Quoted from JMK:

Considering all the negative posts on the hype thread, is anyone re-thinking their purchase?

Not rethinking Munsters LE..but, for a time I was re thinking MBR LE

#120 1 year ago
Quoted from Who-Dey:

Munsters or MBR though?

Short answer is both.

If only one..struggle for me, I go back and forth on this. Monsterbash proven for me, I know what I'm getting. Falling in love by the day with Munsters since I happen to collect Munster stuff.I really didn't want both..but the wife was totally on board for 2. So, I said ok it's your fault then...I feel better now

#129 1 year ago
Quoted from Yelobird:

Close. Thats a Win, Win, Win! Great games (2) and a winning wife that is on board and wants the same. Score!!

41 plus years..Awesome Gal

She let me get monster mansion slot machine...(distant cousin to the mbr LE) been a crazy time lately.

That is way cool!!! I have a Double Diamond slot

I believe the double diamond had the longest run, very popular fun machine. congrats

Very cool congrats to you both. Didn't get to see what the photo was but it sounds like she has the same taste as my wife for slots. Have several now lol.

Smaller pic now. (I hope)

But... the good thing is that you "can" buy this many various games. (nice game by the way)

It's official ... last night, my wife and I ordered our first ever NIB from Flip N Out Pinball ... a Munsters Pro!
I had A LOT of questions and LOVE talking pinball ... Zach was AWESOME!! ... He spent almost an hour on the phone answering all my questions and chatting about pinball.
I'm excited to add Munsters to our gameroom!

Zach, is a hell of a nice guy!

#314 1 year ago
Quoted from Who-Dey:

So to all of the people complaining about the code on Munsters, are you talking that it is shallow like MB, AFM, MM and other 90's games or even more shallow than that? Im just trying to get a good feel for what all the negativity is about? I gotta believe that this game at least has as good of a code as MB. I would hope so anyway. If it is similar to that i would think that alot of people may actually welcome a pin like that. Not every game has to be GOT deep.or TWD deeo to be fun.
Help me out here and explain your shallow code complaints a little more in detail please.

I'm kinda sick of the bitchin' you want more??

#317 1 year ago
Quoted from bigd1979:

It very much like mb but with many more layers to the scoring , jackpots, zap pots, levels and boosting.

So there would be little reason to own both?

Quoted from jfh:

Always wondered if shaker motors contribute to node board failures in Spike/Spike II games.
Don’t know what shaker motor effects are in Munsters (don’t know if the Pro and Premium I played had them installed), but I think shaker motors are generally over rated and wouldn’t go out of my way to add one to a game that didn’t have one.

Shaker in my TFTC (1993) no issues as of yet...and I think it adds..IMO

#428 1 year ago
Quoted from luvthatapex2:

Right, he is asking if the shaker effects the node boards. The node boards are only found in SPIKE games.
btw I love shakers too. I have them in all of my games that support a shaker.

True..( I shouldn't have compared to spike) but, he also said they were "over rated" I truly believe it does add to the game..especially if a non pinhead comes over, they go whoa!

Quoted from MK6PIN:

Agree, and sadly has become a trend on pinside for some time now....I drained it awhile back. Looks like this club thread is picking up steam, and probably the best "home" for Munsters posts, imho.

I did the same thing only "announced it" (drain) and got moderated..hoping for same as you stated.

Heard that my LE is now expected late Feb early March.. So I wonder if mine just did not make the first shipment, or if the news of them shipping this week was just inaccurate.. Anyone else get updates on ETA for theirs ?

Got to play my 1st Munster Madness..Wowza like 4th of July. Game is sick. (I just got it delivered)

#1574 1 year ago

My wife has been playing the crap out of this game like no other before..especially when I showed her she can launch the ball with the "zap" button instead of the plunger. (she has carpel tunnel) and that helps her greatly in extending her playing time on it

#1761 1 year ago

I had no problems with windows zip, EZ clean install...but was prepared to use winrar if it didn't.

