Just picked this up. Backglass is busted, allegedly functional besides that.
For 100.00, I’d say it’s a score

Securing it so I can safely get it upright to have a look. Have not been able to see the playfield yet. This is literally how it’s been stored. Vacuumed out the broken backglass-unsalvageable

Quoted from CrazyLevi:

Probably a dumb question by why is it upside down?

Backglass is shattered, I think they wanted to keep it contained. Picked it up from a storage facility, and the guy didn’t want to make a mess, so that’s how we moved it. Waiting for my wife to get back to I can get it right side up

Quoted from HFK:

I have never seen a pin transported like that before. For $100 it would have to be a rotted empty cab to not be a good deal.

I’ve never seen a machine transported like that either. The ad picture was exactly the same lol. I will post as soon as I getter back on her legs

SOOOOO much glass, man! Haven’t drilled the coin box lock out yet. Apparently the keys are in the machine.
Playfield is alright, actually. Some wear up top, obviously. Beggars will not be chewzers.
Half tempted to plug it in, but I know I should look under the hood first

Got the kids all day, so I’ve got to wait til tonight to hit the machine again. Out of town the next two weeks on business.
Tried to get as far as I could last night, but I ran out of juice to pop open the coin box and have a look inside. I did quickly power up the machine though. All I got was some GI, was not surprised. There’s probably going to be a decent amount of work involved in getting the machine running. I guess time will tell if it will be worth it or not

Found a resistor that looks like it got hot as well as a couple transistors. I guess when I fuse it up we’ll see.
Also found a loose wire- does anyone know if it hooks up to the other side of that nearby resistor? Doesn’t really look stock to me. Got to download the schematics

Quoted from Bax1:

so that wire should be for the reset board. don't quote me on this but I think it goes to the other side of the resistor there in the pic.
Very nice score btw

Sure enough, after a couple power on’s, the fuse blew. I didn’t have any 5 amp slo-blos available, so I used 3 amp normal-blos- I could see why that may have had something to do with it.
I’m going to order the fuses, and look around at the caps/rectifiers.

As far as finding a back glass, I’m thinking I may be SOL

Quoted from ejg10532626:

I miss the days of scores like this.
Used to be we'd all find one of these every six-nine months or so.
Now - we're all lucky if it's once every 4 years.
The underneath of the playfield looks really good.
Good for you.

No joke. So many deals have slipped through my fingers.
I think there’s literally a 5 minute window between something getting posted and someone seeing it.
That ever elusive “project” Funhouse for free, amirite?

So I’m cleaning the playfield, The pop bumper mylars were essentially just floating there unattached to the playfield.
I’ve decided the best plan of action for this machine will be to “clean the playfield”, wax it, rebuild the flippers.
I’m doubtful I’ll find a backglass in the near future. Sent an email a week ago to bgresto to see if he had a pdf of the bg in stock. No reply.

I had a question, there’s wear on the upper playfield where the ball bounces around. I could just cover that area with Mylar in theory, right? I don’t want a paint touch up to appear in those lists that are floating around here, lol.
I’m essentially just going to get this machine going and see what to do with it. If I like it, I’ll keep it, if I don’t, I can turn around and sell a player, sans backglass.

All waxed up.
Waiting for my order to come in for the flipper rebuild parts, rubbers, Mylar etc..
Not gonna hold out hope for a backglass.

Perfect opportunity to mock up the cheesiest '80s wrestling image ever, print it on some kind of clear film, and get a piece of tempered glass cut to match.

I think you just gave me the BEST IDEA EVER!
