Dang look at all you LE guys in here! I think im gonna start a new Munsters thread called "poor man Munsters Club" for me and all of my low income Pro buddies on here!

#22 5 years ago
Quoted from Skyemont:

Which thread do i post in. There are about 100 of them.

All of them because Munster Madness is everywhere!!

1 week later
#119 5 years ago

My only disappointment about this game really is the lack of drop targets and Stern usung the big long one shot lights all letters target, but its not enough to steer me away from the game or anything like that. I am struggling though between this game and MBR a little.

There is a lot to love about The Munsters. One thing i personally love for myself is i don't want the lower playfield so i can save a lot of money by buying the Pro. The Munsters is a great great game though and i cant get enough of the videos of it that has been streamed so far. Its a beautiful game.

Munsters or MBR though?

#127 5 years ago

Looks like most people are favoring MB but to be fair nit many people have gotten to play Munsters yet so i wouldn't read too much into that.

#138 5 years ago
Quoted from Cdonnerusmc:

Munsters LE is on order as well as Monster bash LE and it sounds like they may be getting here in a few weeks. Monster bash may be a bit longer ..
[quoted image]

That should keep you happy for awhile!

#179 5 years ago
Quoted from Spacemanratso09:

Never bought a LE till now so I’ve never followed threads on a game at release closely.
Wow man a lot of bashing happening I don’t get it.

I see no reason to believe that this game is going to be anything other than awesome. It may not be the best game ever but it's certainly not a bad game at all. I think this game is going to be a big success.

#181 5 years ago
Quoted from mpnox:

Getting my Pro today, I'll post pics later
EDIT: And I live in Sweden

Congrats on your new game and PLEASE pist some pics for us!

#202 5 years ago

Wow what a beautiful game that is, i’m jealous!!! Love seeing these unboxing pics.

#206 5 years ago
Quoted from mpnox:

Sorry about the picture spam but here are some detail pics.[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Dont be sorry about the pics because we love them! Your pics look fantastic so take as many as you want. Munsters porn for the win!

#213 5 years ago

Nice to know they are putting the brackets in the corners. Its the little things that matter sometimes.

#224 5 years ago
Quoted from SteveMan:

Is the side artwork on these significantly darker in real life than in the promo photos or just an illusion?[quoted image][quoted image]

I would say the 2nd picture is accurate. The first picture is probably just bad lighting or a bad camera.

#233 5 years ago
Quoted from crazypinballguy:

It's official ... last night, my wife and I ordered our first ever NIB from Flip N Out Pinball ... a Munsters Pro!
I had A LOT of questions and LOVE talking pinball ... Zach was AWESOME!! ... He spent almost an hour on the phone answering all my questions and chatting about pinball.
I'm excited to add Munsters to our gameroom!

Congrats on your first new game! Zach will treat you right!

#236 5 years ago
Quoted from crazypinballguy:

Absolutely!
I had never interacted with him before other than watching him on SDTM. My wife and I really enjoy watching the show on YouTube. The chemistry between Zach and Greg is often hilarious!
That being said ... now as a distributor, I know Zach's job is to sell pinball machines, but during our conversation I never felt pressured to buy, (in fact, he told my wife and I to sleep on it, before committing.)
All in all, I feel super confident making our first NIB purchase from him.
** This was NOT a paid endorsement. **

Zach is a good honest guy. If any problems should arise he will take care of you I guarantee it. I remember when i bought my first NIB game it literally almost made me sick after i thought about how much money that i spent on a toy. My gf said you dont seem very happy for a guy that just bought a brand new pinball machine. I just kinda sat there and said i cant explain it but it just doesn’t feel right to spend that kind of money on a pinball machine. After i got it set up and playing it all of those thoughts went away and i was like a kid on Christmas Day. Since then i have bought five more games and i love the first one i bought still just as much as the last one.....no regrets what so ever. I love this hobby!

#240 5 years ago
Quoted from Hollywoodbone:

Ha ha I have that same thing happen with every purchase!!!!!

Yep i know what you mean Greg. My first NIB was the worst experience though. When i say I almost got sick, im not joking one bit. After being in the hobby awhile though and understanding how things work it doesn’t bother me too much because i know that i can sell my games if i wanted to at a minimal loss. Pinball machines are like money in the bank compared to most hobbies that people lose their ass on.

#250 5 years ago
Quoted from Spacemanratso09:

I am starting to wonder about a cliffy to put on the shooter when the game gets to me.
Is there one on the LE I wonder

Not in the shooter lane there wont be.

#255 5 years ago

Thats only for that little side rail though and not the shooter lane. I have some games with cliffys but i also sometimes just put down a piece of removable mylar in the shooter lane like bigd said.

#286 5 years ago
Quoted from Acampero:

Anyone have suggestions as to where to order a Pro from at the best price? Located in So Cal.

Just call all distributors and say i am buying a Munsters game, give me your best price and if you are the lowest you can have my money.....if not better luck next time!

#288 5 years ago
Quoted from Yelobird:

My money is on the New owner Zach at Flippen Out Pinball. A+ treatment from price to delivery. He even through in a John Deere hat with my LE order! lol

I can see Zach now. You walk into his store and here he comes wearing his John Deere or DEKALB hat, cowboy boots and a dip in holding a spit cup and says....yessir can i help ya?

Thats how them good ole Indiana boys are!

#290 5 years ago
Quoted from Yelobird:

Yeah with Gregs mom on his arm. lol

Ohhh lololololol.....OMG!!! I can feel the BUUUUUUUURN all the way over here lmao. We need to make this a sticky post!

#293 5 years ago
Quoted from KLR2014:

Joined the club today. One problem out of the box is a missing piece of wood on the right side at the back of the playfield, but thats cosmetic. Was hoping it would be at the bottom of the cabinet but it was not.
Also installed mirrors which helps a lot but could use some extra spotlights.
The 2 ramps exits in the back screem for a green glowing light.
Love it!
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Man that is beautiful, congrats on your new game! I cant wait to play one.

#294 5 years ago
Quoted from Lonzo:

That’s weird. Seems like it should be around there someplace since it was painted after it was installed. Maybe it’s In the wires bundles under the playfield. Lol

There they go again, just another way to cut cost so Gary can make more $$$.

#300 5 years ago
Quoted from Puffdanny:

10 games in and I'm not finding it "easy"

So you got it set up and playing it huh? Thats awesome, please let us know how you are liking it. Is it everything you expected so far? Fun to shoot?

#302 5 years ago
Quoted from Puffdanny:

Actually mine hasn't arrived yet but we have one on location as of today.it took me 15 games to make it to munster madness and I'm am above average player apparently playing like crap tonight lol.back at it, they close in an hour and if I don't win a free game......grrr

Just give us a mini review as soon as you can. We are all wanting to know how this game is! Enjoy. ....

#304 5 years ago
Quoted from Puffdanny:

Mini review[quoted image]

Lol

#307 5 years ago
Quoted from Puffdanny:

Combo of playing like crap, tired from a 12 hour work day and to tight of tilt at this location.I played 26 games and only 1 good one,it was a little hard to get into when almost every time I would get multiball the game would tilt from just hitting the flippers but it has great flow and although it seems simple on the surface learning to maximize your score is going to be interesting.I enjoyed it but it will benefit from a few code updates I'm sure and could be argued that it needs it now but what stern release hasn't? It didn't really feel like any other game to me but at the same time it felt just like any stern if that makes sense.I think Munster fans will be happy but it's definitely not good enough to overcome a bad theme like Maiden at least not how it sits imo.that being said I can't wait to get mine set up the way I like it and throw the tilt bob in the trash where it belongs.

I dont think anyone expected this game to be as good as IMDN because lets face it, IMDN is pure greatness and one of the best pinball machines ever made imo. Is the game as fun to shoot though as say AS or GOTG or maybe even MET? if so i will take that and hope the code is fun and will get better as time goes by.

#313 5 years ago

So to all of the people complaining about the code on Munsters, are you talking that it is shallow like MB, AFM, MM and other 90's games or even more shallow than that? Im just trying to get a good feel for what all the negativity is about? I gotta believe that this game at least has as good of a code as MB. I would hope so anyway. If it is similar to that i would think that alot of people may actually welcome a pin like that. Not every game has to be GOT deep or TWD deep to be fun.

Help me out here and explain your shallow code complaints a little more in detail please.

#325 5 years ago
Quoted from ShinyBall:

I'm kinda sick of the bitchin' you want more??

Not really, just trying to understand why all the disapointment is all. This game means a lot to me and i don't want to be disappointed. BM66 wasn't what i hoped it would be so im hoping the Munsters works out for me. These are my two most well liked themes. I guess i will find out tomorrow night for myself.

#337 5 years ago
Quoted from crazypinballguy:

I also love the BM66 theme, along with Munsters. In fact, I have an ad running on Pinside for a used BM66. What didn't you like about it?
Sorry, if this is straying off topic ... I'm fairly new here (less than a year.) Not sure if I should have sent you a PM or if it's fine to post this in the thread.

I dont hate BM66, i just dont love it like i want to. Theres a lot of great things about the game and its fun but i just don't enjoy it enough to spend the money on one. I am going to play Munsters tomorrow though and they have a BM66 so i will drop a few quarters in it and give it a try again. Its a cool game.though for sure and its freakin beautiful also.

#338 5 years ago

You guys with your new Munsters pins are making me very jealous!

