Hello Pinsiders....I have a 1953 Gottlieb Grand Slam which is going to be my first pinball restoration project. I need recommendations on the playfield glass due to what was on it. The glass measures 21" wide and 41 1/4 long. Should I just buy a 21"x 43" and try to trim it? Not really keen on that idea though.

I'm gonna have to check that out then....not really wanting to have one shipped either.

There's no way a 21x43 will fit in it....it would extend way out of the top and the wood lock would never be able to go on

Extra piece of wood that was added at some point

Quoted from Shapeshifter:

All my woodrails from 1950 - 1958 just have standard size glass that fits games now. Some sheets are from B/W games from the 90's. They all seem to fit perfect.
Some had original glass from the 50's - pretty sure they were the same size but untempered, sharp as anything and decided they were too risky to leave on due to safety concerns.

It's all good...that extra piece of wood slides out so as it turns out shapeshifter was right.

The playfield plastics are toast as you can see from the picture. My guess is the sun shining on the machine melted them.

I found that one to, but $31.00 for shipping is way to much.

http://www.pinballrescue.net has some for $78.00 and a more reasonable $10.00 shipping. Plus a free key chain!
