Yeah, gotta be big and loud for playing modern pins, so something like Olympus Has Fallen would be perfect. Godzilla movies from all generations would also be great. If you are playing slow EM's, totally different vibe. You can do the contemplative pinball movies:

I consider it the best traditional haunted house film! The Haunting is great! Those old B/W films are fantastic. Also love the Legend of Hell house with Roddy McDowell. Of course the original Sherlock Holmes with Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce too - The Hound of the Baskervilles

I typically have on ‘80s cartoons as part of the theme. G.I. Joe, Ghostbusters animated series, Thundercats, TMNT, Smurfs.

For some reason at pinball league, for YEARS we had Roadhouse on a tv somewhere. Someone would bring a copy on dvd just in case the host didnt have it. Not sure how that tradition started but it slowly faded away.

My wife and I play different Marvel movies when were in the mancave and just let them run, so when she's not playing pins she can watch the movies. Then I typically plug in my headset to the pin I'm playing so we get the best of both worlds.

I think it really depends - if you are playing the classic SS era - early 80s, there isn't much in callouts to miss. And no distracting videos, DMDs, etc.. Just pure pinball. Same with EMs. Really, it would only be the newest pins that would compete regularly - not withstanding pins like Roadshow where there's a lot of dialogue. But think of playing movies as a background thing - you aren't actively watching it, but it's there.