#348 5 years ago
Quoted from 1956PINHEAD:

So I've watched Jack Danger playing the pro and premium versions. I have pretty much decided that I'm going to buy one or the other. Jack stated in the video (while playing at CES) he was a "Pro Boy", I think he likes the way it playes better than the premium/LE. When I watched Borg playing it with Dwight at Stern it seemed Jack was liking it better. What's the consensus of those on this thread who wants to reply. Thanks

Thats what i took away from the stream as well but i didn't need him to tell me the pro plays better because i could see it with my own eyes. Im not a fan of lower playfields at all.

#367 5 years ago
Quoted from JMK:

Fantastic to hear some really positive reviews. Just what the doctor ordered lol.
I absolutely love this theme and I can’t wait to be playing my LE (hopefully in the next month).
Looking forward to seeing more of these unboxings.

I agree and i was a little worried that this game wasn’t going to be that good after listening to what some people were saying. All of my fears have been put to rest after playing it tonight. I absolutely LOVE this game! Its easy and simple and a little light on code but its just fun as hell to play, and holy sh*t is it gorgeous!

#370 5 years ago
Quoted from pinhacker71:

who-dey where did you play it. I’m not too far from you and am wanting to put some time on it.

Arcade Legacy Bar Edition on Spring Grove Ave. in Cincinnati. Great place and a bunch of good people there!

#377 5 years ago
Quoted from crazypinballguy:

I'll probably be plunging the first ball around 2pm EST.
We're pretty excited, it's our first ever NIB.

Ok then we expect a review around 2:15 or so!

No really though we do expect one sometime tonight. You are going to love this game!

#400 5 years ago
Quoted from bigd1979:

Man its so beautiful and vibrant

Even better in person and it has a nice light show also.

#412 5 years ago

The outlanes on the one i played didnt seem bad at all. What did you think about the code? Do you think it will be deep enough to satisfy most people?

#417 5 years ago
Quoted from 1956PINHEAD:

Reading everyone's posts today I am really looking forward to picking up my Pro version tomorrow. I will post some photos when I get it set up. Thanks to those in this thread that responded to my earlier posts, was on the fence between Pro and Premium but chose the Pro after doing a little more research and reading more of the postings and reviews.

There are no bad choices with this game here, all 3 models are great. Congrats on your new game. You are going to love it.

#438 5 years ago
Quoted from Bublehead:

1956pinhead Congrats on your purchase. Local arcade gets one in about a week. Can’t wait to flip a Premium at TPF.

You better get on the phone now and cancel that MBR Bubblehead! Munster Madness is running wild and all the cool kids are getting one. Don't be the guy that gets left behind!

#441 5 years ago
Quoted from Bublehead:

I got to flip it first Who-dey, I just can’t pull the trigger without playing a pin.

Im just messing with you. I wouldn't cancel that beauty either if i was you. I would like to have Munsters and MBR side beside to see which one i like the best. I think Munsters will give MB a run for its money!

#443 5 years ago
Quoted from Bublehead:

And I know it, but I am going to rag on you and the many benefits of the mini pf on the Premium FoReVeR! “Who-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!” said Dr. Creep

If Munsters was any more fun with the lower playfield i don't think i could stand it. Im still considering all options but i really loved the pro model that i played the other night.

#456 5 years ago

I just dont let it worry me much. As long as i like it thats all i care about. The people complaining do have some valid points and i wont deny that but the game is still fun as hell. Will it stay that way long term? I don't know but i think it will because i don't get bored of games easily like a lot of people do and the theme will always make me smile no matter what.

Do you have any idea how many times that ive been told that my Ghostbusters Premium sucks and is a horrible game? I LOVE that game! Ive been told Aerosmith sucks also alot, love that game too. Theres not a game out there that doesnt get hated on by somebody.

The Munsters is a awesome game and im going to be proud to have it in my collection. I'll sit it right in between Ghostbusters and Aerosmith and call that section of games Skid Row or something.

#493 5 years ago
Quoted from FLpinball:

Munsters Pro in the house! If I was I intelligent enough I would post a pic! Shout out to Randy at Got Pinball here in Florida. Pinball is all about fun for me...and this game doesn’t disappoint.

Nice!!! Happy for you Charlie, glad you like it!

#566 5 years ago
Quoted from vex:

I was a little bummed out before receiving the machine from all the bitching here but thankfully that negative stench vanished as soon as I played the game.

Nothing wrong with this game at all. Is it perfect? No its not but its damn good!

#590 5 years ago
Quoted from pinballaddicted:

I am very interested to see how they hold up in 10 years time

The ones in our homes will be fine in 10 years for sure. There is also the 2 Star Trek and Mideival Madness document threads where i know the Star Trek i think has around 30K plays and still looks good.

Heres how i look at it, in a hundred years i aint gonna give a F*ck what my playfields look like!

#607 5 years ago
Quoted from mpnox:

SPOILER ALERT!
So here is a short clip of the Midnight Mode if you want to see it.
Interesting just when I filmed the clip and tried to play one handed the game resets at the end. Wierd, I have not had any problems with that before and I tried several times after and I could not repeat it. Will report it to Stern.

I didn't want to look but i had to. That is really cool!

#609 5 years ago

Dead Flip doing a Munsters launch party on Twitch right now!

#612 5 years ago
Quoted from Budman:

Who Dey, did you order a Pro?

Not yet, soon i hope. How are you liking yours?

#642 5 years ago
Quoted from MK6PIN:

So a lonely space sits as TZ is in the hands of the master known as @HEP.....Wonder what might fill this spot as the game room prepares for a reset ( hint...Clock)
[quoted image]

That Munsters clock looks awesome!

#695 5 years ago
Quoted from JMK:

Well, the not so good reviews have made their way on to the Club thread.
Sounds like lack of code at this point is going to present a challenge for many players and owners.
Just to play a bit of devils advocate, when I plunge a ball on my Addams, I find myself immersed in the game. I love the theme all the way through- including the art, lighting, sounds, music, callouts, straght forward and fairly simple rules as well as the shot geometry of the game. I don’t find it repetitive, just a really fun experience.
If my Munsters LE (which I’m keeping my name on) provides a similar all immersive feeling, I think my family will still really enjoy it.
However, if the code on Munsters truly feels stale or pointless; and the mini-pf is simply a gimmick, I will def be disappointed as this is one of my fave themes.
Man, I can’t recall the last time I was both excited at getting a NIB game while feeling so much apprehension.

JMK dont worry brother you are going to love your new game. I will eat my shorts if you don't!

#711 5 years ago
Quoted from Spacemanratso09:

For real waiting on my LE is just killing me send me the damn thing already

Hey at least it's coming! Im still trying to save up for mine so kiss my azz you ungrateful b@stard!

#714 5 years ago
Quoted from JMK:

Here north of the boarder, I’m not getting any updates on LE delivery. Mind you, we’re in the middle of a bad snow storm again.
Every time I look at the photos, I get more and more excited.

I cant wait until you guys start getting your LE's. I bet they are going to be sharp!

#717 5 years ago
Quoted from v8torino:

So this Munsters Pro is my first NIB Stern.............how seasoned are these playfields ?? You hear and read about all the playfield concerns on Pinside.
How long ago do you think they were made and is all the clear and processes used on these playfields had time to cure and harden properly before shipping them to us guys and operators fortunate to afford such a nice " Luxury Toy "

It will be ready to use as soon as you set it up. If its cold i would probably let the game set for several hours and warm up but other than that set it up and play the hell out of it. Don't listen to all the BS on this site. Stern playfields are just fine. They will have a problem once in awhile im sure but everything manufactured has problems occasionally.

P.S. Oh yeah, its going to dimple also. That is normal so dont freak out when it does. It will look better and better the more you play your game.

#732 5 years ago
Quoted from Gritty:

My theory is it’s not the clear, it’s the softer wood they are using. I have never seen dimples in a CPR playfield.

You haven't looked hard enough. No wood is harder than steel.

#735 5 years ago
Quoted from BenetBoy78:

Actually there are natural woods from the amazon that are harder than some manufactured steel, especially the steel from China. Impure recipe. Too much slag. Lol.

Well i know that my wood is harder than steel but im not sure about China's wood?

#741 5 years ago
Quoted from jbug:

it would have been nice to have an option to adjust light levels.

You should be able to adjust the back box lighting and maybe even the intensity of the playfield lighting too but im not sure. Turn the back box lighting down to 10% during gameplay though and that will eliminate the glare from the back box on the glass while you are playing. You can also adjust the brightness of the back box while its in attract mode as well. Hope this helps, congrats on your new game.

#744 5 years ago
Quoted from wesman:

Did you get to try and play it out in the wild again? They got an LE at Helicon near me, and I'm tempted to go give it a whirl!
Are you any closer to buying yours?

Hey wesman, i am getting ready to go play Munsters today again actually but no LE' in my area yet unfortunately. I am getting close to getting my game yes, i kinda want to see what people are saying about the lower playfield first so im not in a major hurry but i will be getting a Munsters very soon for sure.

Please go play that LE and let us know what you think about the lower playfield, i am sure lots of people would love to hear your thoughts about it!

#769 5 years ago

Played a Munsters Pro for the 2nd time today and still find this game very fun and i will be owning one soon. Gotta have it!

#771 5 years ago
Quoted from 1956PINHEAD:

I now have 245 games on my Pro, and I'm really enjoying it. The deeper you get into the levels the better the music gets too. The Midnight Madness mode on this game is great, always fun to experience it. The only negative for me so far is the right outlane, hard to keep the ball from exiting even when nudging. Ran an audit to get a comparison of left side Vs right side drains, right side is about 30% higher rate than the left which makes sense when you look at how the posts and lanes are configured. So all I need to do is keep that ball away from that right outlane

You could also move the outlane post in and close that gap up a little bit if you wamted to. That would cut down on the drains a little bit.