#1801 1 year ago

Just a quick comment....I have a Munster LE and a Mbr Le...Even though I think the Mbr is drop dead gorgeous, I see myself wanting to play more of the Munsters. I'm glad I have both and honestly don't think either are going anywhere. Maybe it's my fascination with all things Munsters. ( been collection them for many years)
I'm really glad I stuck it out with the Munsters. with all that neg in past posts. I think it has (for me) been so much better then I thought it would be.. Both games have been solid (lucky I guess).
I do Have to say, that Mbr feels like it is built like a tank, such a solid feeling machine and you can feel the better sound quality. Both are great additions for my game room. Winner Winner chicken dinner!

#1824 1 year ago
Quoted from GamerRick:

Going to ask stern to dial back the super jackpot shaker programming.

I did ask them about making the shaker adjustable...they said that they had enough complaints to forward it up to look into making the shaker adjustable. (like low med max).
I turned mine off till / if that comes around. If anybody also feels that way I would suggest calling, maybe it will be in the next update that way.

#1826 1 year ago
Quoted from MK6PIN:

Isn't there an adjustment already in there (though I saw one in the menu, mine was set to max and I left it)? I'll look tonight....
The effect definitely can be subtle, then cabinet rattling depending on what has been triggered. I'm still trying to keep all my senses engaged when I hit Spot..whew, powerful!!!

That is for how often it comes on..or how long is my understanding?
I asked "specifically" if there was a way to tone down the power (mine as others have mentioned) shakes so hard it can't be I think I would see loose screws and nuts eventually. He said there is currently no way to do that...but, said he has enough complaints to address it up.

shaker options are:
Minimum use
moderate use
long use
maximum use
Mine shakes hard even for that minimum short use..just not as noticeable cause it doesn't last that long.but bad enough for me.
I'm thinking ..The setting "long use" should be a clue here on how it works.

#1901 1 year ago
Quoted from MK6PIN:

I just saw the thread, left a couple posts, then left it, period. Pathetic justification at its finest ( " I don't like it, so you're an idiot if you do").. ridiculous

Quoted from Ven:

I am not really sure I have seen many people "hate" on the game though

I may not like or care for a particular game...but, I wouldn't feel the need to start a thread saying so. You can give your reasons in existing threads, but when you start a thread like that you know you are up to no good...but, just don't care.

Put me down for " I like the lower play field". Had another guy over today that has played them all and said, this is his favorite now (lower).

Gettin' purdy good on that little bugger

Adjusted shaker 90 degrees one side as suggested..really helped. Looking forward for a power reduction in a future update hopefully too. would then be perfect.

we are gravitating towards monster themes

Ever since I was a child I had a love affair with Halloween, or anything that fell along with haunted spooky scary looking houses skeletons ghosts, many of the large witches draculas mechanical characters spider webs cornstalks pumpkins gothic lights candles paintings art ect. (all on the light side, nothing evil hardcore demonic)

The pinball machines are the "large cars" of my theme collection.and I love it. This is a great time to be in this hobby for this theme. Happy to see another.
Wish I had a minty class of 1812...maybe some day

Got Munster Madness 2 times in the same game tonite, almost a 3rd, just needed spot, then I got the right drain. Called the wife down to see it starting with the 1st one, she loves this game and is very competitive..hahaha honey. When you get a game like that makes you love it even more. I usually don't play that well.
Even a squirrel can find a nut once in awhile though.

#2366 1 year ago
Quoted from bigd1979:

You have .96 code? The first madness is a mini version and second is the full version.. im not sure about the third one

Yes..thanks...Yeah I don't know what the 3rd would be if there is one ( I really didn't even know what the 2nd was, lol) I was just trying to keep it going. I was worn out after it ended. Would have been fun to find out.
I do know when both play fields are active..I'm going to pay more attention to the upper next time. That is a crazy deal working 4 flippers at the same time trying to pay attention to both. I know I let too many balls get away on the upper.

#2597 1 year ago

heh, Grampa's lab calls off my LE number..kinda of only 3 possibilities. 543-432-321..I like mine.

anyone else?

