Quoted from Lopa:Does anybody know of a protector for the spot opto receiver?
[quoted image]
About How many plays does this happen?
Quoted from Hammerhead1550:Does anyone know who sells the smaller pinballs used in the lower playfield? I'm just curious, I like to replace the balls in my machines on a regular basis, and haven't seen them sold anywhere.
eBay
Roller bearings carbon steel
Quoted from Hammerhead1550:Thanks, but I still didn't see them, only sealed bearings.
ebay.com link: itm
Here is an example verify the correct size
Quoted from Chopplebrains:Sometimes the spot trapdoor doesn’t close even though the spot flashing light at base of stairs goes out. I’m not really sure when or how long spot is suppose to stay up though… After it seems like he should have gone down, it is still up with trap door open, but hitting back bumpers vibrates enough I’ll see spot lower slightly until it eventually shuts. That doesn’t seem like game behavior.
I took glass off and started a game and got to a state where I thought spot should have gone down, and just lightly tapped the top of trap door with my finger and it shut. And any modes that use spot (lights sounds etc) after they stop, he stays up.
So it seems like the door has too much tension as it just barely gets stuck open sometimes. I tried using a tiny amount of wd40 on the hinges I could reach, but no real improvement.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
Never use oil on a Pinball
Quoted from Sling_shot:We love our B&W Premium! The art is awesome and it is still very colourful with all the lights! Installed shaker motor which really adds to the experience. Would like to get a topper one day...but not going to pay an arm and a leg for one. I did need to contact Stern about the issue with the Herman plastic part (see post #9948 etc.). They replied quickly and sent out a new plastic piece with metal reinforcement underneath. While I was repairing that issue I also noticed the problem with the left wire rail bending (see post #9999 etc.) and was able to get the 3D printed parts made and installed with no problem. Also installed a full cliffy set and custom apron cards that I made in Photoshop using a spot colour/B&W technique to match the artwork. The machine is really underrated on this site. Dare I say, "Bolted to the floor"?
[quoted image][quoted image]
Just curious what’s the $ cut off point for a topper?
Quoted from ralphwiggum:Good question.... I made the black and white on request, I honestly don't know what configurations of Munsters are out there other than one was color and one was black and white. I wasn't aware there was a model with a 3rd center card, as I worked under the assumption that the center was a sticker on all Sterns.
I am very flexible in what I can offer. On certain Stern LE's, there is only one card on the left, I can do just one card, black and white, color, etc.
If you let me know what you are looking for specifically, I can probably accomodate in some fashion. That being said, I am not sure if there will be a 3rd/middle card in the works anytime soon.
I appreciate your time!

This would look good lenticular with out the yellow warning!
Quoted from Jnyvio:Hi, well the Black & White Premium as well as the Color Premium both have a center card.. Not sure where you are getting your information that it does not?? These cards your making just will not look right and make no sense if only the left and right cards were upgraded and end up not match the center card.. In other words, is it really that difficult to make this the correct way and provide a 3rd matching center card?? Tnx
[quoted image][quoted image]
I believe the center “card“ is a sticker.
Out of town so can’t verify at the moment
Although it would look cool with out the yellow warning .
Quoted from C0untDeM0net:It's a sticker on my machine which is a pro
Can one make lenticular stickers?
Quoted from Jnyvio:Ok, Thank you... It is a card.. Let me know.. Have a safe trip.
It’s a sticker!!!!!!!!
Quoted from Ricmaz:The yellow on the sticker is gone!!

Lenticular would take that apron over the top!
You bent me black and white!!! Lol
Thanks Tim
Quoted from Hammerhead1550:I wish I got my munsters. Stern shorted my distributor and said they will run it again sometime next year to fill the back orders. Of course that will be after the price increase. I sure hope Stern keeps their word and does fill the orders they shorted or I'm going to be pissed.
Better to be pissed than to be pissed on!
Just find a HUO game
Quoted from Jnyvio:Hi... Do you have a link to purchase the Black & White ones?
Yes reach out to bent my wookie

Tell him freddy sent ya!
Quoted from Flippingr8:I found the problem: a fractured spring on the coil seen in the first and second photos. Will replace with another spring - not the exact replacement, but I think this is close enough and will work (on the left in the third photo). Now to put it back together![quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
I’d clean and add a new coil sleeve while at it.
Quoted from big-c66:That’s great. I wish I could find a topper that wasn’t 1500$. Lol
Lol some one has one listed for $2500 that’s not $1500.
Quoted from ShinyBall:That was my thinking also...I see able electronics has a nib for 11K been trying to unload since June. sounds like even that would be a even trade!! The guy who offered me this option has less the 100 plays on his..mine has 300. With all the issues on a GNR I'm kinda resistant. But, I do love the band..and the machine is a good player when it works (GNR)
JJP GNR music is great !
playing it gets boring quick for me. Munsters is just plain fun!
Quoted from big-c66:You are absolutely right there are games that are no way better than Munsters in the top 100 and like u a friend of mine in the business said people would be blown away if they knew just how many were sold.
Ok how many??
Quoted from GRB1959:I thought I would drop in as I am looking for a Munsters Premium or LE. If anyone is looking to part with their Munsters Premium or LE let me know.

