Quoted from parsonsaj:I have to wonder if there is a Plan C if (when?) the Whale and Mini-Whale plans fall through... perhaps 100 microWhales at $1k/each?
Dolphins. Wonder if this thread will make it to the goldfish level.

Quoted from NEW-B:Nobody is hating rich people, but there was definitely some humble brag in that post.
And? who gives a shit.
Not every person with money is oppressing you or an asshole. This hobby and board are full of people with money... its an expensive hobby. duh.
Dude wants to brag who cares... he's probably not even a whale nevermind a "big whale" in this OPs eyes anyways.
Wealthy folks didn’t get that way by pissing away $100k. Good luck. If you find your whale, good for you.
very odd scenario, trying to get money for a one only game.... ????
I remember years ago in the Heighway Pinball days you had a team of people in Canada doing a design / designs with Heighways sub assemblies but that seemed to have sunk with Heighway's Ferry.
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/heighway-announces-north-american-pinball-prototype-build-gr#post-2416141
And then over the years you did a few of the custom playfields but never saw complete games or game play with those custom playfields.
Sort of feels like Ballarama trying to sell a game with no details ??
Good luck with the venture - do you have any playfield design sketches / layouts to help migrate the whales to your feed zone?
In all fairness, he did provide backglasses and playfields that were not available. Checkered past on delivery but he shipped many. Colors were way off, but only game in town. Can drink more beer than many. Ended up bankrupt. Maybe this time around it will be different.
Holy shit this thread is up there in Pinside best of I'm sure. I'm barely a seal, more Koi unless I sell stuff. I'll do a lot for a 100k whale that's "interested". And not pinball. lol
Threads like this are why people like Ed Robertson stay incognito on Pinside.
John would be blowing up his inbox.
Quoted from gandamack:Um....John are sure you are not from Newfoundland?
Maybe the breakup of the Northwest Territories has something to do with this.....
Why not a team-up with Pinball Adventures. John, have you reached out to fellow countryman Andrew MacBain?
Do the 10 mini whales have to share the one game? Or is it going to be a gladiator style deathmatch to see who gets to keep it? Haven't seen that explained yet
Quoted from DBLM:I am willing to contribute $10 for the krill tier level on this machine. That is all this project is worth. Who’s with me?

I'm with you! This guy is a full on con man that is so deep into believing that his BS smells like roses that he is ready to sell his septic tank as a garden feature in his real estate listing.
Quoted from mrm_4:How are we 7 pages in with no customized GIFs yet
Gollum’s food choice was a tad smaller than whale sized.

Your logic and analysis is making sense and only making it worse. He’s not looking for that.

Quoted from ForceFlow:There are no strings on that guitar. That's hilarious.
Chya.....it's a no strings attached kind of deal!
This is not a con or scheme. It will play out for people to see for themselves. My grandmother was born in Paradise, NFLD & lived through the depression. Still have a lot of time for a whale to surface. If not on to plan B.

Are you making a baywatch part 2? Seems fitting with the whole whale chase. Comes with custom legs?
greatwichjohn I might be interested, depending on the offer. Do you have a business plan? Who gets to keep the pin in the end?
What is your process on aligning on a theme?
Quoted from greatwichjohn:Who knows, but any whale is not concerned about $100k if he is a multi millionaire.
In other words, the investor should not expect any return on his or her investment.
alright...that's it! Somebody has to create a Greatwichjohn pin. Several of these posts could be incorporated as callouts. People would piss themselves playing it!
Quoted from roffels:All these words about a license, not a single word about making a fun game.
People go nuts over licenses these days. It doesn't matter how a game plays
How can you be taken seriously when you come to people asking for money in a thread like this. Come on this has to be a joke. Also like many people said before calling someone a whale is offending. Rich people will tell you what to do when they hire you, not the other way around.
What Johnny sammich is really trying to raise money for.

Bullshit. Explain what you are building then. Who's designing the playfield? What's the operating system? What's the theme? Golden Girls? This thread should be locked as it's nothing but an attempted scam by a drunken fool. I'm sorry to say such a thing, but you really have given no explanation as to what you plan on doing. You're looking to maybe put together something that flips for as little as possible and then pocket the rest of the cash.
Lock it mods
Quoted from greatwichjohn:Yes it was lost with a bunch of other stuff. Sorry about that.
Only day 3 looking for the big whale investor. There are many out there, so time will tell this month. The person will get a detailed plan of the game. It is not drop $100k US into my lap. It will be performance goals. I am definitely serious to have a new pinball for March 2022. There is no problem bringing in the needed help for 1 game. Plan B is $10k US which is the next stage if the big whale is not found starting August 1.
Quoted from RyanStl:John, I wish you the best. However, are you the one behind the deeproot puzzle? It's all coming together.
OH. SH%T.

Actually this is the funniest damn thread I have read in awhile!

March 2022 ? Has to be BTTF2 !
First I thought this thread was just weird. Now, many pages later, its slowly turning into pure comedy gold. Keep them gifs and pics coming, this thread got real potential to soon compete with the imamaculate Baywatch thread.
Quoted from SantaEatsCheese:Does anyone know what the highest single pin confirmed pinball sale was?
Mrs. Spelling dropped a check for $175,000 to have a custom game made for her husband Aaron. Lethal Weapon 3 was on the line at the time and used it as a base model.
This was from Joe Kaminkow when he was at Data East Pinball.
This probably comes off ruder than intended, but anytime someone living paycheck to paycheck gets a lump sum of money, the money always seems to disappear before the finish.
They slowly eat at what they think would have been their profit eventually realizing they dont know how to run a business and manage large amounts of money.
Why anyone would throw $100k to this venture when they could just pay stern for the exact same thing and have it done 400x better.
That is your track record and you think you’re going to finish this project in 1 year on budget….. it DIES
Quoted from ForceFlow:There are no strings on that guitar. That's hilarious.
Kirk Douglas was just that good.
