Make a reasonable offer, leave your contact info, and walk away. You'd be surprised how often you will get a call back a week or so later.

ditto. i've bought 4 machines in the last several months that way, all via CL. one guy was asking $1k for a machine that is worth maybe $700. I told him $600 to begin with and why I was willing to pay that and no more. Month later I got a call from the guy who said I could take it for $500. I also got him to pay for my gas to come back out and pick it up.

people think their POS is worth something for some reason. let them think that, make a real offer, and when no one bites on their outlandish wants, they will call you back. and if not, there will be other games you can pick up that are actually worth it.
