Hey Guys,

From our good friends down under there is hope,

I have contacted Lee from Pinball Rescue and he is very interested in making the 1971 Williams Klondike Playfield Plastics and most likely would say YES to making them except he is currently looking into making a prototype for the hard to make wavy slot machine plastic next week, the rest are no problem as they are flat and he will get back to me if this is possible in which he sounds optimistic, so I will keep you posted on this thread as I receive more information.

So, What I would like to do is get a tally or your vote on who would want a set(s) of the plastics as he needs a minimum of 10 orders to make this happen. He said cost would be around the $100.00 mark which is not bad but this IS NOT the final cost so don't hold us to it as it is dependent on the time in to create the slot machine plastic prototype, etc.

Lets show Lee that we want these made and make him even more optimistic so this happens!

Bottom line: Cast your vote and quantity wanted in the POLL SECTION.

Thanks,

Ken

That slot reel cover plastic is commonly missing or broken. I no longer have my Klondike so my vote doesn't count but a replacement would be great. I'm sure Full House/Top Hand owners would like a version too. Same hard to find plastic with different art.

I voted on the last one.

Tell them to get into the backglass business too, they would have a goldmine.

Yep, that's the only one broken on mine.

Got to do it Jeff! Come On! It's Slot Machine Pinball! It would be a natural next to your Bingo.

My Klondike has a nice set of plastics so I wouldn't be in the market, for now. It would be reassuring to know that a set would be available, just in case. But I wouldn't buy a spare set though.

Good luck!
Art.

Come on you Klondike guys, only need 9 votes more for yes on 1 set each and with 3202 machines made this should be easy.

Ken

#9 2 years ago

I need a slot machine plastic piece.

#10 2 years ago

Sorry no thanks; my Klondike plastics are in great condition! I just have a little crack on the slot-reel plastic in the bottom corner but I can deal with it...

Alright getting closer, need only 7 more folks to acquire the minimum quota.

PM the Klondike owners, worst comes to worst they say no. http://pinside.com/pinball/archive/klondike/owners

#13 2 years ago

I'll have one, my slot reel plastic's a mess...and I might save on postage too!

#14 2 years ago

Hey guys just an update.

We have 7 people total who want these plastics between Pinside and RGP folks.

Just need 3 more commitments for plastics and the rest is up to Pinball Rescue.

Thanks,

Ken

#15 2 years ago

Thanks Alex,

These plastics could also be used on Yukon. They could also be used on Gold Rush and Jackpot (same art and design with slightly different colors).

I have a Yukon Special, the main plastics are different. But I would buy a slot reel plastic guaranteed, they are the same.

Looking for folks buying full sets.

They may down the road offer the Slot machine plastic only but not until they can sell the full sets so 10 is the minimum for them to consider making these. Still holding at 8 commitments total.

Ken

#23 2 years ago

Let me know. I would buy a set, but my plastics are different. Same pictures on them, just different shapes since the Special was modified to have return lanes and different rollovers.

#24 2 years ago

I have a Full House with a really torn up slot reel cover. If he could somehow include me in this I would be in. Not sure how it would work though.

#25 2 years ago

New update:

We have a commitment for 9 sets and just need 1 more.

I know there is one more person out there who needs these.

I voted "One", but it's for a Yukon Special. I only need the slot reel cover, but am not really willing to pay $100 for it (it would just be a spare, mine is in good shape).

If anyone is on the fence about buying the plastic set, because they dont need the slot reel cover, I will buy that off of you and you can keep the rest of the set.

So, don't count me in completely unless I can find someone that wants the flat plastics from the set, or if they will just sell the slot cover.

#28 2 years ago

Just got the last person to commit to a set from RGP so we have 10 folks total for full sets.

I will get back to you when get some new news about these plastics.

Thanks guys,

Ken

#29 2 years ago

Just an update.

Good News:

Lee got back to me today and said that the prototype slot machine plastic he is working on is going in a good direction as this is the only thing holding him back from starting the project.

I'll keep you informed as I hear back from him.

Ken

#30 2 years ago

Any chance he would make just some extra slot reels for a reduced price?

I think there are lots of folks out there that. Would like that.

I have a full house with a bad reel plastic

Can anyone tell me how different it would be?

Or maybe there is enough of us out there that he would do the reel plastic for full house?

Williams Full House and Klondike Plastics are All Different. Your Slot Machine Plastic is flat and the Klondike one is wavy so it will not work.

You could always ask Lee at Pinball Rescue if he would be willing to make the Williams Full House Plastics if you got at least 10 people to commit from Pinside and RGP and start your own thread to get these made.

Search pinball classifieds. The pinball hall of fame sells the slot reels.

Hey Folks,

It's been a while since an update so here is some great news.

Lee is having the new large slot machine plastic tested which has been the only bugger with getting this plastic set done because of it being wavy, not flat.

Here is a copy of the email to me:

G'day Ken

Just keeping you in the loop, today we have made more progress with the Klondike plastics, and we have made a vacuum forming unit for this plastic and with good results in moulding the centre plastic so we are sending the trail plastic interstate for a fellow collector to check fitment on his machine and then we go from there.

Have a great weekend.

Regards

Lee Feldwick

Well folks, Time to start saving your money for a plastic set. I believe his plan is to make the large slot machine plastic available as a stand alone purchase as well.

Cheers to Lee and Pinball Rescue once again.

I'm sure there is Jeff. Just wrote an email to Lee at Pinball Rescue to get a timeline for the Klondike Plastics being available.

P.S. Polished off one of your Ciders last night. Thanks.

Ken

#41 1 year ago

Awesome. My Yukon could use a new set. Especially the Slot Machine cover.

Glad you enjoyed the Cider!

You would have to do a comparison but I I'm thinking NO.

Also as an update Klondike etc. Plastics are close to a release.

Ken

#45 1 year ago

Long time no update but I received an email from Lee at Pinball Rescue stating that the Klondike Plastics will be available in a few weeks .................Yahoo!

Looks like the issue recreating the curved Slot Machine Plastic has been solved so now it is just a matter of producing the sets.

Price TBA.
