I will be getting a Pro at some point. Haven't decided if I'm going NIB or waiting for a HUO when someone upgrades.

One thing I *was* wondering. I really prefer the sling plastics on the LE versus what's on the Pro. Not a deal breaker by any means but I wonder if Stern would allow anyone to purchase an LE plastics set if they wanted to switch out those plastics?

Munsters LE is on order as well as Monster bash LE

You're getting the ultra rare Mirror Image Munsters LE?

Lucky!

Has anyone installed Tilt Graphics GameBlades on their Pro? I really like the design and am interested to see how well the caricature portraits mesh with the artwork on the playfield. Plus, they don't have a big black X over them! (sorry @Spacemanratso09)

Quoted from cantbfrank:

Len Amin Monday. I payed it a lot today and noticed the the glass looking into the lower playfield was not flush with the playfield and changes the ball path.
Anyone else have this issue?

I played an LE yesterday that had this issue on occasion. Seemed to happen more when the ball was moving slowly. Window looked flush with the playfield.

#1682 5 years ago
Quoted from Tuna_Delight:

I finally got a chance to put some games in on a Munsters (LE) this past week and was somewhat disappointed with the lower playfield gameplay as the "balls" seem to be very lightweight beads. I can now better understand the comparisons by others to FG's Stewie playfield.

I was able to play a few games on an LE and sadly had the exact reaction I feared I would have. The lower playfield felt like a cheap toy. Not trying to be rude, but that's exactly what it felt like to me. Sure it's got a lot more going on than Stewie pinball, but still has that same feel.

I'm glad others find it enjoyable but it cemented the fact that I'd personally never be interested in a Premium or LE.

#1698 5 years ago
Quoted from MK6PIN:

Can respect you not liking it (doesn't feel "cheap" to me, just different)...I've always liked FGY, so this is just an enhanced deployment (learning to cradle and make shots down there is very challenging)...maybe a Pro (which I wouldn't like) or just "next" for you.....Pinball is a great toy......

I own a Pro already. I was *thinking* about possibly upgrading to a Premium of LE based on how I liked the lower playfield, but sadly it just doesn't do it for me.

I did the cradling and all that but the speed of that small ball just feels wrong to me. Maybe I'm just too old!

I felt the middle area of my pro needed some more light so I added 4 spots to brighten it up. I used existing screws so it's completely reversable. Here is a before and after shot with only the GI on.

Quoted from thebosson:

Those look nice. Where did you get the spots?

Everything came from Pinball Life.

Sockets - https://www.pinballlife.com/playfield-accent-spotlight-assembly.html

Bulbs - https://www.pinballlife.com/ablaze-4-smd-led-555-wedge-base-lamp.html (Cool White)

I ended up NOT using the reflectors on the spots for a number of reasons. First and foremost they weren't needed and the spots would be more obtrusive with them on. Secondly, if I used them I would have had to put the spots on standoffs for ball clearance on the upper sling positions.

I like the SMD bulbs from PBL because they are very low profile and put out a lot of light.

For power, I put 2-pin male Molex connectors on the end of each spot. I added a couple of 2-pin female Molex connectors under the playfield and tapped into existing white GI.

For added stealth, I put black shrink tubing over the lamp and socket which should also help keep the bulb in place.

Bulbs were mounted on existing screws. A couple of them required me enlarging the mounting hole on the spotlight itself.

Wires were routed through existing holes.

I did notice the spotlight that Stern used on Herman is very small and may also work well. Not sure if it's available somewhere or if it comes with any type of mounting bracket.

My Pro arrived today from Amazon.

Is there any external damage to the cabinet itself? If not, keep it. Anything internal would be covered under warranty.

#4701 4 years ago
Quoted from pninja005:

How does pro hold up against the others? I'm not a big fan of mini playfields.
Is pro worth getting?

I'm not a fan of mini playfields either. I've played the LE a number of times. I still don't like mini playfields. To me, it's just a novelty. Plus I had a LOT of experiences with the ball on the upper playfield being redirected by the edge of the lower playfield window. So for me, the Premium/LE was a hard pass.

So yes, the pro is worth getting.

#4702 4 years ago
Quoted from steffan:

see if the ball stop is going down after the first ball is shot.( white plastic rod in back of herman ) not sure what it's called. it stops the ball from making a loop when it is first shot.on mine sometimes it wouldn't go down ball would get stuck on it. needed an adjustment.

