Quoted from C0untDeM0net:

My full set from Cliffy came in as well and once I finish repairing F-14 I'll be working on Munsters. He has a pretty good price for the full set.
The new scoop protector I installed a few weeks back from stern is already bending in the exact same spot the old one was.

I've never purchased Cliffys but guys around here always say to get them & I have a brand new Munsters Prem at home so I might as well look into them. I can see he has some Munsters stuff on his WIP page but where can I purchase them?

#8427 3 years ago
Quoted from Who-Dey:

I just put the new code on my game. What all are the known differences that matter? I did see a new film clip at the end of the first game that I played I think.

what we noticed is the backbox lights no longer turn off when the playfield goes dark. my wife really didn't like that so the code update was exactly what we needed.

#8432 3 years ago
Quoted from C0untDeM0net:

I emailed him asking about the grandpa scoop and the rest of the set and he put it together for me. Nice guy.

thanks, I'll email him.

I don't have any experience w/ our tables getting damaged where these guards are but I see enough talk about them on here that I feel like we must need them for this & our aerosmith. he makes guards for my police force ramps too that I was eyeing up.

#8434 3 years ago

stupid question, when I stand the playfield all the way up, is there a way to lock it up so it's safe? my older tables have a bar that you flip up to hold it up like the hood of a car. this munsters might come crashing down if someone bumps it. I assume I'm doing it wrong.

#8435 3 years ago

I jammed a stick in the but I assume there's some better way to do it.

#8438 3 years ago
Quoted from Thunderbird:

The safe way is to have it tilted toward the back box and leaning directly on it. There is no other lockdown otherwise.

am I supposed to slide the bottom of it towards the front of the table & then lean it back so it's partially upsidedown? the way I have it now, it's straight up & down

#8441 3 years ago

ok, thanks. don't want it to guillotining me while I'm installing my blades

#8442 3 years ago

i feel so much better now w/ it sitting toward the front

#8444 3 years ago

Experienced our 1st might madness last light. Probably would have seen it sooner if I had set the clock to the correct time.

I was very disappointed in how tiny the Drag-u-la car was & the clear plastic protector over it made it difficult to even see. I found a new slightly bigger one. This is a Johnny Lightning Magmas 1:43. I mounted it using the rear axle & the original zip tie holes in the plastic piece. The black plastic holding the car up in a wheelie was part of the original packaging. I didn't replace the protector so hopefully it doesn't get smashed. I didn't add any lights to it yet but have some little LEDs on the way. Wish I could find the Koach at this same scale.

Quoted from cabal:

A nice mod, it looks much clearer on the topside
i put mine racing down the wire frame.[quoted image][quoted image]

are both of those matchbox sizes like the original one? (1:64) I like where you put the Koach. we've been trying to figure out a nice way to include it.

#8467 3 years ago

The new TMNT has the 1 big target too so maybe this will be thier new way of doing it.

#8474 3 years ago
Quoted from Wotto:

And about 1000 times the effort by DS on the TMNT code. Had he put HALF the effort into MUN code I would own one. Great shame.

I'm fine w/ it being a simple game because it's fun to play. there isn't 1 thing I'd change about it. my whole family loves it. they don't all need to be a million rules, modes, & near impossible shots. I even love that munsters uses the attract mode videos to teach you the parts of the game. I get that some people don't like the 1 big target, but I've got several machines w/ individual targets / dropdowns. this is just something different. it's a way to starting a mode & getting to play that mode w/o having to kill yourself to get to it. I honestly think it'll help make my wife & son better players. I'm not asking you to like it but it seems odd that there's so much hate about it & people feeling like they have to swing in here to let us know we're wrong for enjoying the game.

I just grabbed acdc and I'm only a couple days in but I haven't found anything overly complicated about it. no list of rules to remember or impossible to finish modes. it's just a hell of a lot of fun to play. sure it's got drop targets but 100% honesty, it's no harder to knock down all the targets than it would have been if they had been one of those big ass targets. they aren't exactly difficult to hit. anything you want to hit, any ramp or bell, jukebox, etc are all as easy to hit as munsters & I don't notice anyone bitching about that pin.

meanwhile I've had aerosmith for years and still haven't mastered it. make fun of me, fine. don't get me wrong, I can play it / keep the ball alive for a really long time & it's lots of fun but I'm shit for completing the modes.

my fav pin is F-14 Tomcat & it's easy as hell to play. I can't imagine anyone saying it should have had more code, more modes, etc. you learn how to light something up / hit it & repeat.

#8475 3 years ago
Quoted from cabal:

My new purchase, this one will not fit the wire frame, the top of the machine is full of figures too, i will need to place it somewhere near the machine.[quoted image][quoted image]

I believe that's the 1/18 scale & it's really nice looking. just have no place to put it. my coco clock topper comes today along w/ some other mods. my blades come today too. the set I had before were the wrong ones & I had to send them back.

#8487 3 years ago

just installed my topper & the door is stuck half open. guess i'm going to browse thru this thread to see what the topper fixes are that I saw mentioned before taking it apart.

