I plan on learning a thing or two about Atari pins. Without any board replacement options (wouldnt that be cool ala Pascal?) This could be daunting. I have some parts, different revision boards and displays. I had it working for about an hour once, then the terrible honking and solenoid firing started... It screams its defiance when powered up.

It still has the rotary flippers, complete plastic set. I have extra power supply. Here is a closer shot of the playfield

Looks nice, I wouldn't mind having one of those.

Great luck with the project. I owned the Atarians previously. Man, I wish Atari would not have mounted that CPU right below the playfield. We would have a lot less problems...

Good luck with your project. I'm knee deep in a Middle Earth so I feel your pain.

I don't think Atari ever made a bad looking pin.

#7 6 years ago

Damn that brings back memories of when I was 12 and this game was at a Majik Market a block from the house. Alot of allowance went into that one...........

Steve Ritchies original back glass that he took from the production line. It hangs here in my shop.

Thats cool! Great backglass.

any Ideas for board repair?

I spoke to a gentleman from "I fix atari" named Eugene, he said he repairs atari boards. I just picked up 3 more Atari pins, 2 x Airborne and 1 more atarians. I now am swimming with displays power supplies and plastics. Going to get this Atarians working!

Sweet, be sure to let us know how it goes. I revived a superman and have sold it off since the cabinet wasn't so great, but the pin was a blast. I've got a nice looking Space Riders in storage that I want to get to soon.

Considering just sending all the boards to Eugene just so I start with good boards on this one, it lights up and tries to play but has some issues (don't all projects).

It is nice seeing Atari pinball games are also getting some attention. Here I am in the middle of a similar adventure..... We want to line up some Atari's for our yearly summer pinball event. Last year we revived Airborne Avenger and Superman already for the Dutch Pinball Open. The Atarians is the only production Atari pinball game we are missing in our collection.

And here a nice bloke playing our Airborne Avenger in Holland. He reminds me of someone ....

I would love to find a Superman! A guy by me has a project Middle Earth that I could pick up. Are they any fun?

#15 5 years ago

Superman is one of the greatest pins made up until that point. And don't talk to anyone who has only played weak-flippered, dirty, poorly inclined versions. Lots of shots, and truly challenging when working correctly.

#16 5 years ago

superman was my first machine.....still have it and probably always will...sometimes it seems nice to always be able to see the ball

#17 5 years ago

I love atari pins, would love to own one...I can never find one (that even kinda works) for sale though. If you ever part with any of them let me know!

#18 5 years ago

Starting the tear down of the extra Atarians i picked up... certainly one of the biggest plastics I have seen on the PF!

#19 5 years ago

Its in decent shape. Some planking on the PF. But the screen is dead on. My other Atarians "red" pass is slightly off. Im going to make a choice between the two. Then get boards rebuilt! Houston... we have some boards to build.

#20 5 years ago

I am going to have some left-over parts! Displays, BG, plastics mostly airborne parts.

#21 5 years ago

Uh oh... found another. Its complete. Been switched over to leaf switches and Bally flippers, but with the parts from the donors, I think we have a worker.

Also making some progress in Holland with operation "Atari"

Space Riders is playing very nice already

Also does Middle Earth

Time 2000 is also back to my surprise those "motor flippers" are pretty strong. Many bulbs are not working....burnt out and/or corroded lampsockets. Some work to do there.

And a big guy waiting for us...... We are now looking for a "The Atarians", the only production Atari pinball game we are missing in our collection.

Hello All! I am considering selling my working condition Atarians machine. Does anyone on here have interest or knows of anybody that would be interested? I live in PA. Thanks for you time.
