Just want to mention, Spike's specs may be less then what JJP's machines are capable of but Stern is known to take economically viable baby steps. As in- they know how to survive during both high and low production periods. This cheaper system is just another example of that. They're not "cheaping out", they're preping a system that can continue to be manufactured even in slow years but still *compete* visually against other developed products. Key word there is *compete*, not meet or beat. If they go all out with a new wiz-bang machine, then they could potentially out-cost themselves down the road.
