I’m looking for some help/insight on a 1962 Williams World Series Pitch and Bat. We have been working on the game for several days and it’s finally up and going, but the runners never stop on the base. They stop just past the base about an inch. Anyone have any recommendations on how to fix this?

I went through a few Man-Run-Units, but it's been awhile.
Is there not a set screw for adjustment on the base runner
unit's score cam?

Here's a chart from IPDB:

I think switch #5 should determine when the motor and base runners stop. Maybe it's opening a little too late?

We tried this morning and it didn’t change anything. Thanks for taking the time to help though.

It must have done something, as it changes the stop point of the men on the bases although it is a small amount and possibly not enough.

Has the running man motor been replaced? Has the cams been removed from the motor recently?

I’m not sure the history of it. I did have to make a plate to hold a bushing in place because the plate was missing. Disregard the picture of the legs. I hit the wrong picture by mistake.

The motor has definitely been opened before. I ended up buying a nos one off eBay but the shaft was in the wrong position, so we stuck this one back in.

The cams are positioned on the gearbox double shaft by a spring pin. On the other end the running man cross is positioned with another spring pin (end with the rounded shaft).

The two shaft holes that secure the cam and RM cross relationship is critical to the accuracy of the men being exactly on base and there is no adjustment once the shaft is drilled.

I have found two NOS gearbox/motors and the shaft was not drilled on either. Some games the men are a little off and as long as they are operating as they should you don’t notice when playing.

I think you have what you have now.

It's easy access to the backdoor, so I checked out the Bally Ball Park, and the Man-Run-Unit had set screws.
So I went to the barn and dragged the Extra Inning head out, and as yours, it's pinned..
Notching the cam so the run-out switch drops quicker is a little risky, but if you like to play around and if you
can move the run-out switch back or shorten the drop blade just a little bit, that may work, although I'm not
sure what else may run off that stack (and the rest of the cam as far as that goes) and may make so it's not
possible, but like ST mentioned, you notice it because you know it's there, but I'm sure others while playing
wouldn't notice..