#782 5 years ago

Look at that shit eating grin on violin Steve! Lol

#783 5 years ago
Quoted from 1956PINHEAD:

Yes, in fact I had planned to make that adjustment today, but not sure it is going to help that much. If you look at the other location to set the post it isn't that much of a change, but still going to make the change and see how it goes. For those that are interested I'll report back after a few games with the results.

It helps more than you would think. Its not extremely huge but definitely noticeable. I moved mine in on GB because the game is so brutal and im really glad that i did because even though the difference was minimal, anything help at all was welcomed on that drain monster! It made the game more fun.

#785 5 years ago

Steve we expect a full report by this evening so just know that we are all waiting!!

#805 5 years ago
Quoted from Ven:

It is a pretty big oversight by stern to not recess the shooter lane ramp and expecting people to take a dremel and grind on the ramp of their new pin is pretty ridiculous. Like I mentioned when I decided to try to move the ramp a bit there were already three sets of screw holes in the wood under the ramp so it's not like they didn't know it was an issue.

Ive only heard of two people having a problem so far and ive played two different games that were just fine so i doubt this is a widespread issue.

#829 5 years ago
Quoted from chuckwurt:

Just needed a lubed up ram

#832 5 years ago
Quoted from cooked71:

Are you from New Zealand?

No he's from"Kin"tucky...you know brothers, sisters, cousins etc? Nevermind this isn't the place to talk about these things. Just PM him and he will fill you in on everything.

P.S. Have you ever seen that movie called Wrong Turn?

#834 5 years ago
Quoted from TomDK:

In the club ... out the club.
After exactly 19 days in my gameroom the Munsters Pro will leave today ...
Nice flow and fast game, but thats it.... boring. Maybe the software updates will change something but they can not change the emty playfield.
I cought myself after a bad first ball starting a new game, getting all characters in every 3. game. Dragrace is boring and a show stopper. The jackpot there on the left is boring and a show stopper. To 90% I stopped the jackpot to get back in game. The sound is bad, too many layers at the sametime. Animations are funny .. for the first 3 times ...
Good news .. the pin will stay in my pinball league so I have chances to play it later .....

Wow

#862 5 years ago
Quoted from wyopin:

Way thrilled stern has started putting on cliffy-styled protectors!!
[quoted image]

How are you liking your game so far Wyopin? Have you got to play it much yet?

#866 5 years ago
Quoted from wyopin:

Didn’t get to play it too much, but have been loving it so far. Shoots like butter right out of the box...those ramps are perfect. Franchi nailed the artwork too...it looks amazing in person. The mirrored back glass is stunning. The lower playfield is a little tricky and the response is odd because the flippers and balls are so tiny...but it’s a decent novelty and it looks like it belongs...overall I like the lower playfield (it kind of reminds me of those little toy pinball machines you’d play as a kid).
The game really caters to the backhand shots.
The ball does seem to bounce a bit sometimes, though..got it stuck up on herman’s arm once where I had to pull the glass (maybe just need to mess with the angle). I do like the sounds and show clips. The music doesn’t seem overplayed and complimented the gameplay very well. Still don’t fully understand the ruleset but I see plenty to shoot and I’m sure that will get refined in upcoming code.
So far, I’m thrilled with my purchase, and I’m looking forward to getting more flips in on it.

That's great, glad to hear that you are liking it. You can also turn the mini playfield off in the settings if you sometimes didn't want to play with it on. The game is gorgeous and i bet the mirrored backglass is stunning.

Lot of complaints as you know about the code but i have played a pro now twice and i really enjoyed it a lot. The game is so beautiful that i just enjoy looking at it as crazy as that may sound, and me loving the theme helps a lot also of course.

I think this game will do just fine in a larger collection for sure even if it does have a shallow code. I dont really get bored of games if they are fun and they shoot good so i dont think thats going to be a problem for me at all. Congrats on your new game and please keep us updated!

#867 5 years ago
Quoted from bigd1979:

Of course my game is finally supposed to be here tomorrow or fri after all the factory delays..... and now we have 6+ inches of snow and 1/4,inch of ice on the ground. Not sure what I'm gonna do but ill find a way to get it in the house and set up lol.

We want some pics bigd when you get it! I bet the wait is killing you!

#869 5 years ago
Quoted from wyopin:

Oh...forgot to mention, the game looks a lot brighter than the pro with the lower playfield in there. That’s not to take away anything from the gameplay of the pro...it’s just to to address the complaints of the game being too dark
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

I bet that does make a big difference. I dont really find the Pro to be too dark truthfully like a lot of people say and im getting to be blind as a bat. Seems ok to me, could be better i guess but i wouldn't say its bad.

Was just informed that my Monster Bash LE & Munsters LE will del on the same day..$$ expensive month

Exciting day and happy to share first pics of Munsters LE #122.
I was also fortunate to have my BM66 Premium delivered at the same time.
Both are very fun titles.
For Munsters LE, the pin plays extremely fast and very smoothly. All shots flow seamlessly on my example with no shooter lane issues nor disruptions from the mini PF.
Theme integration is spot on- lcd clips, music, callouts and sounds are all terrific.
Colour changing led light show is perfect and the LE is not dark through the middle of the game due to the mini pf having some really nice ambient lighting.
The ramps and loops are amazing. All shots are easy to hit with little to no clunk.
The mirrored backglass is very sharp and the cabinet looks attractive overall.
In person, I don’t find the lockdown bar and rails to look quite as mismatched as they show in photos. I actually had to point it out to my family or they wouldn’t have noticed.
The lower pf is fun but does have a bit of a novelty factor to it.
However, what is neat about the mini pf is the variety of shots: 2 orbits, vuk, middle bash toy, right ramp and chance for a 2 ball multiball.
It won’t be everyone’s cup of tea but it’s better than I expected and will take some practice to master it.
The next most divisive element of this pin is gong to be the code.
There is no doubt the ruleset as it stands now is fairly shallow.
The game is also quite easy and thus good players may get to Munster Madness quite regularly.
I’m hoping that Dwight adds some polish and depth; but if the game is truly mostly coded: I’m not sure this is the ideal pin for highly skilled players nor those who have either a small game set-up or don’t absolutely love The Munster’s.
In my collection of games, I have a mix of some deeper games (like Maiden, DI and newly arrived BM66 and some on the shallower side like Deadpool, MB and TAFG).
My family and I enjoy a variety of gameplay and The Munsters will be a fun game to flip. Only time will tell if it has longer term appeal.
Pics attached below. I have to stagger my pins due to space restrictions which is why they appear different in size.

Game looks gorgeous and you have a sweet lineup of games, congrats!

Quoted from Pinhead1982:

Not got my LE yet,
Holds a centimental value as used to watch it with my Dad when I was younger.
It’s a limited edition plaque- but not the one I would wish for
Still it’s my way of remembering
[quoted image]

That is awesome Pinhead. Sorry to hear about your father.

Quoted from Rum-Z:

Sorry about your Dad passing Pinhead, but it's awesome that you enjoyed The Munsters together. My Dad turned me onto pinball way back when I was a kid, but he passed away before I got my first machine. If he could only see the resurgence that pinball has experienced. Everytime I play I think about him and I feel that he's with me in spirit, which is cool. I hope you'll feel that too.

That plaque is a great tribute to his dad. I guarantee you that game will be bolted to the floor forever!

#927 5 years ago
Quoted from 1956PINHEAD:

Well Who-Dey, you blew my surprise! I was going to spring these cool looking additions and post photos of my clock and lamp next to my game next week. I ordered both the clock and lamp last Monday, I'll have them nex Tuesday. I recall that I think the run is limited to like 250 or something like that. I think Bradford is going to get hit with a lot of orders in the very near future!
Can't wait to see how they look, I will post a few photos next week.

Lol oh man sorry about that. We still want pics though. I hated to spend that much money on those 2 items but i wanted them bad. I kept looking at them and my gf said just buy them both, you work hard and you deserve it. She finally talked me into it and i ordered them.

They only charged my pay pal for one item though today and that worries me a little. Im hoping the other item isnt out of stock, that would be a bummer. You may have bought the last one and now I can't have them both!

#928 5 years ago
Quoted from Pinhead1982:

Thanks for the kind words all.
Yeah the game will be one to keep, despite the shallow code
We used to watch all the 60s TV programmes together - Munsters was one of our favourite..
His passing was a unexpected and very
Quick, but got to tell him I loved him before he went.

You should buy the Munsters dvd collection also and watch them all again. I caught it on sale a while back and only paid like 15 bucks at best buy for them. Im glad you got to talk to your Dad before he passed, im sure that meant a lot to him and you both.

Quoted from pinballaddicted:

Yes I agree with you, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I love MB too. Did you buy a Munsters pinball machine? Out of respect to Pinsiders that have dropped a considerable amount of coin on this game, this is an owners club. Plenty of negativity on the other Munsters threads for you to add to.

Amen....well said!

