For all you woodrail lovers, I got a call from a customer who had a completely dead Sittin' Pretty. He hadn't seen it work since he was around 4 years old, had been in Grandma's house for around 40 years sitting in their dirt floor basement. It was pretty seized up when I got my hands on it. So:
-Stripped the playfield minus the pops which stayed on, cleaned and applied two coats of clear...no touch ups needed actually the paint was in great condition
-Plastics were garbage...ordered new from Shay Assad
-Removed, tore apart, cleaned and rebuilt the roto target
-Removed, tore apart, cleaned and rebuilt the 10,000 scoring unit and 100,000 scoring unit (the worst of the two)
-Junk coils replaced
-Playfield and in-cabinet scoring motor and relay section removed to bench. Every contact gone through, cleaned and adjusted as needed
-Rusty legs removed, sandblasted, primed and repainted. Rusty cigarette holder sandblasted too as long as I was there
-All screws tumbled
-All metal pieces from playfield buffed
-Every plastic piece from playfield scrubbed with toothbrush
-Coin door repainted, the rest of the cabinet untouched
-Reassembled everything and by some miracle it fired right up. Spent some time chasing gremlins out of there but after I found all the problems (relays and coils stuck on all the time...a contact on the playfield causing all the problems)
Suffice to say the customer was ecstatic. Was delivered yesterday which by coincidence was the one year anniversary of Grandma's passing...to the day.
Enjoy