#8491 3 years ago
Quoted from Jon9508:

Make sure it's not getting caught on the wires from the light above the bird.

thanks, will take a look now

#8492 3 years ago

This little bar that's connected to the raven & the door was bent & rubbing the door frame. I straightened it & the door closes almost all the way now. still only opening about 75% but at least it opens & shuts w/o getting stuck. I'm sure once I take then thing apart I'll be able to straighten it more & get it working all the way correctly

#8497 3 years ago
Quoted from cottonm4:

Take it apart and reverse the push rod. There are two small bushings that will fall out when you remove the push rod screws. Don't lose those. You will see what I mean.

sweet, thanks

#8513 3 years ago

Had to take the topper apart much further than I thought I would to get to the bar that connects the door to the raven. This is 1/2 way. I flipped & straightened the bar. The door is closed nice but still doesn't open all the way. It'll have to be good enough for now. I feel like it needs to be longer.

Got my blades installed & they look great!

I just checked the play counter & in the 3 weeks since we purchased Munsters new we've already put over 700 plays on it. Our 3rd owner Aerosmith is under 500. That's alot of quality quarantine time w/ the fam.

#8524 3 years ago
Quoted from cottonm4:

I know what I am in for. It is just such a pain in the ass. I got it mounted---for the third time. Now I shoot for #4.

taking it apart was much more than I anticipated BUT none of it was difficult & none of it was difficult to re-assemble. it was obvious where all the parts went.

#8554 3 years ago
Quoted from finplanner69:

So I have had my Munsters LE for about a month and a half. I bought it with just over 100 games on it and now it has well over 1000. I can just see me trying to sell it down the road...
"Yeh I know the game count looks like it was heavily routed but most of that is just me pitching a fit and ending the game when I lose the first ball too quickly." Sad but true.

we don't allow that kind of behavior in our house

about all the negativity in this thread, when shopping I almost let this thread talk me out of purchasing my Munsters Prem. I kept thinking, people really don't like this one & maybe I should look at something else. meanwhile, we love it. I tell my wife how you guys are still going on & on about how it's shitty, you've been deceived, code code code and we both wonder, what the fuck are they talking about. ac/dc takes me away from it but I keep going back and enjoy the hell out of it. I'm very glad I didn't let the negative posts in this thread throw me. I'm sure you think you're looking out for other members but you almost cost me a really fun game. I have mods come today for it & even though we expected this to be a hold us over till we can get Jurassic Park machine, my wife has decided we'll never get rid of it.

in total fairness, the negativity in this thread also helped me get a very good price for my machine so I guess I should also thank you for that.

#8685 3 years ago

Added some lights to my oversized Dragula. (I included a pic that shows the original car next to it for scale) I put a red at the engine, a white under the bubble & a green under the car.

Little Shop of Games has been out of their green 9 piece protector set for months. Any know where I can get a similar set?

Quoted from freddy:

The lower playfield is what intrigues guests.

i find this lower playfield to be a lot of fun, especially when I compare it to the acdc lower playfield which is boring. it's extra crazy when you get the multi ball on both the main & lower playfields a the same time & you have to use all 4 flipper buttons. it's neat & something different. also, the lower playfield isn't necessarily easy. people think of it as a little toy but can keep it running down there for a long time.

#11625 11 months ago

I have to clean the lower playfield. it seems foggy. in your opinion, is it best to drop out the playfield or pull the lens? I see people saying both ways.

#11626 11 months ago

well, I can answer my own question. removing the lower playfield was super easy. WHoel thing took only a couple minutes and that included figuring out what to do, removing it, cleaning it, & replacing it. I'm sure it's been said in this thread but it was hard to find buried in all the shit talk / sticking up for the lower playfield.

unplug these 3 quick disconnects
2023-04-29 14.26.58-marked (resized).jpg2023-04-29 14.26.58-marked (resized).jpg

use a nut driver to remove these 2 nuts & the 2 identical ones on the other side
2023-04-29 14.29.32-marked (resized).jpg2023-04-29 14.29.32-marked (resized).jpg

then it just lifted out. the mini pinballs sat on a ledge where the lens meets the playfield. when I put it back together, I dropped them into "The Machine". there's a cover there so it held them nicely while I position the lower playfield back into place.

about the lower playfield, though I think it's dumb on my AC/DC, I love it on this machine.

about cleanings the lens, totally worth it. night & day difference.

#11627 11 months ago

by the way, got the ball hung up on spot today. don't think I ever noticed it happen before. I couldn't shake it loose but eventually the machine closed spot & it was free.

Here's ho the Grandpa figurine turned out. I left he base & dremeled a couple slots in the bottom of it so it would slide over the original brackets that were holding the plastic. then I used some double sided tape in the front to hold it down. I had the file down his cape in the back a little so it didn't hit the plastic behind it. I spray painted the base to cover the name & the area in the back I filed. when I tightened the plastic behind it back down, I uses a small nut as a spacer to raise it a little & give me clearance.

we love our B&W Munsters. Pinsiders took a big shit on it early on which meant it was really cheap when I purchased it. we originally bought it to keep us busy while waiting for a JP (you couldn't get them then) & expected to sell it as soon as we had a JP on order but even after we had our JP, we couldn't let Munsters go. its a fun game. some say its too easy but not every game needs to be expert mode. sometime it's just fun to flip.

I wanted to thank Sam for our kitty. My wife decided Munsters needed a black cat & I remembered hd60609 made 1 & that he even had a version that worked w/ our current eyeball pop bumper cap mod. I searched on here for it only to find he was no longer selling them. I reached out to him & he agreed to run another batch!! it's really nice & exactly what we needed. she sits right over the kitty target & w/ the little podium, she's high enough that you can see her over the wireform
