the saw fence. I clamped a mini square to the miter saw to keep the wood straight and to keep it from moving while cutting, yeah not the safest way but I didn't lose ant fingers

I placed a straight edge to the sides for a guide for the PF support blocks. Xenon PF sits about an inch lower in the cab than most Bally games, I think Medusa is the only other one that does. Having the old cab nearby really helped. I'm also doing this on an EBD build at the same time. I also pre-drilled starter holes for the harness clamps, line filter and anything else that is mounted inside the cab.

Getting there, little by little. I'm also working on 2 EBD's so it seems I'm going slow but I'm not lol.

I got the cab assembled. I pre-painted the upper inside portion of the box so I wouldn't have to mask the inside and floor. It's coming together pretty well.
