    SOLD TO ME!
    omaha.craigslist.org link

I'm looking forward to working on this machine. Something very different and I haven't seen a lot of these around. Found one guy on pinballowners (thanks Rob) that has been helping me out that has one and there is a few pictures here:
    http://www.ipdb.org/machine.cgi?id=2145

I found a video of one in action: Genco 400

So it's not really a pinball, but it has more of a pachinko / bingo feel to me. If anyone know more about the history on these, jump in!

So on to the build we go!

First, the the wood frame around the glass needed work, so that needed attention first. The varnish was just flaking off so I lightly sanded it down and revarnished the pine. The other thing I want to do is try to touch up that playing field.

    Still have the original keys!

I'm assuming you are talking about the listing....yes, it was interesting.

Congrats on a neat machine. I love stuff like this.

Heh, Rob is the guy I mentioned in the post that has all the Genco uprights. Great guy. He has a helluva nice pinball collection too.

yes - there was chatter about it over in the endless thread (CL thread, that is).

Just read the CL thread...sorry Pafasa. I didn't know you were involved. Give me a call - at least it has a great story!

After I got the frame back together the varnish turned out pretty nice and the playing field touched up pretty well too.

We are getting there! This thing has 6 stepper units! And they are some funky ones! Check out the one with actual switches on it...kind of a match unit that gives you some extra bonus I think!

I cleaned it up some and I think it's looking pretty good!
Check out that change box....imagine how many dimes you could fit in there!

Look at the black balls....they almost appear to be glass when you hold them up to the light!

Very cool joe! I'll never speak to you again, but very cool!

Just kidding of course. As soon as the seller changed his tune and decided to make a CL auction out of it, I lost interest. Glad you got it! I hope to see it in person some day. Great work on the restore!

Wow so cool and thanks for posting the video. Seems to be kinda a cross between pachinko and pinball.

Great job looks great!!! Is that a player operated flipper type device on the left side of the PF?

Hey Dane...good talking to you yesterday and thanks for not hating me!

Thanks Steve! Here's some videos I put together last night of my machine.

I don't think the jackpot is adding up right just yet, so I need to work on it a little more...but here ya go! First video is showing the inside of the game, second video is regular play, and the third is forced jackpots (that's the part where I think I'm still having problems).

Today I'm going to take apart the two payout stepper units. I just did a quick cleaning last time (sorry, I was lazy) and it got it all working, but after it dried out...the unit was gumming up again. So total break down today and that should fix my jackpot issues.

Overall, these are a lot easier to fix than pinball...not as many moving parts! Tough thing with these old machines is....their old! Over 60 years! We'll be partying soon though!

    #17 10 years ago

I almost bought one of these a last summer... Very cool. Looks like you got a clean example.

    #18 10 years ago

The jackpot was adding just fine when I left...Must I do everything?

    #19 10 years ago

Well it did, till you left! Well, it works a little better now. Here's a better video:

    That looks pretty cool!
