I am about to start my first attempt at a refurb/restoration. I picked up this 1937 Keeney Make or Break and removed the playfield this weekend. I already have a couple questions. Being new here, I am not sure if it is best to start a thread in the restorations sections or post my questions in this thread where there may be a bit more expertise with pre-war machines?

Here are a couple photos. Apologies for the poor lighting.

I will try to get some better photos of the cabinet, legs, and the internals this weekend. The photos I have right now have terrible lighting.

I did a quick visual inspection under the playfield and saw two fairly obvious areas of concern. As you can see in the photos, the area around the coils looks to have received some damage. I haven't put a meter to the coils yet, but I anticipate the worst. The other area is the wiring from the connector to the bell. The rest of the wiring is cloth wrapped, but these wires look like they were lamp cord and the shielding is dry and flaking. I don't think it is burned because it doesn't appear to be melted, but I could be wrong. I don't have any cloth wire, so I am assuming standard 18 gauge wire should be sufficient?

Appreciate the help and feedback. I am really looking forward to reviving this old girl.
