Sorry, no schematics for Keeney, just United and Bally.
I don't remember seeing a Keeney small ball. I'm sure it's
designed much like United's. If you get a chance, can you
take additinal pics?
btw: if no luck, you might want to try Mike Pacak for schematics..
Mike Pacak is currently looking for me. It looks more like a Bally. I do have Bally schematics from a 1957 Bally Bowling Lanes.
Whomever had this game before me really hacked this up.
I will get it working again.
I enjoyed checking out the pics. Thanks. It looks like it's kinda a combo. It has gutters
like Chicago Coin's Bowling League. Score reels, pin units, and a Bank Relay similar to Bally, but
having Strike/Spare step up units, it looks like it's logic is similar to United (and Chicago Coin).
With that director unit, Bally had a way different logic and without having to have Strike/Spare
step up units, for the 50s, Bally's scoring was very responsive. It was actually pretty clever the
way Bally mechanically engineered their Bowling Lanes.
I'm guessing the Keeney's coils are 50V. Bally coils (maybe some Uniteds) may be interchangeable
if needed..
Good news. I got the game working. I used a United Bowling lanes Schematic for help. I need to clean all the steppers and score reels. I'm gonna repaint to original and make this game look nice. If I could find an original paint scheme that would be awsum. I believe the original scheme is underneath the paint.
Good to hear. The only pic I found of one was a black & white in a August 12, 1957 Billboard.
Looks like an easy paint scheme on the main cab.
John, I'll put a bowler together from scraps, but I suck with computer.
For some reason I'm no longer able to apply links with this laptop.
If you google in 1957 Keeney Bowl-a-Rama Billboard,
It's in August 1, 1957, page 114.
It doesn't show the head, but shows the coffin portion of the machine..
Also, if you Google in only 1957 Keeney Bowl-a-Rama, there's a thread from May 2015
from BBC asking about information for his Keeney Bowl-a-Rama. He's from Ill. Maybe its
the same machine you ended up with, but you can maybe try to pm him for some info..
Edit: Actually, if you type in "Keeney Bowl-a-Rama" in the search, you'll get some information.
Some links in some post..
I enjoyed this post, as I'm just about done with a Keeney Poker face flipper game, one of only 6 flipper pins they produced throughout their run in the arcade machine business. Interesting that your game has the same plastic reels as my game... not the best design there, as these reels tend to crack on those thin plastic spokes.
If you or anyone knows where I can score a non-cracked plastic score reel or two, let me know!
Thanks!
