You could JB Weld that broken post back onto the triangular part. A better solution is to may be to carefully drill into the triangular piece, where the post was, and tap the hole, install a small stud. Then thread the spring onto the end of the stud. Only you will know it has been altered.

Another option is to just drill the triangular part, install a stud by epoxying it in place.