Quoted from drfrightner:

There are some really tough guys on this board let me tell you. Talk tough, show little respect for other opinions. First off to the idiots who assume I'm selling something I'm not. I own a huge haunted house and inside that haunted house we have corporate party room where we have 11 pinball games all horror themed. I bought Munsters LE without ever seeing it because it will fit in nice as a THEME!
I think I clearly said to the idiots who can't read, that I have not seen or played the LE only reviewed the PRO. Sorry the PRO IS BORING ULTRA BORING.
If it's so great then why has it already fallen into the middle of the top 100 and I would bet will sink even more soon because the game is a BORE!
I'm entitled to my opinion without a bunch of stern can do no wrong idiots trashing me.
Fact is Stern could spend more time on their games to try and make something original do something different. Why not make the games wifi ready, put camera's in, create some technology so you can play against friends in other locations, make updates automatic without USB sticks. Or how about just make a game that is totally original without copying games you previously made.
That is my opinion.

Respect is earned and with your attitude you will never get any respect, especially around here. You are brand new here and you're calling people idiots and tough guys and telling them they cant read because they are from a certain city etc. You're off to a very poor start and if you don't change your attitude you wont last long here at all.

Ranking means absolutely nothing, especially on a new game and some people are of the opinion that the pro is the best model because they hate lower playfields.

Thats awesome, glad you are loving it. It looks amaze balls thats for sure. The LE is sharp!

Quoted from guss:

Thinking about buying a pro. Any good reviews about it ? Cant afford to buy a Le. Would like a Monster bash but the same problem.

You have the same delima as i do right now, MBR or Munsters? I hope to own both eventually but i gotta decide which one i want now. Both games have some advantages over one another. I wish i could find a MB close to me to play but there’s none around unfortunately. Such a tough decision.

#1166 5 years ago
Quoted from 1956PINHEAD:

For Who-Dey & guss, I went on line today and took a look at MBR out of curiosity due to some of the prior posts and knowing Who-Dey was trying to decide which way to go, Munster's or MBR. If it helps I will offer up one of the significant descriminators for me if I was trying to decide would be DMD Vs actual modern display user interface.
Having played both (like most of us these days) I just find it real hard to buy a NIB game with a DMD user interface. I know perhaps the DMD in MBR is an attempt to keep the remake true to its roots, but man there is just no comparison in how the newer interface just adds to the overall pinball experience of a new game. Perhaps others posting here can weigh in as well with their views on this or other aspects, but this one difference would move me to Munsters. Having this game for 3 weeks now and having played almost 300 games on it you might get the idea I really really enjoy this game, and play it everyday. I hope this helps.

Yep that’s definitely a big positive for Munsters. MB has some really great interactive toys so that is a plus for it. It also is beautiful, a great shooter, and in my opinion it has a fun rule set too. So you got:

Both games have equally great themes
Both games are equally gorgeous
Both games shoot really well.

Munsters has a lcd screen +1
MBR has great toys +1

So that leaves us with

Best rules?
Enjoyability?

Hmm

#1168 5 years ago
Quoted from 1956PINHEAD:

Well then I think we call that the Spin Cycle, only one way out of that dilemma, and you know what that is right, better buy them both. So it's easy, just decide which one to buy first

I definitely want them both, thats already been decided there. Which one do i buy first is the big delimma or maybe which game is the best i should say. I want the one that is the most fun first!

#1172 5 years ago
Quoted from Spacemanratso09:

Do neither wait and get the Premium B&W and give lower playfields another chance man!! this one is great and real fun

I love the black and white premium a lot as well. I wouldn't rule it out but i really like Munsters Pro a lot as well and that gives me money toward another game. I dont hate the lower playfield, matter of fact i think its beautiful but i just think its a feature that i can live without. Its the nicest lower playfield in pinball history imo.

#1173 5 years ago

I will say this also. The fact that i am even struggling to decide which game i purchase next says a lot about the Munsters because Monster Bash is one of the greatest pinball machines ever made for sure.

#1176 5 years ago
Quoted from Hillel:

Anxiously waiting to hear word about my Munsters LE shipping, so congrats to all the lucky ones who received one already. Thanks to those folks for sharing your awe, positivity and photos. My distributor told me that Stern is shipping the LE's before the topper is done, and that it will ship at a later date. That doesn't sound right to me, especially when the Game Feature Matrix makes no mention of a topper. This will be my first Stern game, so can anyone tell me their history regarding toppers please? I'm also hoping that Stern is aware of all the valid concerns expressed on these boards about their expanding list of unfinished game codes, and that they make code updates and customer satisfaction top priorities for all their games. Never more, never more!

Toppers usually dont come out until after the game has been out awhile unfortunately but there will be a topper for this game. As far as code goes, they have been doing very well in coding these games since they hired some more people in that area. Game codes take awhile and dont happen over night so just remember that.

Also don't let all the negative talk discourage you and just enjoy your game and the code updates that will be coming. Some of the code talk definitely has some merit but some people on here try to make people believe that stern code and code updates are horrible, simply not true. With that being said though i would like to see my Ghostbusters code finished!

#1178 5 years ago
Quoted from Thunderbird:

Still looking at buying, but this is a big issue to me. How do we turn off that seizure inducing strobing if desired?

I know GOT you can turn down the lighting effects, hopefully that will be in this code as well. I have played Munsters though several times and it never seemed to bother me. Its nothing like some of the lighting effects on Game of Thrones, now those are a little overpowering for sure.

#1182 5 years ago
Quoted from Hillel:

Thanks for that refreshing perspective Who-Dey. There is an abundance of negativity on these boards, but I try to consider the source and defer to this being an extremely enjoyable new hobby for me, and prefer to keep it that way. So different than the case with Chicago Gaming who ships their MBr LE with a topper (I'm still waiting), I assume that since Stern has yet to produce the Munsters topper, there will be an extra charge if one wants a topper for their Munsters LE when it is eventually released. Is that right?

Yes there will be an extra charge, usually 400 dollars i think for the toppers. You would think the LE's would come with a topper but Stern doesnt do that unfortunately. Definitely try and stay away from all the negativity and have fun. Im not suggesting that everything is perfect by any means but this a great hobby and there is lots of reasons to be happy about the choices we have in pinball today. This is a great time to be in this hobby and the Munsters is a awesome game!

#1184 5 years ago
Quoted from Flippingr8:

Here is a huge big +++ for Munsters, imho: the Munsters theme music, both during the game and at the end of the game. Its positively awesome! Munsters had probably one of the best TV show opening and closing credits music of all time. I could listen to that all day!

Lol yep me too. I love it! Ive been watching all of the episodes and im having fun watching them. I cant believe the show only lasted two seasons.

#1214 5 years ago
Quoted from GamerRick:

Come on Who-Dey you love The Munsters more than anyone. I will be sad if you don’t get one! You deserve to be happy bro, that’s what pinball is all about...

I’m sitting here having a beer(s) and watching a Munsters stream on Twitch and listening to all of you braggers talk about your games and showing off your lamps and shit and ive just decided the hell with it! im getting a Munsters Pro. Will be ordering this week probably so take that Bitches!

#1232 5 years ago
Quoted from bigd1979:

Hopefully you can find one in stock from the first batch... otherwise you may be waiting a bit.

Oh ok nice bigd just rain all over my parade why dont you!

I never even thought about it but you are probably right. I can wait if i have to, not a big deal. Im sure it wont be too long before they make some more.

#1235 5 years ago
Quoted from bigd1979:

Sorry not my intention....Now if u got a premium you cld probably have it much sooner. Call around tho..... id bet someone has a pro stashed away.

I think i just want the pro honestly. If i gotta wait it wont be long. They will do a run of pros soon I guarantee it. I gotta get some surgery done on my dog also so I’ll need the money that i save for that.

#1237 5 years ago
Quoted from 1956PINHEAD:

As a side note I'm headed here in a couple weeks. Went last year, over 400 Pins, old EM's to current day stuff. Pinball machines lined up row after row after row. I'm hoping there might be a Munster's Premium there to play. JJP was there last year so most likely will be this year as was Chicago Gaming
[quoted image]

400 games? Hooooooly crap, thats pinball heaven Pinhead! You know there’s going to be a Munsters LE there probably.

#1294 5 years ago
Quoted from Spacemanratso09:

Midnight madness started on my game then the game died and restarted so I turned back the time and tried it again and the same thing happened
Game goes dead then says “restarting”
Anyone know what gives ?

I think some peoples games are doing that unfortunately. Im sure it will be fixed in future code updates. Sounds like you are loving your game though other than that, thats awesome!

Quoted from Flippingr8:

Shaker motor test is in the coil menu.
I like the shaking, just don't like the noise that comes with it. I'll have to look around and see if I can figure out what is vibrating that isn't supposed to.

I got a couple of games that just shake the hell out of my games when the shaker is on. I just turned them off and i honestly dont miss them that much. Seems like some games work perfectly with a shaker and others don't.

#1364 5 years ago
Quoted from 2manypins:

Shooter ramp does need to be "flattened" a little or recessed in.

I have seen people talking about this but ive played 2 pros on location and i never noticed any problems with the shooter lane or the auto or manual plunging.

Is this a problem or isnt it? Im close to ordering a pro but if there is some type of design flaw id rather wait.

#1369 5 years ago
Quoted from Ven:

Was/is an issue on my pro.

Did you resolve the problem? The only thing im not understanding is how on earth did Stern forget to recess the ramp into the shooter lane? Do all the other games that they have built have the ramps recessed into the shooter lanes?

#1372 5 years ago
Quoted from snaroff:

Weird...TRON is recessed, both Beatles and Munsters aren't recessed. Maybe it's part of the Spike "platform" (just kidding

If its truly a problem its more than weird, its flat out f*cking stupid.

