Mouser seriously has what appears to be dozens of the same thing, and I can't tell the difference.

Would these be the proper connector replacement for the .100 connections as seen on Classic Bally/Stern etc?

And yes, I prefer the IDC route!

Yea that would work. You need a good .100 punch tool. Great plains has them.

Are you sure markmon? That looks like a crimp connector vs IDC.

Well...after looking at the ones at PBL, that could be an IDC connector.

Pinball Life now carries them up to 12 positions.

Awesome, PBL didn't used to have them! Very Handy Same with Great Plains! Thanks everyone!

Not sure why but the AMP IDC kits have become more difficult to restock.

    Hmmm....
I never noticed before but AMP still makes a 28 pin, 0.1" IDC plug.
Pricey but available. Of course, I didn't notice until after I made this months connector purchase.

Maybe consider stocking both the 15- and 28-pin 0.1" IDC variety for use in classic Bally games?

Agreed a 20 pin + would be great, but they did seem pricey!

A Web search for Pancon's CE100F22-15[-C] and CE100F22-28[-C] turns up a few online suppliers that sell in quantities less than 100 pieces - www.onlinecomponents.com is one - but they have a $50 minimum order. They do have the white bodies which match the ones originally used. $1.68 each in single unit quantities is not bad at all.

One small gotcha, though; the original Panduit IDCs used by Bally are the black stripe variety, which using current color coding would be for 24 gauge wire.

I don't remember the wire sizes that went into the 28 pin plugs. These plugs are available in 22, 24, 26 and 28AWG.
That's the problem with IDC -- you need to match the wire size to the plug. With crimp connectors, you use the same plug for all sizes but vary the contact sizes which makes life far simpler.
