My machine plays great for the first two balls, but on the third ball the game freezes. Then the score motor just runs and runs, until I hit the reset button. Any suggestions ?

I'd say the ball count stepper unit is not working correctly. Next time, open up the head and see if you can manually step the unit to ball 3.

Royal Flush I've heard is a good machine
not knowing how much experience / knowledge you have with EM pins may be hard to explain .
The Good news is a real fine EM guide is back on line now and also has vids on a few key areas.
See if you can make some headway and let us know if you can get ball #3??

Are you playing a 5 ball or 3 ball game. It could be the ball unit or the game over relay or sometning else depending...

Haha I love it! Deceptacon 45 is my old man, didn't even realize he knew how to use this site
He's new to pins but is very handy, he's been obsessing over this issue for a couple weeks now. Hopefully u experts can help us out!

Stumbled on this old thread, but wanted to supply the info for future readers:
It is probably your Z2 relay. See my post at http://pinballnovice.blogspot.ca/2013/06/the-mystery-of-player-3-solved.html