Quoted from Spacemanratso09:

Quoted from Macca101010:

Received my Bradford Exchange Munsters Koach today. Lights up and plays the Munsters song. Could make as a nice topper, let's see what Stern come up with.[quoted image]

That's cool Macca! I got the lamp and the cuckoo clock. The lamp is very detailed and high quality and my clock i think is going to be even cooler. It should be here tomorrow. That car sure would look good sitting beside my lamp!

#1477 5 years ago
Quoted from JMK:

kidchrisso: Great suggestion!
I turned down both the lower and upper pf flippers to “soft”; and agreed, the lower pf shots feel more controlled. Right ramp is now also registering fine.
I even prefer the feel of the flipper setting on the regular/upper flippers.
Love the seamless flow of this pin.
Every time I turn this pin on, hear the music and flip a ball, it brings a smile to my face.

Glad you guys are enjoying your game, Munsters is awesome!

#1486 5 years ago
Quoted from ShinyBall:

Got my LE today..no issues.. the shooter lane ramp was beveled/filed from the factory..yeah!
The lower playfield had a little smudge (dusty). no big deal..happy happy happy!
Received my Monsterbash LE today also..absolutely perfect..what a day!!!
WoW Wow Wow....I love it when things come together!

Today was like Christmas day for you, but like 1000 times better!

Quoted from J-drum11:

Question for Le owners.
I’m a huge Munsters fan and really wanted this theme but, after playing the pro It wasn’t for me.
Do you think the LE or premium is enough to sway my decision to still get one?
On another note this was my front bass drum head for years ! Now on the wall!
Thought you might like?!
[quoted image]

The only difference is the mini playfield so im just guessing this game may not be for you but im not sure whats not to like about this game? What didn't you enjoy about it?

#1496 5 years ago
Quoted from J-drum11:

To me it just felt a little empty!
I like everything else about it .
I rather have a color machine.
I’m not bashing it by any means. I really was looking forward to it and was hoping the premium was going to be color so, that also throws my decision off!
As for seeing a premium or le in person? It will be highly unlikely at the places I go to so, I was trying to get more input because, I may have to wing it if I decide to go for a premium or LE .
It’s the theme that keeps drawing me in.
Huge Munsters fan!

Oh man i really love the black and white premium. I think it fits this theme perfectly and the artwork that Chris Franchi put on it is just amazing. Im not going to say anything stupid like this is the best game ever made but i tell ya what, its damn good.

Im the opposite of you though. I don't want the lower playfield but the black and white artwork on the premium almost convinced me to buy a Premium. Im a Munsters fan also and this is dream theme for me.

#1505 5 years ago
Quoted from Ifpaadam:

Are there any premiums in the world yet?

Not yet, it'll be a week or two looks like.

Quoted from GamerRick:

Well first my dealer was supposed to be here yesterday at 4:00 pm, then 6:00 pm, then 7:00 pm, but, he finally made it! Number 16 is in the house! Got it set up last night about 10:00 pm. Played until I couldn’t see anymore. First impressions - this pin is awesome! I don’t know why hardly anyone would complain about anything, but to each his own. Shoots like butter, the shots are real fun and grandpa’s laboratory is the best lower playfield I have ever seen. Quite a few unique shots and crazy fun to play. I set my lower flippers to soft after trying hard and I totally agree that’s a better setting but I like the main flippers on default hard setting. The game is gorgeous - even better than I imagined, and the lower playfield is much bigger in person than I expected. I don’t see any shallow code yet but I’m only an average player. Maybe expert players might find the code shallow but so far I think this machine is an incredibly well designed and integrated system. Call outs, light show, video clips all seemlessly integrated. I love this thing! It’s a keeper for me. Definitely some hard drains and could not call this machine “easy” which is a good thing! Thrilled with the purchase. Lily and Dragula single targets didn’t bother me at all. I do have some dust on the lower playfield like others. Only complaint the lower ball install could have been designed much better.
Back to playing.... [quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Glad I'm not alone....went from getting my name up on about everything the first bit....now, after 82 plays, thing is kicking my ass...I think hitting Spot is one of the most satisfying shots on a machine currently..pretty tight and the ball always seems to have pace when he pops up.....it's like the damn game is just going to explode or something....

I don’t mind it MK. But my worry is it is so strong and so long it will shake multiple parts loose over time that otherwise wouldn’t

I only use the shakers on my GB and MET occasionally because of that very reason. It can and does happen.

#1852 5 years ago
Quoted from MK6PIN:

Interesting....just looked at the "is shakers causing node board failures in spike games" thread, and the poll didn't really seem to clarify.
On one hand, it would make sense, on the other, so many games (thousands) have them, and they are a consistent upgrade for many. Seems if there was a real metric attached to failure, there would be a warning or something...

I'm not neccessarily talking about node board failures MK, mostly just screws getting vibrated loose and stuff like that.

#1853 5 years ago

When you find a few screws and nuts etc laying in the bottom of your cabinet sometimes its really hard to figure out where they came from. Sometmes you can't find out where they came from at all lol.

#1868 5 years ago
Quoted from Bundy:

On SAM games, as MET, you can use a simple PWM controler to adjust the shaker to your liking.

Thank you, I will look into that.

Or even perhaps... a Munsters pinball machine?

Yes Sir, definitely getting one of those.

I’ve had a blast playing the LE. The lower playfield was just as good as I hoped.

I hope i can feel the same way about the lower playfield as you do. That would be epic for me and the icing on cake. I also gotta get that topper. That thing is just sick!

Quoted from Spacemanratso09:

i Like the lower playfield cause one trip you spot on hit everything and you think well I have that nailed
Next trip your flailing away trying to at least get mystery
Not a gimme great toy

Well one thing is for certain. Even if it sucks, its going to be beautiful to look at right?

#1954 5 years ago

If the pics of that topper are real its a must have.

I wish the Premium had been color, it would have saved me some money.

Why? That black and white artwork is sexy as a mo fo!

#2070 5 years ago
Quoted from 1956PINHEAD:

it was a big hit as it was played non stop with a line waiting to play it for pretty much the entire day.

Now why on earth would all of those people stand in line all day long like that to play such a shitty game? Did they not see all of the Munsters pinball bashing on here or what???

#2076 5 years ago
Quoted from Spacemanratso09:

So glad I went with the LE for sure but after playing the pro I considered switching to it not for the money reason but after I left there I had a good feeling about it the pro is nice I thought about it for sure
Now the lower playfield WITH the B&W holy smokes now your talking the thing is sick
They are all so different
Little jealous of the guys getting the B&W

No reason to be jealous about the black and white artwork. The pictures look amazing but seeing it in person will let us know if its the real deal or not. Even if the black and white is awesome, the color will always be awesome too. All three models are pure sexiness!

#2078 5 years ago
Quoted from Jackalwere:

It's cool and different, just not for me.

Its different for sure. When i first heard that the premium was black and white i was so bummed because i had planned on buying a premium but i didn't think the black and white would look good. When they revealed it though i was like holy sh*t i like the black and white the best of all three models!

Now after seeing how beautiful the color is in person im worried that the black and white may not look as good as the color lol. I think its going to look really good though and its definitely unique. Theres not many themes that could pull off a black and white pinball machine but The Munsters might just be the perfect theme to do just that. We will see soon because the Premiums will be hitting peoples homes in a few days probably.

How the Premiums going at TPF??!

Just listened to Kanedas podcast and he said that the Premium is drop dead gorgeous. He said the black and white is better looking than the LE and that it makes you smile every time that you look at it. He said it is one of the sexiest pinball machines ever made. I cant wait to get mine!

#2233 5 years ago

Im kind of surprised we haven't heard more about the black and white premiums? I thought it would be a hot topic regardless of whether people love it or hate it.

#2245 5 years ago
Quoted from jfh:

What are you expecting to hear? At TPF it seems like people prefer the b/w art 3 to 1 over the Pro and most agree that it is far more stunning in person than in pictures.
Designer John Borg had an LE reserved and cancelled it to get a Premium instead because he really liked the black and white art package. He is a huge fan of the Munsters and had a crush on Marilyn when he was a kid (This is Pat Priest’s last show, so he took the opportunity to propose to her. She asked if he liked older women, but I don’t believe she gave him an answer. My wife has the picture on her phone, but someone posted one in another thread) .
Dwight has new code running that fixes some of the issues noted in .96 and made it clear to anyone that asked that the game code was pretty much done (translation: anyone expecting a massive change in direction or rule set will be disappointed).
Chris Franchi had three art packages (all color) and when Stern decided on doing a b/w version he took what was originally designed for the Pro and used it as the base to convert to the Premium. I forgot to ask him what art was in the window area of the the original design for the Pro.
The Grandpa scoop was originally a trap door mechanism (removed for complexity and cost - too bad because it looked/sounded really cool) and there was an unspecified mechanism removed from the top right of the PF. If I understood him correctly it sounded like John would have preferred drop targets but ran into BOM constraints (though Dwight preferred the mono targets).
Lower PF seems to be popular. I heard a number of people (including my wife) say that they preferred the Premium because of it. I still don’t think the lower PF will have staying power, but I would like to try a Premium with flippers set to soft. If you are a fan of the show itself it would be hard not to go with a Premium. If I end up getting a game, it will have a translite autographed by the design team, Butch and Pat. I thank John Borg for suggesting that the Pro would look better with gold signatures than ones from the silver pen I bought for the Premium.
[quoted image][quoted image]

I just figured that there would be a lot of people who attended the show that would come on pinside and post their thoughts on the black and white artwork.i figured it would be a very hot topic. You posted a lot of things though that im glad to hear and your post was very interesting. ...thank you!