#2625 1 year ago
Quoted from 1956PINHEAD:

My average on a Pro with new code, posts lowered, 10 sec ball save is 65-75 Mil with an occasional game in the 165 mil range. That said my game is also set to 5 balls, but on those games where I've scored high it's always been on the 3rd ball, then I start loosing focus and rapidly drain the 4th & 5th balls. Shit, might as well switch it back to 3 balls

Yeah, we are about the same age (I'm a little older). 6 sec ball save, 3balls tried 5 just for fun for1 nite went back to 3..I get those numbers too..some a little less.... got to be our age... ummmm could be the daily beer too

#2670 1 year ago
Quoted from Who-Dey:

Thats a pretty long time seems like buddy! You are entering Senior Citizen settings territory there!

Quoted from Who-Dey:

Lol well i think i may put mine on 6 also then! Im not really sure what the purpose for no ball save is but i kinda like having a ball save.

Well, back in post #2625 this senior set it at 6 seconds so you going to join the seniors? lol

#2843 1 year ago

download new update and installed...1st game I got Munster Madness! Not the highest score I ever had 51mill but, still achieved it. I was able to set shaker from min to moderate now with the update w/o shaking the crap out of the game (much better). Good update..but looking for more in near future.

#2845 1 year ago

After I won "Grampa's jackpot" and it lower playfield temporally went dark..scared me for a sec...then it came back on after I lost the main play field ball. Never did that that I can code lighting? Anyone else see this?

Quoted from DeathHimself:

Question for you LE / Prem guys that have been putting some time in on your games.
Have you guys noticed any hazing or clouding of the lower PF Lexan cover like we have heard about on some the AC DC units and Lucy Units?

No (LE)
When I got mine I did blow out sawdust entire play field & underneath and upper / lower,... basically everywhere. Cleaned the cover and adjust.
Still show clear and clean.

Quoted from Who-Dey:

Anyone who listens to the haters on this game that was interested in buying it and then decided not to just because of the few people that ran the game into the ground is making one big ass mistake, thats all i got to say. This game is fun as hell in many many ways and its not going to get old or boring. Its so challenging that it makes you grit your teeth and hit the start button over and over and over. Ive been getting so pissed trying to blow this game up that im about ready to pull the damn hair out of my head, all three of them!

Confession time.
I fire-up my Munsters LE more then My MBR-LE..for whatever that is worth. Obviously a Awesome, addicting game for me.

Hey Spaceman, why don't you pick next weeks challenge, and then assign the following to someone else in this thread, and then that person selects the next challenge etc.
BTW, can you belive all the posts on "the worst code ever", what the F!

I took it with a grain of salt. Worst code / bad code/ ect has been said about MANY games on this site. I just don't get the people that feel the need to "start" a thread about it. Many motives possible. It's seems to be all about them rather then contributing to discussions.

We're running our Munsters LE at The Pinball Lounge near Orlando. Game plays great but we're having to remove the lower playfield at least once a week to clean the dust off the underside of the window. Is anyone else having this issue? I think the dust is coming from the flipper mechs on the main playfield. Tempted to install some type of gasket to lower the dust.

I did think it would eventually show up...why wouldn't it? but, so soon is bizarre.

#4278 1 year ago

When I buy a used game I need to look a little closer now
I too get sick of some game plays I have had in which I have my share of drains, and it is aggravating..but I don't want to change the dynamics of the game. It's kinda like pulling up bowling lane guards for the grandkids.

#4316 1 year ago
Quoted from cottonm4:

Why don't you just stretch a rubber band across the two posts? Then it won't drain at all.

Yeah! That way we could easily compete with Who-Dey's well earned Super jackpot score. Might be the only way for me to get by him.
I want to earn my scores compared to the way the game is everywhere on locations and tournament play. No fun saying I reached a milestone by closing off or reducing the drains...for me, at least.