Quoted from C0untDeM0net:Have you played the pro? Do you disagree with my assessment? I can't rate something I have not played but I can rate something I've played more than 3000 times. The pro is what the vast majority of raters have played as well.
The lower playfield is what intrigues guests.
Quoted from A330FOATL:Picked up a Munsters Pro. New machine, only problem so far is that it doesn't seem that Spot comes out from under the stairs. Any ideas??
go into test!
Quoted from big-c66:Thunderbird me n u have been on the same page with this one. Absolutely one of the most beautiful n smooth shooters of all time n with the 3 new code updates nobody has a reason to complain in my opinion. People talk about the game didn’t sale good bull shit There we’re a lot of people that didn’t get there game the last production one cause Stern cut their distributors way short. Everywhere u look people are wanting to buy one mine is never going anywhere n u are correct top 10 easily.
A stern distributer told me it’s the Stern game he sold the most of.
When he asked me guess wich game he sold the most I guessed met or ac/dc he said no Munsters!
Quoted from dashv:As ShinyBall says, Munsters can get crazy at times but TMNT I feel is the faster pin.
If I want my ass kicked I play TMNT. If I need a breather I play Munsters. I think they complement each other quite well.
This^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Quoted from Stebel:I have both these games side by side. I find Turtles much easier than Munsters. The factory setting of no ball save on Munsters is the equalizer. I know you can adjust the ball save setting, but all my games are set to factory 3 ball.
I have played several turtles LE and premium
And they are slow compared to the pro.
If you want your ass kicked play a turtles pro.
All my games are 3 ball and ball save off is not an option as it would not be fair to my non pin guests.
Quoted from C0untDeM0net:I've gotten pretty good at taking that protector on and off. Even with the cliffy it will eventually start bending again. Unlike the stock one, that immediately started ripping apart, the cliffy can be bent back to shape. It will eventually have to be replaced tho. I think I have about 2k games on the cliffy and I've had to bend it back to shape twice.
What did cliff have to say?
Maybe if he’s aware he can design it to not bend.
Quoted from GRB1959:If I ever get to the point where I either lose one of the 2 miniature pinballs in the lower playfield on my Munsters LE or need to replace one is there a place to pickup a replacment miniature pinball? I don't see them anywhere on Stern's website so I was wondering if any of the usual suspects might carry this small pinball size.
Gord
Ebay
Ball bearings carbon
Quoted from GRB1959:Thanks, I tried that search on Ebay and it returns dozens of results. What is the exact size that I would need for the Munsters lower playfield?
Gord
I never measured them but look through this thread I believe it was mentioned previously !
Quoted from GRB1959:Thanks for the link. Based upon that link I was able to get the Stern reference # 260-5002-00 and from that I pulled up the following on the Marco website.

Quoted from aztarac:I can confirm that the latest code update broke Raven. He no longer comes out.
OMG
Say it ain’t so!!!!!!!!
Quoted from Jnyvio:Looks great! Hey, Can you share any installation tips.. My order is due to arrive soon. I would like to make sure installation goes smoothly.
7/16” nut runner and philips screw driver
If you can master them you can install these with ease!
Very simple straight forward install!
Quoted from JohnTTwo:I played this stupid game in Lacrosse WI, and feel in love. I need one. Usually a LE or Premium guy. I have AC/DC and when the lower playfield is activated I kind wish it did even light up. But enjoy it once it gets going.
Pro or premium for me?
You looking to buy one?
I have B&W prem I’d consider selling w/ or w/ out topper. Low plays.
Quoted from dinot:Finally able to get a Pro. Now I have a decision to make.
[quoted image]
Pros look good with purple armor. Just my 2 cents.
Quoted from dinot:Can't do purple. Munsters is right next to this and my OCD won't allow 2 similar colors next to each other.
[quoted image]
Put that armor on your Munsters And do something different to ST
Quoted from chaz009:I've owned my Munsters Pro for a few weeks now. I have such a love/hate relationship with it. It's ALMOST the closest thing I've ever had to a "bolted to the floor" machine but I've come to the realization what keep me from this being a favorite of mine ... the SPOT shot.
Apologies if this is kicking a dead horse, I generally don't like to listen to impressions/reviews and such (unless it's SDTM because those guys are awesome!), I don't know if many others have mentioned this. The SPOT mode is too long and too dangerous of a shot. I've thought about changing settings but I don't want to turn off the SPOT popup off because then it becomes the same as other modes in the game. I don't want to turn the "pause flipper timer" off because then I'm just waiting around 30 seconds for the mode to run the timer down. If I keep it on default settings and try to complete the mode I'm losing a ball 95% of the time trying to make it through the mode.
I have seen the strategy of shooting the right ramp to time out the mode, but frankly that sucks and (IMO) should never be the best way to run through the game.
Any thoughts that will keep me enjoying this game for a longer period of time? Like I say, I absolutely LOVE every single other aspect of this game.
Get a premium and you can enjoy the lower playfield!
Trading my Munsters prem.
New owner does not want topper webbed side armor And Stern wolfy shooter rod. Thought I’d post here first before placing add. .
Quoted from Mutt:does anyone make leg protectors in slime green so it matches the munsters logo?
Munsters has the built in stand offs you don’t need “leg” cab protectors.
If going for cool look ,
Leg lights

Quoted from Svente69:Also from MustangPaul. Here in white for the b/w premium edition.
I think better then green for the b/w.