#2247 5 years ago
Quoted from bigd1979:

Id guess many are eating their words and like the game after actually playing it lol. The new code made the game so much better and I've played more pinball the last few weeks on Munsters than i have in a long long time.

Heck yeah bigd, Munsters is a fun game i dont care what the nay sayers say! I cant wait to get my Premium and see what it looks like in person. Im glad the reports have been favorable. Where the hell is Spaceman at? We need him to come in here and pump this thread up and put a little excitement into it!

I cant compete with him on the Munsters hype so i lve been kinda laying low and letting him do all the talking.

#2257 5 years ago
Quoted from MK6PIN:

Finally found Brett's TPF thread....apparently there was a Munsters pre party (early admission to something (?) ) and alot of things related to Munsters going on.....couldn't have made it anyway, but man, not sure how none of this showed up in the threads (I'm slipping, I guess). Game apparently made a big splash, as it should!!!
Guess when a game starts building a good backing, the traction on here sort of dies....

Over on the Munsters doom and gloom thread there are people thinking the price of this game is going to plummet on the used market. The game sucks and is not selling well according to people over there. I told them wishful thinking.

#2258 5 years ago
Quoted from 1956PINHEAD:

Ya, I'm shocked at the lack of postings and overall info and feedback to the Premium from TPF as well. I thought for sure I'd log on today and see all kind of cool stuff, very little, strange

Well i have been hearing high praise about the black and white art from quite a few people. One person so far said he liked the color better. It sounds like the black and white artwork looks much better in person than it does in the pics even. Cant wait to see mine when it arrives!

Dang you lucky b@stard! What a great score that was. I love that game. Congrats!

#2280 5 years ago

I never was a fan of the Black Knight games but i gotta say that so far i like what i see especially with the Premium. Not a theme that i would own but i really hope that i have the opportunity to play one when they come out. Still rather have Munsters though personally.

Now one original theme that i could get excited about would be High Speed 3. I think BK3 is going to be yet another awesome game by Stern though. Stern has really been making pinball exciting here lately, gotta love it.....and just wait until Elvira 3 comes out!!! That game is going to be epic i bet.

#2284 5 years ago
Quoted from Ven:

Doom and gloom won't stop until open issues are taken care of and the code gets updated imo.

Munsters doesn't have many issues and it just came out also. People need to be a little more patient. I know i know....who's gonna be the first guy to bring up Ghostbusters code?

#2286 5 years ago

Quoted from cottonm4:

I really liked playing this pin at TPF. I like playing the Pro model. And I like Grandpa's Lab in the Premium. I can't buy one today; Too many things going at the moment.
For the Premium owners the question I have: Is Grandpa's Lab worth the extra $1600.00 for long term ownership? I'm not up to speed with these new pins very much. Are other things on the Premium I don't know about that come with the higher price?
I love the black and white graphics.

The only difference between the pro and premium is the lower playfield and nothing else. I cant tell you if its worth it yet though because i dont have my game yet. Im sure some LE owners will chime in soon and let you know though. I think most people seem to favor the lower playfield though. Both models are great imo though.

#2316 5 years ago
Quoted from Wotto:

See- I find this hobby hilarious at times.
We accept that on the new BK the ONLY ( real ) difference between PRO and Premium is the upper PF and 95% of BK droolers will HAPPILY pay the extra for that upper PF and not mention how its is XX$$ and you only get that for the extra coin. Yet, on MUN this extra charge for ONLY the lower PF has been a contestable issue from day one.....and yet the lower PF ( albeit mini ) on MUN has a shite-load more going on down there than the ball lock mech on the BK upper. Not slamming anyone ,and I am sure they will be bot good games in all thier forms , I just cant understand the triple flip hypocrisy demonstrated in this hobby at times....

I hear ya for sure. I don't think it's really a question of is it worth it money wise though. Its more a question of wanting it more than anything and they just pay it.

#2318 5 years ago
Quoted from Spacemanratso09:

I like the pro but grandpa basement to me really is part of the game
Its grandpa.In his basement.
Even though big D would never admit it cause of the harassment he gets,I believe he has something special up his sleeve to add to this game I can just feel it
I like all the pros, but feel like the premium is the way the game was intended on this one
IM and DP are good pros to get that pretty much have everything the premiums offer IMO

Not sure about DP but IMDN Premium is worthy of the upgrade over the pro. Not a huge difference but the gameplay is more fun. The pro is still great also though.

Quoted from cooked71:

Just set up my Le. Very impressed so far. Much more brutal with shorter ball times than what I’ve heard. No ball save takes some adjusting, but I like it. You get the odd long game, but most are fairly quick.
Love the lower Playfield. Being in the middle makes it just feel like a small shrunken pinball machine (apparently Grampa shrunk it). As opposed to Stewies which is in the top right which is harder to control and it’s not as engaging. And sure it feels like a miniature pinball, but that’s because it is. Not sure what everyone was expecting when they say it doesn’t feel like real pinball. That’s because it’s minature. If you just see it for what it is, it’s great. You can use all your regular skills down there except in minature. Which is really fun. And it seems to be worth playing points wise. You can qualify multiball down there, score jackpots. The shots are surprisingly rewarding. Really can’t imagine this game without the lower pf tbh.
The game is gorgeous. Build quality is really solid.
If any other manufacturer released this game it would be to universal praise. Really think there’s a lot of group think hate going on with this.
Very early days, but so far so good.

Quoted from Spacemanratso09:

I bought the wolfie from stern
It comes with the same spring
3 screws out/new shooter/3 screws in
Easy peasy right ?
Hell no don’t line up
They tell you “do not touch the adjustment screws “ ha ha
Ball still won’t make the playfield ridiculous I’ve “adjusted “ it 20+ times
So not worth it should have just left well enough alone

So you cant get the shooter tip to line up in the center of the ball while its sitting in the shooter lane? If so why not? That has to be the reason its not striking the ball hard enough to plunge it all the way up the playfield.

Quoted from BelleHall:

We were contacted Monday night by our distributor musiccitypinball that the pin had just arrived and was being unloaded off the truck. Unfortunately for us, by the time that the truck had gottten there and unloaded, it was too late for us to run up and get it.
So, yesterday, the Mrs (it was her birthday present) set off to Nashville to pick up our Munsters Premium. They told us to be sure that we called out a little ahead to make sure that someone was there when we got there as they would be off making deliveries most of the day. She called about 30 minutes out and when she arrived, one of their techs was waiting with the pin already loaded on a hand truck. Five or so minutes later, with the pin now securely loaded in the back of her 2006 Jeep Liberty, she headed off for the house.
Freshly home from work, I met her in the driveway as she pulled up. Our son helped me off-load the pin and move it into BelleHall.
[quoted image]
Just cutting one side off the box, we were amazed at how beautiful the cabinet art was.
[quoted image]
But we continued with the usual process of getting the pin on all fours and pulling the glass.
[quoted image]
[quoted image]
According to the tag, the machine was "born" 28 March. Must have been that the paint on the cab was still wet when they put it in the box as we had a little paint stick to the cardboard protectors around the band that we'll need to go back and touch up.
The instructions for installing the balls in the lower playfield were well laid out, however we ignored them completly and chose to remove the lower playfield and give it a coat of wax. There are 4 nuts and 3 cable connections to remove and the lower playfield was free. A quick wax and we inserted the balls into the lower playfield and reattached the lower playfield.
I was a little nearvous cutting the zip tie that held Herman down. It was real tight and not a lot of room to get in there, but we got that taken care of and started to wax the main playfield, clean the glass, and lock down the back box.
Setting it into its new home, we leveled the playfield and set the pitch to 6.8 degrees. Then updated to the latest code.
[quoted image]
I normally do a switch test, even on a new machine, before buttoning it all back up, but I was probably distracted by how awesome this thing looks, and the Mrs itching for that first game. We went and put in the balls, buttoned it up, and we were finally ready to start playing.
[quoted image]
We played a pro before we decided to purchase the machine around Valentine's Day, so we knew what the basic game play was like. But with the addition of the lower playfield , we found ouselves looking to hit Grandpa's basement as our main objective to see what we could do with it.
I only got a couple of games in as the machine was being heavily played by the rest of the family, but my initial thought was that, while I like the cut scenes, some of them are a bit long and slow down the pace of play. I didn't recall the cut scenes being that long when we played the pro version back in February, but then again, they may have been and I just don't remember. I also thought that they could stand to cut the cut scene when the ball drains and move on. As it stands now, you could be in the middle of a cut scene, drain, and the scene keeps playing for several seconds while you just wait.
I like the ramp shots and the lane that goes off the back of the playfield and comes back around. The bronze wire is also a nice touch.
We have blades on order and will add them once they arrive.
Kind of disappointed at the lack of promo plastic, but do like the slingshot cover plastic that was added to the premium. Also disappointed by the poor quality of balls that these things ship with. Starting to look for replacements - any thoughts?
We are still trying to remember to Zap when we need to, however I found that bending at the waist and hitting it with my stomach was a good approach to ensure that my hands stay where they are supposed to. Also tring to figure out the best way to play all four flippers at once.
Did I mention how nice this thing looks?
[quoted image]

Man that game is beautiful and i think the dog likes it also! Don't worry about the cut scenes, that gives you time to drink your beer!

