Is there an 18-20awg variant of .100 edge connector pins in order to get a good crimp when two wires need to be crimped together?

22AWG is the largest variation you will find from Molex. Not sure about other brands, though.

I tried looking up some of these on the digikey web site using their selection tool, the only ones I could find for larger gauge were for .156 pitch connectors, this allowed a search for multiple brands.

Can you crimp and then solder for solid contact?

The problem is that you can't get a very good crimp to begin with using two wires in a .100" 22awg pin.

I just pigtail and heat shrink down to one wire and then gor from there. I have found it to be clean and look nice when done.

Double crimping a .100" plug would be tough. Crimp one wire and they "Y" shape off of that.