Getting a high score with all the challenges of the drains is rewarding..specially in a tournament play...or like Who-Dey / tpir did. congrats btw

#4318 1 year ago
Quoted from cottonm4:

When you think about it, we all have no way of knowing of who is playing and honest game or who shoved some paper towels into the drain holes.
Long time ago I found an online site to play Spades live. Cell phones were still charging by the minutes. I would not even think about it now because my opponents could be talking strategy over their cell phones.

I'm hoping that we are more honest here with posting our champion awards...3 ball factory settings. but, good point.

#4338 1 year ago

I rather play a 5 ball game then use the ball save. So simple to say, "I got that score with 5 ball". But, then again.. you can say the same thing with ball save

***I really do wish we had the ability to set ball save for 1st ball only..but, for every ball? a little much for me.***

If I want to play a longer game for fun and work on my skills, I will set for 5 ball and play without the play-field hacks as shown here... when I win a champion with 5ball...I use the name 5ball ( changed from 3 initials to 7 in settings).

A whole lot of people use ball save and even some locations, and I do get it , and don't really have a problem with it and I'd rather see this then a play-field least that is a setting change over changing the play-field as it was not intended

for fun, I looked into this on past pinside here. some do... some do not. To each his own.

"this is just my thing".
It's all fun and good

#4365 1 year ago

I get a lot better scores on my MBR...but yet, I want to play Munsters more ..cause it constantly kicks my ass. I want to beat this machine and it ain't ez.
Have I had some good games..yep! But have to say, I had more embarrassing scores..keeps me coming back. I'm hooked.

#4367 1 year ago

#4378 1 year ago

#4415 1 year ago

Haha..this is getting funny

#4439 1 year ago

For this EZ, boring, no good code game as stated on the "hate" munsters worst code thread.. sure are alot of people trying work arounds to get a good score.

I got my Munsters LE and MBR_LE at the same time...although I believe that my MBR_LE is a prettier game to look at, and the build quality is better, (IMO). Munsters is more challenging which makes it more fun for me. I'll keep both, but if I had to let one go it would be my MBR. Those haters hate..they just don't get it and NEVER will. Munsters is still a great looking game, nothing taken away from that. The younger generation that has no ties to Munsters may pass it by, and that in it self makes perfect sense. I feel that way about some of the "new" titles that come out.

Get your Munsters if you are on the fence and discard all the's a good game and if it can be updated, all the better. I always heard that MB can get old fast..honestly that is true. (and I would have never have thought that). It is a impressive looking game to anyone who comes over and absolutely fun for newbies. I still will play it, just not often. probably 10 to 1.

I can beat the crap out of my MBr...not so much Munsters. You "need" a ez playing game that is still fun? get a MBR, it is awesome looking addition to any line-up, and the toys are call-outs are fun.

Are there more challenging game then Munsters? Of course! but, Munsters seems to fill in the vacant spot to me for theme, fun and still challenging.

As with all pins...we all have our favorites...Munsters got some unjustified press here. (go figure)

#4456 1 year ago

#4576 1 year ago
Quoted from Who-Dey:

Had some pinball friends over last night and would you believe that out of my seven game collection that Munsters was the second most played game last night? IMDN Premium was the clear favorite but Munsters was right there behind it. I find it amazing that a game that is considered to be the worst coded game ever by some here on Pinside could be be so enjoyable to people that they wanted to play it for seven hours straight last nite! If i ever get a good game one day these guys may never want to leave my house when they come over.

Looking over the "hate" comments, it is a lot of the same people that feel the need to constantly slam this pin. I'm coming to a conclusion that they may hate that some actually like/love it, they can't fathom that people don't feel the way they do, and feel the need to convince us that we must be wrong. Making a personal comment that you don't like a particular machine is understandable...just do it, let it go at that. You ain't going to change people's minds by taking every opportunity to say it again and just looses value in being ..yeah, we know "you" don't like it, and we bypass your comments, or even ignore you.
We all here, know who they are

I also have had the same experience with people coming over and really enjoying this pin.

Loving the game...and I have let go some of the so-called best.

#4587 1 year ago
Quoted from jfh:

No more so than those who feel the need to pump it all the time.