Well i got her all set up and playing. It was a mother effer getting down the basement stairs, I'm not 20 anymore and its starting to show. I took a few pics but my camera sucks on my phone so sorry.

Ok, the black and white artwork ended up looking every bit as good as i thought it would, maybe even a little better. I did have a little scuff on the cabinet, not terrible but definitely a little disappointed in that. The black and white art package though is flat out gorgeous. I dont know if i like it the best or the color on the pro and the LE, they are all three beautiful so everyone is a winner regardless of which model that you have.

On to gameplay. Played my first game and quickly got into Grandpa's Labratory. My very first thoughts of the lower playfield was....oh boy i effed up, this is so not cool and feels like a cheap ass Wal Mart toy....NOT GOOD!!

So i open the coin door and set the lower playfield flippers to soft as others have suggested on here and praying to myself that this somehow makes a difference. Well thank God it did and its actually pretty damn fun so guys if you haven't set your lower playfield flippers to soft, make sure that you do this because it makes all the difference in the world. Is the lower playfield a must? Probably not but it definitely adds to the fun of the game no question about it. I don't neccessarily think its a deal breaker (after 10 games) but its cool for sure and it makes the game look beautiful also.

All i got to say for the haters is, if you cant find fun in this game then you are in the wrong hobby plain and simple. This may not the greatest game ever made, but it is absolutely fun as hell and its flat out beautiful. This game is a great shooting game. It has nice ramps and great orbits, love Herman and Raven multiball, love the show clips, the music, i love everything about this game and it will never leave my collection i can tell you that right now. If anyone is on the fence about this game don'tbe because it is killer. Gotta grab another beer and play some more!

#2653 5 years ago

Yeah i cant wait to experience that, should be insane i bet. I didnt want to stop playing but i have to get some sleep before work lol. I did get a stuck ball in the lower playfield, that was kind of a pain in the ass to get loose. I hope that doesn't happen often. The game is loads of fun though and a definite keeper for me.

Lol well i think i may put mine on 6 also then! Im not really sure what the purpose for no ball save is but i kinda like having a ball save.

#2663 5 years ago
Quoted from cooked71:

Agree, Spot is cool. The Lightshow adds a level of difficulty though.

Man isnt that the truth! Spot is hard to see when the lights are going off! Its neat though.

#2665 5 years ago

Thats a pretty long time seems like buddy! You are entering Senior Citizen settings territory there!

#2676 5 years ago
Quoted from ShinyBall:

Well, back in post #2625 this senior set it at 6 seconds so you going to join the seniors? lol

Im close enough to where i could join you guys.

I felt like a senior citizen trying to get that heavy bastard down the stairs last night lol. It about killed me, had to drink like 2 beers after i got it down there to recuperate! Lol

#2680 5 years ago
Quoted from NoQuarters:

This nearly Senior Citizen with the help of his able adult son dead lifts and carries all machines to and from his basement and does not break a sweat.
Set your ball save to 8. Also install a pin gulp.
No hernias and my balls are saved too.

Pin gulp going on tonight, thanks for reminding me! If you are carrying games in and out of the basement by hand please remind me to never piss you off.

Congrats! I know how you feel right now believe me. I havent stopped smiling since i got mine set up last night!

Quoted from DeathHimself:

I was just informed my game will be delayed a little, bummer. So temporarily can we stop posting how good the game is and post why it sucks so I can at least feel good in the meantime

Lol let me direct you to the munsters hype/HATE thread. There all the negativity you can handle over there thanks to 3 or 4 people.

Quoted from Spacemanratso09:

Party time got the beer [quoted image]

Getting ready to fire mine up also. Munsters and a few cold ones, cant beat that!

#2698 5 years ago

Just got to Munster Madness. Its pretty much impossible to play both playfields at once. I thought my head was going to explode. This game rocks though!

#2700 5 years ago
Quoted from cooked71:

You’ve got to trap up your ball’s on the upper pf. Then you’ve got plenty of time to complete a lot of shots on the lower pf.
It seems like chaos at first but it’s a really clever mode. To complete it you have to finish the 5 main areas again but during multiball (same areas as during normal play, ie Herman, spot etc.). But there’s a sneaky way to do it. The lower Playfield shots take turns at changing colour to represent the areas on the the upper Playfield. So when they’re green they count as if shooting Herman on the upper Playfield. You get 10 or 15 seconds per colour/area to shoot all 4 of the shots on the lower pf, then they change colour to the next “area”. Once all the areas have timed out or are finished, you can’t play the lower pf anymore, and you’re back up top.
Now if you’ve trapped up on the top and made a lot of the lot shots on the lower pf, all you have to do is shoot the remaining shots of each area that you couldn’t get in the lower pf.
Last game I only had one shot left to complete MM but drained.
The lower pf is very well designed and implemented. The 2 sets of flipper buttons are there for a reason. And the code that utilizes the lower pf is better than any I’ve played. I think it’s one of the best toys on any Stern game I’ve owned.

Thanks for the tip and i will try that. This is a pretty good lower playfield for sure. Im definitely warming up to it more and more. Im glad its not overused but its kinda neat. Its fun and challenging to make the shots, especially trying to hit the machine. Thats a tough shot to hit.

#2702 5 years ago

Ok so how often are you guys getting balls stuck in your lower playfield? Ive played two nights now and had to get in there and fish out a ball both nights. Is this common or am i just getting that lucky? Luckily i have a telescopic magnet that i fish them out with, best tool in my tool box. Just make damn sure that you turn the power off first if you use one to do this.

#2716 5 years ago
Quoted from cooked71:

Haven’t had one who-dey . Where’s it getting stuck?

Had one get stuck on that clear plastic piece behind “the machine”, and one got stuck on the left wireform. Flippers are set to soft but i still get quite a few air balls and thats when it happens.

Quoted from Wmsfan-GAP:

who-dey I hear you on moving games to the basement in my old age Most of my games now reside on what was my front room and dining room so I don't have to deal with stairs.

Good idea but i only have one living room and that’s the little Miss’s TV room so that would be a big no go for me lol. The cabinet on this game is better built and heavier than previous Stern games. Im sure the weight of the extra playfield factors in also to the games weight.

#2717 5 years ago
Quoted from Spacemanratso09:

Last night saw (or seen? Unsure haha) midnight madness again
I had forgot about it and once again thought that my game had froze
That mode is just sick point blank especially when you don’t know it’s coming

I got to play it also last nite, its cool as hell.

#2718 5 years ago
Quoted from drained:

Finally setup my PREM, just finishing testing and post shipment tweaks. I did install the Stern shaker motor. Holy crap its so strong.. maybe I installed it the wrong way ? The LE at the local spot isn't as intense, feels just right.
Does it matter if the rotaion of the weights spin horizontally or vertically of the cabinent ?
The speakers are weak, needs more bass. The LE I play on location has a lot more punch to the music/sounds.
Anyone source upgraded speakers ?

I bet the shaker is fine, they just dont have it coded right. I would disable it if it was me for now. You can try changing the setting to minimal use or whatever it says and see if that helps.

#2727 5 years ago
Quoted from GamerRick:

Who-Dey what do you have your lower PF flipper strength set to? Set to soft if you have not done so already. That might help with air balls.

I did set it to soft and i like it much better there. It will still hit some pretty big air balls at times though. Its cool until one gets stuck and you have to fish it out lol.

#2731 5 years ago
Quoted from 1956PINHEAD:

Well Who-Dey at least you have a lower playfield to get an occasional stuck ball. I'm feeling left out of all the fun with my 'one level playfield' Pro. I gotta get me a Premium and trade in my Pro as soon as my Distro gets one in stock that isn't already sold

Just have him order you one brother and when he gets it in make the trade!

#2732 5 years ago
Quoted from Spacemanratso09:

Holy fuck
If you can dial in the loop to ramp/ramp shots smoothly man that ball COOKS
I’ve been playing tonight just going for flow man this game can COOK

Damn right Spaceman, that ball screams around the orbits like a rocket!

#2735 5 years ago
Quoted from Spacemanratso09:

Totally and if you manage to take that beast and fire it up the ramp haha so fast back to the flipper

This game is a ton of fun and a great shooter. Just trying to figure out when i should cash in my jackpots and how many i should cancel out and stuff.

#2736 5 years ago
Quoted from Coolpinballdino:

Just saw a premium for the first time in person today and wow that artwork is beautiful.

It sure is, i had a friend come over tonight and he stood there and looked at it and kinda grinned and looked at me and said man that looks unbelievable. He said when you told me it was a black and white game i thought it would be ugly as hell but that is bad ass.

#2738 5 years ago
Quoted from cooked71:

Yeh, it really needs to be clearly displayed how much you’re cancelling before you cancel. Like on B66 when you finish a villain you can cash out/capture or continue, but it shows you clearly what you’ll get if you capture.
And how much more do you get by cancelling and building up the value?

So if you cancel a couple of jackpots and then drain your ball im assuming you lose all if that correct?

#2741 5 years ago
Quoted from cooked71:

I’m not sure on that. I think the number of jackpots carries over ball to ball. (There’s the little jackpot counter at the bottom of the screen which I can hardly read lol). But I’m assuming the scoring doesn’t keep building up.
Otherwise there’s no point cashing in until the last ball.
It’s all a mystery - needs to be clearer than what it is. Hoping it will come with future updates.

I remember hearing Dwight say that when younstack the jackpots that they actually increase in value and then you can also hit kitty and the 5 times dragula to increase them that way also. Where is Chuckwurt when we need him??

