I want to buy my first pinball machine, and I found a 1974 Williams Skylab that needs alot of work for $250 online. Can anyone post a photo of one or does anyone know how the game plays?

I played 'Skylab' at a pinball show a few years ago and didn't like it too much,
I love the backglass on this pin and feel Williams 1player machines are still under the radar- you can still pick them up for cheap $
The IPD has info on Skylab http://www.ipdb.org/search.pl?any=skylab&search=Search+Database&searchtype=quick
In general the single player games are easy to fix and maintain I still have my 'Big Ben'
and even after all the hot rod mods in trying to make the play faster its still on the slow side, with those big open playfields the ball will slowdown but $250 might not be too bad just make sure all the parts are there and the Backglass is good.
Like any old pin the backglass is the game- if its gone just walk away.

I dont know what it looks like yet. The seller hasent emailed me back yet with a photo of it. I saw it on this website.http://www.classicpinball.com/ Are they a reputable dealer? Also, how much would shipping cost if this was in Ohio and I needed it shipped to Massachussets?

Hey if that Skylab doesn't pan out ,
look into a Williams Space Mission (11,652 made) or a Space Odyssey (4,300 made)
http://www.ipdb.org/search.pl?any=space+mission&search=Search+Database&searchtype=quick
I own a Space mission and it kicks so much ass but a real challenge to maintain if it's your first pin (relay city man!), Williams was on top of their EM game with SM & SO before they made the jump to Solid State games. I often see 3-5 come up on Craigslist everyear awesome artwork.

Space Mission would be a better choice, and I would be curious to know what this game needs in the way of repairs. As you might already know, some game-specific items can be very hard to come by...
