1970 Bally Double-UP

Although my EM preference over the last few years has been Gottlieb woodrails, I do like to have a variety of different metal rail manufacturers in my collection and always have my eye out for an interesting or unique game. This hobby has cursed me…each time I say that I’m not going to buy anymore, another one calls out to me.

Yesterday, I found my first Ted Zale/Christian Marche “pointy people” game. Seller had sent two pix to intrigue me and I was pleased to see that the game was in great original shape. Already started the shopping and refurbishing with Russ Snyder/Pinrescue, and, thus far, it is noted that most of the game is solid and won’t be an extensive project. A few silly hacks are evident, but will be corrected. Glass, cabinet and playfield were well cared2019-04-28 10.38.30 (resized).jpg2019-04-28 10.38.30 (resized).jpg for, original coin box, coin mechs work, and will certainly clean up well. Pix are “as found” Will send final pix and a video of the game playing when done.

Wow, only 55 DU’s produced, no wonder why I’ve never seen one before! Thanks for sharing. Pretty cool!

Micheal at the PPM would cream his pants for a chance at this pin.

Very nice !

Never heard of it but this is the definition of rare!

I didn’t think their were and any Bally, Williams or Gottlieb machines from 1967-1979 that I hadn’t heard of. Really cool.

That's a real lovely mural. Would make a nice addition to the game room

I've been to the PPM a few years ago. Who is Mike?

sold is a larger file of this available around anywhere for graft or money? love to find one big enough to make a poster ( or just buy a poster)

Not the greatest Ted Zale game but one of the best Christian Marche artworks and a personal favorite. Congratulations, it is a beauty! Here is a picture of my buddy Ed painting the mural.
It is hanging in our Annex: http://www.pinsane.com/pinorama/events/PPE_16/

Wow, beautiful! It seems to be in a pretty good shape. Congratulations !

This Double-Up would look great next to my Round-Up and Time Tunnel : https://www.flipjuke.fr/time-tunnel-bally-coeur-temps-t135609.html

Update: Still in the shop and we are almost done with the tweaking. Game appears to be hitting on all cylinders:

Cleaning up well and we are leaving "less is more." Not concerned about the few dings and blemishes.

awesome looking machine, and would love a poster of that mural as well

For those that haven't seen it (since several seem to have not heard of the machine), here is @Pecos thread on his restore of another double-up. https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/bally-1970-double-up-minimalist-restoration

What a find! Happy for you... and a wee bit envious.

This is an excellent write up the restoration that Pecos did! I had not seen this post previously and thanks for the description of the rule set! Great job!
