I use Gorilla glue, wood clamp them and replace the old sex screws with new ones after I refinish each leg. Just about any old hardware store should have sex screws in various lengths. You will probably have to keep cleaning off the Gorilla glue since it tends to expand and fill in any gap. The holes for the sex screws will need to be drilled out after the glue is dry before installing them.

The Grand Slam flyer pic on the database looks like the legs should be natural wood with clear finish.
