The stepper is mounted underneath the playfield, I believe. There should be two coils, one that steps up and one that steps down. When the game is trying to countdown the bonus see what the stepper is doing, whether the coil is firing, etc. I assume that it’s not, and if that is the case is a mechanical issue with the coil or is it just not getting current.
