Also from MustangPaul. Here in white for the b/w premium edition.
I think better then green for the b/w.

Nice now put in a white start button
I took out the coin box from my 'Premium' recently after 6 months or so. On top of the box was black powder / dust, along with what looks to be tiny metal fragments / powder on both sides of the coin box handles.
Thinking the metal could be from the flippers or slingshots. Has anyone seen this before ?

Had a look and your correct, coil stops on both are loose and worn. Will order new ones now. Thanks.

I totally agree with you.
I've left the club. It was one of my roommate's dream themes, but not mine, so I moved it on to someone who will appreciate it more. I have since replaced it with another John Borg masterpiece - Rush.

This pin is not for everyone, especially if you like deep code or music pins, but for me Chris Franchi's artwork can't be beat. Still the best looking Stern pin out there in my opinion. I've actually never watched a Munsters show in my life but the combination of great artwork, amazing shots/flow, horror theme, along with the unique B&W model makes this a keeper for my family. Throw in some canned laughter with the campy humor and you got a fun pin. "Don't be frighten. I'll protect you. What are you talking about? The thing. The horrible thing"

Agree completely. The B&W Premium is some of the best art ever!
Shame the code doomed it for so long, as it is really good now. But it has raised the value based on lower sales and I think long run the B&W Premium will be the one most sought after.

No doubt. My kids love Couch Potato. The trend I'm noticing on Pinside and some distributors I've spoken to is that the Premium (B&W) is hard to come by these days. No one seems to want to part with it anymore.
Btw, I think Franchi nailed it on the artwork on the Pro as well. Cabinet art looks great! Especially the left side.

if you like the callouts on the machine you need to watch the series. The good old all normal american Family struggling with life. I have watched it so many times. The Munsters Pinball is just a dream theme for me. Each Episode of the series is just over 20 Minutes, not much time wasted but it will enrich your life forever. The old Movies are fun too and in Color (for the pro and le users )

Agreed. I'll bet I've watched each episode 20+ times in a lifetime since it was on when I grew up in syndication. We watch the movies too every couple of years. Dream theme indeed.

I've watched some Addams Family episodes and found them pretty funny. How would you compare Munsters to Addams? Same kind of humor?
Quoted from JohnnyCage:I've watched some Addams Family episodes and found them pretty funny. How would you compare Munsters to Addams? Same kind of humor?
The 1960's Addams Family television series has very campy horror humor much like the Munsters. I truly wish that TAF was themed after the old television series instead of the 1991 movie.

tastes differ very much, but i do love the munsters much more than addams. Both series aired around the same time.
for me munsters is cheesier what makes it more attractive to me.
Please don't bash me about it.
For me Munsters are "Monsters" that just don't understand why they are different from all humans others around.
Addams are Humans that in way want to be special like monsters
But in general it's the humor of that time, both series are great and they did have a big impact on my life and with the pinball machines on my bank account
of course there is and was always some kind of rivalery between munsters and addams. Some do like both and some only love one side and hate the other.
I love both too. But for my money, The Munsters OG series is much funnier. It errs more on the side of funny and sticky situations. For sure more campy and wholesome too. Addams is a bit weirder and darker...still funny, but more on the macabre side. I use this term loosely as it isn't exactly scary. Also, as I see it, Addams seemed a bit more repetitive in terms of themes: visitors to the house being scared.
Whereas Munsters had more variety of story lines. I think I'm in the minority though. Most online polls have AF beating The Munsters.
Also IMO, Herman>Gomez, Lily>Morticia, Grandpa>Grandmama, but Fester>Marilyn (not in looks obvs). Addams kids and Eddie are roughly =.
Also I have had a Lawlor Addams pinball and a Munsters pin. Addams was much more groundbreaking for the time, but for ME it got boring quicker than my Munsters. I had Munsters and Addams for roughly the same time ~3 years, but when I had Addams we were in France and it was my only pin during expatriation. Still, if you said I could have only one or the other today, it'd be MUN no question.
MUN was a dream theme for me. Well executed (finally).
I'd love to see an OG Addams Family Series themed pin (vs Raul Julia movies). Based on the Wednesday series hype on NF, I think it could be good timing. I'd 100% buy it.
After saying all that I just went down and rang up a 444M score on MUN. Sadly I couldn't hit the scoop to start another Munster Madness and collect the extra ball! Grrtrt