Well, this a club for current owners ( I thought that is what it meant to be in it), not surprising that we may really like our machines and "are" pumped

#4603 1 year ago
Quoted from Who-Dey:

I think you are reading way too much into this jfh. I dint think any of us care to the point we are mad or anything like that. We just think its a shame that a few of individuals felt they had the need to actually start a Munsters bash thread and act like it is their job in life to give this game a bad rap and possibly hurt the sales of the game. Everybody is not going to like this game or any other game, and that doesnt offend me in the least. They just need to say what they want to say and shut up about it. Theres no need to keep bitching for what, four months now is it?

Good example of this on the MBr owners thread on how the hate thread can effect a potential purchase. They did what they intended.

Quoted from BeeGeeMtl:

I'm considering purchasing the MB (limited) but maybe I can save a few bucks and just get the SE? It's odd that they would price them so close, the main aspects that I like more in the LIMITED is obviously the Topper (can be purchased on its own?) and the plasma disk. The rest of the differences aren't important to me.
I also quite like the MUNSTERS (B&W) but most everyone seems to think that game sucks at this point, so I assume MB would also have longer shelf life and resell value.
All opinions welcome!

I can't believe I'm saying this...but, I'm not all that impressed with the topper, that strobe looks to be too much also....I like the clock, wish the characters were as like....(modeled) am I all alone here?

Congrats to those who like them and are getting one.

#5022 1 year ago
Quoted from Thunderbird:

You might be all alone here, as this topper fits well with the table art and looks good to have the emphasis on the clock which appears to be nicely done. Of course we all would like it to cost a little less, but out of all the toppers out there, name one that is better?
Munsters topper has: Callouts, mode music, character lights, clock spinning, Raven pops out, etc., from what I can tell from some video I’ve seen. Fully yet to be confirmed as to what all it does. This is coming from a person that does not like toppers usually at all. I think most toppers serve little to no function, with just a bunch of plastic and a few lights and no game interactivity. Unless I don’t understand it correctly, Munsters topper appears to be the icing on the cake of an already great table. That airplane landing light behind Raven has to be toned down somehow, although.

Well, actually we are on the same page to a point. I said I like the clock (so do you) so we are in agreement here. I would have liked the characters to be more like my MBR-le topper...not just some flat cut-out pics...but, we can't always get what we want. It is what it is.

Absolute steal right here. You would have to be an idiot not to buy this game if you like The Munsters. Best deal I've ever seen on a game probably.

First time I wish I hadn't bought new, (If I would have only known- where is that crystal ball ??). Crazy price!

My only consolation is mine has zero issues and no flaws so. I need to be happy with I'm sure "many" others have as well.
(Best excuse I can come up with for a ridicules price when I paid up for mine)

jfh how can you not take a chance here?? lol

Oh, man.
Was all excited for mine to arrive. Now I am worried.

Quoted from calprog:

I just checked my Munsters LE in detail. I have a early LE number. Not sure if that means anything. The playfield is mint. I have had for several months. I will keep a watch on it. Guess I got a good one.

No issues with my LE as well. Del in middle of March

I agree. It is a great video. But now that I have seen the topper in action, I believe I will pass on buying one. I like it but I cannot justify paying the price Stern is charging. I would like to have it if it was just a static display and not priced where it is.

I felt the same from the beginning, hoping I would see myself changing my mind after all the kinks were worked out. Really nice video, Thanks!
Feel the same way.

The only way I know to adjust the intensity is to move the counterweights on the shaft.

Which worked great in my case.

An odd picture this your game?

No, It is a pro that is listed for sale, that was stated just came off route. I originally saw the pic and thought Holy crap! I also now believe it is some kind of distorted reflection. The seller could do himself a favor and delete that particular photo. Pictures mean everything when trying to sell a pin, that one is weird.

I still own a Munsters le

(still loving it!) btw

This "is" a members only thread...if you sold and moved on, fine...but please do. I still like my Munsters. I do believe another code could really make it epic.

However, now that we’ve owned it for some time, we feel the pin does need further clip integration and code enhancements for longer term enjoyment.