My upper orbit post also needed adjustment as the post was sitting slightly higher than the playfield. Enough that a slow moving ball would get hung up.

Lift the playfield, loosen the nut on the bolt under the orbit post, then screw the bolt in until the upper post is even with the playfield (or just a *hair* higher). Then re-tighten the nut.

#4720 4 years ago
Quoted from Who-Dey:

Robert you cant blame that on the playfield window, you blame that on the person that put the lower playfield glass on wrong! Also the lower playfield if a hell of a lot more than a novelty, its a huge addition to the gameplay and the code. Its a whole nother mode added to the game.

I've noticed it on two separate LEs with two different owners. It could well be an adjustment issue.

I'm not arguing the validity of the lower playfield. It's just not for me (for the added cost).

Quoted from tpir:

Agreed. The lower playfield shoots really nice (if you set the flippers to medium.)
I have some small problems with very slow moving balls on the upper playfield being affected by the edge. I assume it is screwed in too tightly?

I have no idea how the power was set to the lower flippers on the games I have played.

Received my topper today. Couple of minor issues.

Raven seems to get stuck in the out position sometimes. Turning the game off then on does not reset it. A gentle nudge will get him back in so it's binding mechanically somewhere.

And Raven never lights up. Can you guess why? And no, there was no loose bulb in the box. So much for QC.

No bulb anywhere to be found. It was never installed. It's pretty hard for a bayonet base bulb to fall out anyways.

#6525 4 years ago

Switching from the topic of shakers to toppers, there needs to be an adjustment for the lighting level on the topper. I have my backbox lighting turned way down during game play and it would be nice to have the same adjustments available for the topper.

Also, I don't know if the light behind Raven is separately controllable but if so, the option for that light to come on only when Raven comes out would be nice as well.

Just more stuff that can be added for the next code update!

#6536 4 years ago
Quoted from chuckwurt:

The bright white light behind the door of the topper is brutal.
Definitely should have an adjustment or not be used until the door opens.

If it's not controllable, maybe tie that bulb into the coil voltage (with a current limiting resistor of course) so the bulb is on when the coil is on.

Since my topper came without a bulb installed behind Raven and Stern support never sent one, I ended up putting a purple bulb in there and adjusted it so it's more behind Raven instead of off to the side. I can't even imagine what a bright white bulb would look like.

Has anyone added or thought of adding LED eyes to Raven (once the topper is out of warranty of course)?

Quoted from davej:

it seems to be working again.

Yeah, 1.21 just released...

Apparently registering IC wasn't working in 1.20

Quoted from Pinzap:

FFS, it’s been said dozens of times that the “haze” on the video screen is intended to be there to create the sense of the glare on the TV screen.

I get why it's there but it ruins the look of the clips. Take it off. Or better yet, add an adjustment setting with the ability to turn it on/off.

When I asked Lyman (RIP) for user ability to change the score font color on EHOH (the color was changed in one of the updates and many didn't like it) he coded an entire font color editor in the adjustments so the user could select their own RGB values!

Looks like Cassandra Peterson will be part of the new Rob Zombie Munsters reboot. She'll be playing real estate agent Barbara Carr.

Where did you order it and how much?

He's on Discord. Channel name is "Xianek's Club". Those translites are 85 Euros plus 35 Euros for priority shipping to the U.S.

You order by sending him Paypal and then messaging him your shipping address.

Quoted from gac:

Installed my color changing translite I got from Xianek. It is incredible. Black and white when off changes to deep, rich color when on. Stunning. Pics really don't do it justice.

I just want to echo this sentiment. I just received my translite from Xianek. Aside from the coolness factor of being black and white when off and changing to color when lit, the richness and clarity of this translite is just amazing. I also really like the artwork as the characters are MUCH more prominent. The stock translite looks muddy and washed out by comparison.

It was VERY well packed with double-walled cardboard and foam-paper wrapped with protective plastic film on the front.

https://www.xianek.eu/ or contact him on his Discord server https://discord.gg/rfXUZJFg which is what I did.

It was 120 Euros including shipping, which ended up being about $140 USD.

Slightly OT but here's a snap of Cassandra Peterson (Elvira) from the new Rob Zombie Munsters movie trailer.
