Well first my dealer was supposed to be here yesterday at 4:00 pm, then 6:00 pm, then 7:00 pm, but, he finally made it! Number 16 is in the house! Got it set up last night about 10:00 pm. Played until I couldn’t see anymore. First impressions - this pin is awesome! I don’t know why hardly anyone would complain about anything, but to each his own. Shoots like butter, the shots are real fun and grandpa’s laboratory is the best lower playfield I have ever seen. Quite a few unique shots and crazy fun to play. I set my lower flippers to soft after trying hard and I totally agree that’s a better setting but I like the main flippers on default hard setting. The game is gorgeous - even better than I imagined, and the lower playfield is much bigger in person than I expected. I don’t see any shallow code yet but I’m only an average player. Maybe expert players might find the code shallow but so far I think this machine is an incredibly well designed and integrated system. Call outs, light show, video clips all seemlessly integrated. I love this thing! It’s a keeper for me. Definitely some hard drains and could not call this machine “easy” which is a good thing! Thrilled with the purchase. Lily and Dragula single targets didn’t bother me at all. I do have some dust on the lower playfield like others. Only complaint the lower ball install could have been designed much better.

Back to playing....

One note I forgot my shooting fork was not beveled. It sits atop the playfield. So far no ball launches into the air but wondering if I will have to make an adjustment to that. Also they guy in the picture is my dealer.

Indeed. Nice sense of humor 1956Pinhead!

Is it possible to get a replacement or is it only fixable via shaving it down?

Ditto. No issues, no modifications needed. Mine has Played great out of the box.

I would think so.

#1561 5 years ago

I heard that Premiums are going into production next week.

Quoted from JimB:

Well I’ve only had it a few hours but got about 15 games in so far and not noticing a problem with it. I have seen other posts where pro owners dremeled it down. I’m hopeful that is not needed.

#1563 5 years ago

Got Metallica Premium Thurs and getting Munsters LE Tuesday - super stoked - help makes working all these ungodly hours at the salt mine a lot more worth it.

Quoted from JimB:

Sorry I didn’t answer your question very well. I’m sure you could get a replacement part, but that wouldn’t change anything. It would simply be the same piece in the same spot. So if something needs to be done I’m assuming shaving down is the only option . Hopefully it’s just not needed.

Must be something up with these newer switches as I have seen quite a few of them break on recent sterns in the exact same way and it's not like they are moving around or anything that would cause them to break.

#1571 5 years ago

Not sure if its bc my game is getting broken in or something else but over the last few days its been destroying me..I'm lucky to start a 3 ball herman mb. I can't get anything going and its not being very nice... but i kind of like it lol.

Glad I'm not alone....went from getting my name up on about everything the first bit....now, after 82 plays, thing is kicking my ass...I think hitting Spot is one of the most satisfying shots on a machine currently..pretty tight and the ball always seems to have pace when he pops up.....it's like the damn game is just going to explode or something....

#1574 5 years ago

My wife has been playing the crap out of this game like no other before..especially when I showed her she can launch the ball with the "zap" button instead of the plunger. (she has carpel tunnel) and that helps her greatly in extending her playing time on it

Found these parts in my LE today. One screw was in the bottom of the cabinet and the other was on the playfield. The round metal piece was on top of the playfield. Does anyone know where it goes?

Thanks

You mean that’s not normal? I think all of my games are like that.

#1578 5 years ago

Len Amin Monday. I payed it a lot today and noticed the the glass looking into the lower playfield was not flush with the playfield and changes the ball path.

Anyone else have this issue?

Cant speak for Munsters LE, but ACDC Pre vault has the same lower pf design. You can adjust the height of the window to be flush using the small screws (Hex??). I had to add some of the small rubber washers under some screws to raise it a bit, but was an easy adjustment.

My ACDC is as good as flush now, but there will always be a small ridge there.

I played an LE yesterday that had this issue on occasion. Seemed to happen more when the ball was moving slowly. Window looked flush with the playfield.

#1582 5 years ago

Just took my window out today to get the dust and some ball marks off of it (anxious for my Titan order to arrive). Plastic is a great fit, and mine fits as close to flush as possible...doesn't alter ball path (yet). There are rubber washers under the screws, so you can kind of tweak it to get it perfect.

This machine compares very well w any NIB that I've bought or seen of late from a build standpoint..services rails coated, mini playfield is a serious mech, plywood bottom...a very solid machine....pleasantly surprised....

After owning a pro for a month I wouldn't pick it in competition. I hope that the lack of play it has gotten at the event makes stern take a serious look at the code and it's current state.

Fair enough....how's BM66 doing? Can tell you first hand that Munsters code out of the box smoked that one....quite a different story now...think new code is already in the pipe(?), but still having fun with it as is.....just me...

Why are these games picked?
For what? A competitive game?

It’s probably a bit new. I wouldn’t pick a new game that I haven’t had a lot of experience on. Need time to figure out strategies for scoring.