I am still hopeful a solid code drop occurs relatively soon.
So much untapped potential.

Kinda of the way I have been feeling as of late. If no substantial code update, I actually could see this going within the next year....and I Love everything Munsters, so it's a tough thought. Looking pretty and wanting to play occasionally may not be enough to hang around.

Great show (and movie) not convinced with the pinball aspect..and I have a faultless LE. I'll give it some time hopping for updates.

I very well could be all wet here but.....I'm hoping that there will be a update to kinda reward those of us that have held onto our machines. If it actually happens it would literately be " a game changer". We have seen this done before, I believe that Munsters has so many avenues that they could work with to make this a epic machine. That being said, if they take 2 to 3 years with-out any such update, as much as I love the theme...well, you can figure out the rest.

Interesting...I like Elvira3 also, maybe just a tad more at this point...but, hoping that will change with a code.

Thread title is "members only!" it really has nothing to do with you know it or not..op is trying create a place for current owners to do their own praise or bitch. It was intended to weed out those who...well you know. But, then again, you are not the only one who just can't resist.

just installed my topper & the door is stuck half open. guess i'm going to browse thru this thread to see what the topper fixes are that I saw mentioned before taking it apart.

This topper is a disaster right from the start..good idea backed up with inferior build. Sry to all those who spent the $400 plus..of course you have to defend your purchase...and will basically ignore all the additional work you yourself may have had to do to make this tolerable. For this price it should come right..especially since this is now round 2..and people Still have issues. What part of it ain't right yet are we trying to hide?? haters go hate if this offends you...but there are some facts here that I think you can't ignore if you are honest..did some get lucky? well as some not. I'll wait till the show is over, and all seems "fixed" from stern. Why is it so hard for them to get this right?? Honest question. Go ahead and kill me for saying what many are thinking...someone has to say it..I'll take the heat..haha

Quoted from MK6PIN:

The dust haze happens on the inside of the window. You can open any of you're games, and you'll notice it if you raise the pf...lots of mechs down there working away. As they wear, the dust follows ( like rubbers on top side).
I clean both sides of the window w a new microfiber cloth to avoid scratching. Just spray it on and wipe it off like cleaning glass.
Though the mini playfield is super easy to take out ( 4 screws and a couple wiring connections) I take the plastic off from the top to clean. Alot easier than doing it while still attached to the playfield.
Alignment really not as bad as some state, just make sure you're using a quality torx T10 driver, not an offbrand which may not fit exactly. Window drops in place, don't go crazy on tightening, and use a straightedge to make sure it's flush w playfield ( I just use my finger to feel for a ridge).
Happy cleaning!!!

I also do big deal.

I paid $599 +Shipping +Tax.. It ended up being around $667.. However, i was told by the seller that this was the 2nd revision and that all the bugs were worked out from the 1st run.. I'm not sure how true this is but i can say mine works 100% perfect everytime.. He had just gotten 20 freshly built units in.. By the end of the week they were all sold.. This was a month ago.. And he's not getting anymore in.. If you really want one.. You should buy it before someone else does.. And good luck finding one once its gone.. Is it pricey, Yes.. But its not like there is a hundred or so around.. I would jump on it.. Seriously, its so worth it... Everyone that comes over and sees it goes crazy over it.. Here's a quick video of it on YouTube.

I gave this some serious thought...I just don't see it, I can afford it, but still can't justify the increase now that it is working. To those that have it..all good wishes..

$667.00 ?? it's a no, because nothing has changed (other then it is supposedly working now).

The bugs worked out... cost even more then it was released at??...really?? wow. Why do "we" need to pay for that???

Somehow this just seems shaky at best. We are supposed to pay more for sterns inability to do it right the 1st (and even 2nd time ) ??

Go ahead and hit me... but, this just stinks.

Plz explain to me why the increase in cost (because of them releasing it "NOT" working as expected the 1st time) should be a increase to the consumer..Now?

Guess it is our fault, for wanting it to work right..and the fix is now added to the cost.
