I have seen that system 1 games by Gottlieb can be converted to Chimes. Can the same thing be done with older Stern games like Dracula from 1979? I am not a big fan of these early sound boards. I can imagine liking this game if it had chimes, but can imagine being annoyed by the sound board.

Has anyone done this? If so, how?

thanks,
Aaron

Quoted from winteriscoming:

I find the chimes on Stern Stars to be very charming

I agree. I love the early SS machines that have chimes. It is a great combination.

Quoted from zacaj:

technically be possible

Has anyone out there tried this? Anyone want to try? Anyone want to post instructions on how to do this?

Thanks guys for the replies.

It looks like the first generation board used simulated chimes. Is that what you hear on the Stars machine? Does Dracula have the option for simulated chimes? If you put in a 1st gen sound board would it have an option for simulated chimes?

I think you're crazy though

I knew I'd find someone. I don't have a Dracula currently, but I would like one as long as I can address the sound issue. I would be happy enough with simulated chimes if that would be possible. I know buying chimes wouldn't be cheap either. The game play and art package look great to me.