Man, wouldn't that throw a monkey wrench into everything if Stern or Spooky created a B&W Addams Family TV series pin.
Yes, I'll check out some Munsters episodes tonight if possible. I'm long overdue for that any way. All those shows were before my time but tell me if I'm wrong, didn't Batman 66 "in color" basically knock both shows off the air? Ironically B66 is my second favorite Stern pin.
This might be a dumb question but what are super loops? It states super loops are lit but I don't see that on the playfield anywhere. I'm assuming since it's related to Marilyn's lost boyfriends that it's related to lighting Marilyn's ramp and hitting it multiple times in a row maybe?
Quoted from JohnnyCage:what are super loops?
The outer orbits are lit for a period of time for more points.
There's also SUPER SPINS. Lights the spinners the same way.

I would love to see someone make an Addams Family pin based on the original series, I think it would go great sitting next to Munsters. BTW, I like both series, I give Munsters the edge, but I like both series.

Anyone have the grandpa scoop switch break wires off like crazy? At this point I may have to make a whip and splice in a bigger gauge wire or hot glue it up
Quoted from northvibe:Anyone have the grandpa scoop switch break wires off like crazy? At this point I may have to make a whip and splice in a bigger gauge wire or hot glue it up
yes i have that too. You need to put some plastic glue on the little feet. this will stop to breaking. I think i wrote something a long time ago, let me search out the post.

a little drop of hotglue at the base of the metalfeet is the solution.
Hi all,
Does exist a compilation of different adjustments meaning in the service menu? (standard and features sub-menus)
I'd like to have all of them listed apart with their meaning, in order to review and prepare a good setup.
I miss the old pinball era, when theirs manuals have it written and I could configure my own setup (and write it down).
You can go to the Stern website to download a manual. Click on model of your Munsters machine to view settings / adjustments.
Man I still love my Munsters premium.
The other night my 7 year old grandson was playing and got Munster madness ready to go and said papa what do I do. So I showed him and when he got finished with Munster madness he said that was awesome papa I love this game he was having a blast.
Hey gang … I wanted to share this with my Pinside friends! I am getting married at the Hotel Conneaut (in Conneaut Lake, PA). It’s known as a haunted hotel so … I figured bringing The Munsters on free-play for everyone in the cocktail lounge would be appropriate! Haha!
(With a little honeymoon donation box of course)

Nice…..
Nice! Glad I found this topic. I do live this game - was my first pin, and the look of the game, art, and how well done the theme is…just awesome. Lately I’ve been putting some more work into it. Just got fluorescent green plastic protectors on (full set), about to add them to grandpas layer too, and decided I’d paint German to better match the artwork, as well as hand paint the Tesla coil mods. Here’s a few pics of the Herman/Tesla coils for kicks:
Hey,
What do you guys think about a new mod for grandpa’s machine??
The Tesla coils on top would flash blue on the “start the machine call out” also the three green fake round lights (decal) could be drilled out and replaced with real leds perhaps two green and one red flashing.
Unfortunately, I don’t have the means to do this. I know the machine is sold separately and still available. I will email some companies and see if anyone is interested in making a limited run.
If any of the modding companies see this message and are interested please PM me.

WoW… Nicely done! Herman looks great!
On our route munsters pro, the grandpa vuk broke again. The switch leg sheered off. I replaced the switch and a few weeks later, again it isn't registering. I even hot glued the wires on the legs. I haven't checked yet what broke, but does anyone else have a munsters on route with this issue constantly? I'm about to make a jumper of thicker wires on the switch, as the gauge wire they used was tiny.