#2743 5 years ago
Quoted from Spacemanratso09:

After I got comfy with the game at a point I got annoyed by having to hit the zap button
Now I love it sometimes you have to pick your spots or you will drain in the blink of an eye

Yeah i dont mind it, its kinda fun. Kinda like when high soeed 2 says "shift gears" you reach down and shift gears and your ball drains and you are like Fuuuuuuuuuck!!! Lol

#2746 5 years ago
Quoted from cooked71:

Ok, the “Shoot the Machine” bug is pissing me off and making the game unplayable at the moment. Happens every few games and usually on a good game also. Going to give the Game a rest until it’s fixed.
No one else getting it?

I havent encountered that i dont think, 57 games so far. Does the game shut down? If so i havent encountered it yet, .96 code i believe it is im running.

11
#2767 5 years ago

Ok now that i know what im doing a little bit and what im wanting to achieve with these jackpots, this game has just became fun as hell and insanely addictive. Shallow code maybe but its a brilliant and fun code! Doesn't get much better than this folks!

I did experience the lower playfield bug today during a really good game and that screwed my eyes out and pissed me off....grrrr!! I'm also loving this lower playfield because it is fun as hell and the more you play it, the funner it gets and it actually has meaning and the shots take skill to hit!

Holy shit im stoked about this game. I feel like Spaceman right now!!

#2769 5 years ago
Quoted from cooked71:

Yep, code has good bones and is quite unique.
And the lower PF is actually rewarding - even on the regular Grampa mode. Hitting Mystery actually gives out valuable stuff and awards one loop. Im always going for Mystery down there, but its the hardest of the 5 shots.

I watched the original premium reveal where Dwight explained the code basics and seen those guys blowing up the Jackpots and then talked to my buddy Chuckwurt about it a little more and now I have a better understanding. Now all i gotta do is put it all together in a game and make it happen. ....easier said than done but fun as hell trying!

I have yet to cash in big but im working on it and have been close several times. I honestly believe that i would have on the game that the code bug bit me in the ass. Heck i was loving the game even when i didn't know what i was really doing, but now i am just flat out having a blast with it. This code is NOT bad by any means. This shit is fun!!

Quoted from cooked71:

As usual, the more i learn the rules, especially on a game that has good risk/reward, the more I have crap games followed by huge payoff games. But it’s worth it.
I think the best Sjp for me at the moment is about 22m - don’t know how many I had stacked, but multiplier was at 3x. I like that it carries over ball to ball if you don’t cash it in, especially on a game that can be pretty brutal without ball save.

The game definitely gets intense at times and when its not intense its fun as hell. Its a good mix of fun and intensity. Most of the people complaining obviously dont understand the rules or havent played the game enough. I mean look at Chuckwurt, he's the biggest rules guy out there and he enjoys the game so that is saying something right there.

I know one thing, spot can kiss my ass. If you don't backhand him its drain city! This game definitely has that one more game feel to it. Stern knocked it out of the park with Munsters. I was going back and forth between Munsters and MBR and i still hope to own a MBR one day but after playing this game for three days.now i know i made the right choice.

#2776 5 years ago
Quoted from hocuslocus:

does anyone else have issues with the mini playfield, where the right ramp doesn't register all the time?
Seems it only registers with slower moving balls.

Mine seems to register all the time but i have my flippers set to soft. Where are your flippers set at?

#2778 5 years ago
Quoted from Ven:

I have hundreds of games on our Munsters, I understand the rules and am really not a fan of the code. I want to be able to play a game more than one way and that isn't possible on Munsters, if you want a good score the only way to do that is to stack jackpots and collect them with a good playfield multiplier. IMO for a game to last in a home environment it needs to have some variety to it, something that makes you want to keep playing it that keeps it fresh and Munsters just doesn't have that for us right now.

I can respect what you are saying but it wont ever get old to me personally. The code doesnt have to be deep for me to love it. Its the whole package on this game here that makes it a great pin. I have other games that have super deep codes, i can play them if i want to dive into a deeper game. To me though the Munsters is the shit and i love everything about it.

#2783 5 years ago
Quoted from hocuslocus:

nope, some how that made things worse. Guess I got some tinkering to do.... it'd be nice if one NIB I received was flawless. Guess I can dream.

I haven’t even looked but i assume that is an opto that senses the ball going up that ramp right? If so you probably just got a bad opto and hopefully its easy to get to and replace. Call stern and have them send you a new one. 1-800- kickers.

#2786 5 years ago
Quoted from NoQuarters:

I'd give you two upvotes on this if I could.

I tell ya I'm excited about this game. I dont want to turn the damn thing off. I know im in the honeymoon stage but this is a honeymoon that is never going to end i guarantee it. This game is a masterpiece!

#2805 5 years ago
Quoted from bsbdmd83:

So are people doing a full or a quick update? Any issues with the new code?

I think all you need to do is the quick update.

Just woke up and seen this update, gotta get it downloaded and try it out..i know im probably in the minority here but i really wish that during Midnight Madness that you didn't have both playfields going at the same time..im.not a fan of that at all.

#2820 5 years ago

Hey the pin stadium post here just made me think about something. Where is this dimly lit game that needs extra lighting so bad that so many people talk about? I play this game in the dark and i can see everything perfectly, and im getting to be blind as a bat in my old age. Everything seems just fine to me?

#2824 5 years ago

Take some of that money and free time that you have and learn how to spell.

#2826 5 years ago
Quoted from pinballaddicted:

Have you put the new code in yet?

Yes i did but i only was able to play about three or four games. Seems fine though.

#2831 5 years ago
Quoted from Wesmantooth:

Man since you think that I think I’m going to take them off glad you said something

If you like them thats all that matters. Personally though i think this game has a perfect light show from the factory and doesn't need anything else.

#2833 5 years ago
Quoted from Wesmantooth:

No I agree I’m taking them off

I don't like them personally, at least from what i see in the pictures but people have different tastes and thats ok too.

#2837 5 years ago

Yup its 6 balls and 2 for the lower playfield.

#2852 5 years ago
Quoted from DeathHimself:

I was thinking of pulling the cover as soon as it arrives and Mylar protecting it before any hazing or cloudy starts. Mylar is cheap enough to keep redoing periodically and now with the cover screws on top it just makes things a lot easier to rinse and repeat.

Just buy a spare cover or two...or 10.

#2853 5 years ago
Quoted from Spacemanratso09:

Not starting any trash but looking at BK makes me even happier I got Munsters since I could only own one

Exactly what i was getting ready to post. BK looks sweet but its not Munsters thats for sure. The Munsters kicks Ass!

#2856 5 years ago

Surely to God that piece of plastic isnt 75.00-200.00 i hope? If they are that much they shouldn't scratch.

#2861 5 years ago
Quoted from kcZ:

That's it... I'm pulling all the bulbs and only playing in the dark. Dimples... hazing... What else do I need to worry about.

Your wife leaving you because your so addicted to the game that you can't stop playing it. Every Munsters game comes with a set of divorce papers. They are located in the plastic bag that is stapled to the side of the cabinet.

#2873 5 years ago
Quoted from cooked71:

Just installed new code and had a decent game. Seems to be allot of new light effects - particularly making jackpots on the lower pf now has really cool light effects on the main pf. Makes them feel more integrated.
I’m sure I heard quite a few new sounds but can’t say what they were.
Machine freeze is gone.
Really enjoying this game. Shots/layout are fantastic. Like the basic code structure.
My code wishes:
- Would love to see good variation between level 1, 2 and 3 modes.
- Some sort of side modes - like eddy, marylin and Dragula. That are good for points, not just Supers. For starters, Just bring midnight madness in as one of those modes and make Midnight Madness a scream or something.
- super jackpot needs to show what your cancelling (points value) and what multiplier you’re running at.
I’d be really happy with all that. Please Dwight. This game is straight up fun. Take it to the next level!!!

Agree with everything you said 100%. This game is one of Sterns best.

#2875 5 years ago
Quoted from johnnypinball:

Here is where mine are getting stuck. It is happening quite often and yes, my lower flippers are set to "soft". Seems I could remove the lower playfield and bend the little tab in tighter that the rear plastic peice is screwed on to allow enough clearance so the ball falls back down onto the playfield. Not sure what to put on the left plastic that would look good to deflect the ball from getting hung up on the wire form though.
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

That's EXACTLY where mine got stuck at both times. It was a pain getting it off of the little plastic piece. I haven't had a ball get stuck though since the first two days thankfully.

I noticed on this last update the lower playfield flippers are on "normal". Wasnt they on hard on the previous code? They seem to be ok on normal.

#2879 5 years ago
Quoted from J-drum11:

Question: how is everyone liking their Munsters premium?
Does the black and white look much better in person?

I love mine and will never ever get rid of it. The black and white artwork looks amazing in person. I thought it looked awesome in the pictures too though.

#2882 5 years ago
Quoted from johnnypinball:

My pitch is at 7.2 the ball goes airborne and lands in there from the top and literally "wedges" itself against the 2 plastics. I don't think any amount of angle would make any difference.

So what are your guys methods for getting the balls unstuck?

#2884 5 years ago
Quoted from johnnypinball:

The first time I pulled the window out of the playfield. After that, I found a long skinny screwdriver that fit through the slots in the lower playfield and pushed the ball out. When the ball gets stuck on the wire form I flipped the playfield up 90゚ and it falls out. Ironically the last time I did that the other ball fell out of the out hole and got wedged into the plastic behind the machine as shown in the photo. What a pain in the ass!

Ive been using this. It does pretty well.
