Do you have a BOM? I've been wanting to do a couple of EL Wire things, but never quite understood what was involved. I know the voltage needs to be adjusted

#7 2 years ago

Yeah there a way you can provide links to items needed and a how to?

Can check out all the mods I did when I had TWD here:

https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/twd-club-only-walkers-not-welcome?tq&tu=pomc

I opted to go without the El Wire for my prison fence - El Wire just wasn't the look I wanted. But I also bought El Wire dirt cheap, like $6 for 16' with free shipping. The "relay" (or whatever it is) to connect the El Wire to the GI lighting is only $14. If I recall it was so you could run the El Wire on 5v from the GI.

The Prison fence was just $2 gutter guards from Home Depot.

I still have the El Wire and will keep it for possible use down the road. But yeah, this mod is WAY WAY overpriced considering how cheap the material and parts are.

i bought the fence at home depot in the US ....i don't think the Canadian home depots sell the wire fence....The EL wire was bought from a site in China a couple of years ago...it's straight 12 volt just have to hook it up to your 12 volt 5 volt power box from mezel mods ....the wire comes straight so you have to wrap it around a garden hose and use a heat gun to shape it....can't tell you enough how cool this looks in my game... the parts are out there to do this mod for under $20 canadian
