I’m wondering if there’s a broken switch here, or if it’s as it should be. It’s between the 3 and 4 switch columns. What function does it serve? Many thanks!

It's the motor brake switch. The switch ensures the "home" position of the motor. Yours looks to be in good shape. Notice there are no wires going to it since it does not send signals to anything, just stops the motor in the right spot.
