I'm a big fan of games that, by design, are brutal and fast...and can be set-up to be be even nastier, resulting in average game times that are insanely short. Games like Iron Man, F-14, BSD (w/lightning flippers). There are times I step-up to Iron Man and can rip-off 5-6 games in 10 minutes.

I know you've all been there.

Thought it would be fun to compile the ultimate list of the fastest players ever made. I'll keep a list going in the second post.

TWD,

#5 8 years ago

Fish Tales can be pretty brutal.

#6 8 years ago

I can turn a lot of games into 1 minute games. The more I drink the faster I drain.

#7 8 years ago

You're dead on with F14. Got rid of mine because no one enjoyed it !!

#9 8 years ago

Big Daddy. If you go a minute you are farting thru velvet.

#10 8 years ago

Walking dead fast games? Design alone it stays in the pops too long for that.

#11 8 years ago

Funny... I think of JM being very fast... but game times usually aren't over quickly.

#12 8 years ago

Tron

I've only ever played about 30 min on one... didn't seem to be a quarter killer. Others chime in?

#14 8 years ago

.

#16 8 years ago

Yes

Paragon too...so many house balls

#17 8 years ago

Tron & TWD may be "fast playing games," but they are not "game over fast." I don't want to get too "o-din'y" here but ball saver alone adds time.

Fireball can cut your throat in under a minute

#18 8 years ago

My Skyline is brutal. Anywhere near the slings and you can kiss your ball goodbye. 4 outlanes and 2" flippers don't help much.

Half the time you don't get to hit the ball out of the pops
300 games on mine in 1 week. average game time game 3.02
IM 1230 plays average game time 2.28
WW 855 plays average game time 2.02

#20 8 years ago

Doubt we'll see any Gottlieb Sys 3 on here...

#21 8 years ago

I guess, turn the ball save off on IM & TWD and see how you go

Ha...depending on setup that's true! Don't have any issues on the one I play.

You know WW going to be low with no ball save.

I think on a really hard machine I could play 1 ball longer than a full game of Fireball.

#23 8 years ago

How has no one mentioned shadow yet? Miss the left ramp and it is almost certainly SDTM. Same with hitting the lock shot wrong, or even the battle field shot (the drop target that leads to the vuk).

#24 8 years ago

Iron man
walking dead
lost world Jurassic park
fireball
x files
fish tales
junkyard
revenge from mars
America's most haunted

#25 8 years ago

Gorgar!

True. Fast player for sure but the glove and Crazy Bob may slow things down.

#27 8 years ago

IM
Avengers
AC/DC

All of them... kick me in my balls

#28 8 years ago

Pin*Bot.
Once played a quick game, 3 balls, didn't even get to use the left flipper. 82,000 points.
Lots of Frustrating Fun.
After a quick cuss, I promptly reached down and shut it off, then went and played a different pin.

#29 8 years ago

Bally Eight Ball 1977. We call it "The Equalizer" on league nights. It settles all disputes.

#30 8 years ago

Gottlieb Chirpin Crickets

#31 8 years ago

Look if we really truly want sub 1 minute games, there can be only one

EDIT: Don't be fooled by the 1:17 running time...it's set to 4 balls.

#32 8 years ago

Taxi, especially multiball is usually measured in seconds!

#33 8 years ago

Always got my a** kicked on Firepower. Passed it along as nobody enjoyed the brutal beating

#34 8 years ago

Ted Nugent. So insanely basic and hard. I've played it a lot since recently getting it and it's really improved my playing on my modern games like KISS and Metallica.

#35 8 years ago

IF you get rolling on Dragon it can play long! You just have to forget about drop catches!

#36 8 years ago

Question? Do you consider disabling the ball save timer?

I'd be sunk without ball save timer but I've been shortening my timer to 7-8-9 seconds and opening my outlanes on the side I consider safer.

#37 8 years ago

Eight ball deluxe has to be on any list of games with short game times.

#40 8 years ago

Take the ball saver off on The Getaway and it can really kick your ass. I can play F14 forever.

#41 8 years ago

Trade Winds.

Dolly Parton

#43 8 years ago

Walking dead premium and bsd are my 2 top short ball time pins by far. Sometimes Metallica can be evil depending on sparky

#44 8 years ago

Quite a few EMs on the list...

Quite a few EMs on the list...

Most of the older two inch flipper games don't last very long. These are IMO the best games for competition as you don't have to wait very long for your turn and it stays interesting for everyone involved.

#47 8 years ago

EMs should almost always be at the top of the list. Anyone whoms ever been in a league or tourney knows that.

#48 8 years ago

Atlantis

#49 8 years ago
Quoted from 27dnast:

From a location side, the Sys3 games I have routed are the fastest games played.

Data over a 7+ month period.

SF2 - 1:10
Que Ball - 1:12
Super Mario - 1:50
TWD Pro - 2:18
MET Pro - 2:09
KISS Pro - 2:13
IM - 1:47
ST Pro - 2:57
TSPP - 1:56
AFM - 2:73

Crescendo. 2" flippers with a HUGE gap, no active slingshots or inlanes, hard shots to return to upper half of playfield that require you to shoot crosswise across the playfield or through pinball sized gaps between star posts, TWO paragon-ish "beast lair" pop bumpers...one on the left, one on the right, and guess what..there's no rubber on one side of the outlanes so if it even STARTS to go down there, forget about shaking it back up. And if you get real lucky and plunge either of the lanes to the side of the middle top rollover lane on my specific game, it's a house ball, because it goes right through the posts, doesn't touch the pop bumpers, and SDTMFM.
