JJP has a hit on their hands with Guns N’ Roses. In fact, GnR is such a hit that JJP was not prepared for the CE to sell out.

JJP has hitherto targeted family friendly titles. With GnR showing them that more mature themes are desired by collectors, will this cause JJP to start targeting more mature themes? Will JJP see the allure of music pins and go after Metallica and AC/DC? Doesn’t matter that those themes were done a decade ago, a new Metallica and new AC/DC would sell like hot cakes if done well.

Toy Story is heavily rumored to be next. While I know Toy Story has its fans (heck, I enjoy the Toy Stories franchise), it’ll probably sell about like Willy Wonka did. JJP may start looking at other themes that Stern did in the past for a redo (Stern just did this with Avengers). Game of Thrones? South Park? Simpsons?

What themes would you like to see JJP secure? How about something all new like Witcher?

    Quoted from Goronic:

I would like to see JJP tackle a major modern video game theme like:
    - World of Warcraft (my pick if I am being honest)
    - Halo
    - League of Legends
    - Gears of War
    - Call of Duty
    - or a Nintendo theme
Music and Movie based pins are the norm for sure...but I would just like to see a different type of theme.

How about a hybrid: Resident Evil. Tons of high quality movie assets with incredible visuals, an adult theme, solid following.

If they do a Nintendo theme, it really needs to be Zelda.

    Quoted from Black_Knight:

Not even 5 days after a major JJP release and everyone is already looking forward to rehashed stern titles.

Now that JJP has really shown us what they are capable of, the enthusiasm is awfully high (along with expectations). JJP games have always been good, but seeing what they did with a more mature theme has me hoping for something like Game of Thrones...possibly based on the books but with the actors doing voice work...

    Quoted from Ericpinballfan:

Ive got money the next JJP title is....
    Drum roll.......
The "Slash Edition" CE 2.0. Same pizazz. All black armor, different art, different topper.
    Open edition, 12,500, no signature.
Might see this sooner than you think.

Yes, I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if another collector edition version of GnR wouldn’t be the “next JJP game”.

    Quoted from Eskaybee:

I think one of the biggest questions that needs to be asked is: can JJP handle this much demand? From the distributors I’ve spoke with, JJP is overwhelmed on the amount of orders they got for GNR. So much that JJP is not giving their distributors clear answers on when they’ll get their games. And JJP’s track record is not good for getting games out in a timely manner.

Yes, this is a huge question. How many games a week can JJP push out the door? Any one know? If not many it could be a long time before we see the next game.

    Quoted from Jaybird815:

Law, I hope you guys didn’t get hit to hard by this last hurricane, Louisiana has taken a beating this year!

It’s been tough. We evacuated to Houston but the word from our neighbors that road out the storm isn’t good. DAD8DF7A-8E92-4ABE-865F-BA0D845C0E9B (resized).jpegDAD8DF7A-8E92-4ABE-865F-BA0D845C0E9B (resized).jpeg

    Quoted from Krupps4:

How about a pin that is Chapter based rather than mode based that saves your progress? The chapters would be much more robust than modes and depending how you do in one chapter may lead you to one of three chapters next for example. Kind of like a choose your own adventure scenario. It would take a lot of programming, but it would be all programming. That would syncs up with something like a Dungeons and Dragons.

This is a great idea. I worry it would impact re-playability to some extent (people complain about RFM lacking replay value for this reason, though I strongly disagree with them). It certainly would open up doing games like Zelda or D&D justice.

    Quoted from BrewinBombers:

I think that means we should expect multiple editions of JJPGNR in various colorways for awhile.

I think this is the most likely next game...a new edition of GnR. Seems like GnR is going to be run for a long time with this demand.

With the old rumor that JJP had The Godfather license, I’m worried their next theme will be Godfather 3…seriously…

Another question is whether JJP will release two games next year. I think they actually might pull it off next year. Anyone know how many games they make a day?

    #147 1 year ago

I wonder if it is JJP that snagged Sonic the Hedgehog, we know it was not Stern.

    #157 1 year ago
    Quoted from JWJr:

As long as it isn't just Matrix 4...

Right now, i would say there is a moderate risk JJP would secure Matrix 4, if they were going after the matrix license. After the Toy Story situation who wouldn’t think that is a legit risk? It certainly is not zero risk…

A Matrix pin on the original movie or original trilogy would do very well.

    Quoted from Charles_Kline:

Why are folks thinking JJP is going to do BTTF and not Stern?

There were some inferences that Stern did not in fact have the BTTF license wrapped up. Given the demand for the title the assumption is JJP may have it. What is Elwin working on currently? If it is not BTTF then perhaps JJP does have the license.

My guess is JJP has Sonic. I have absolutely no inside info on this, just a guess that Eric wanted the license.

    Quoted from CoachBacca:

Prediction: JJP starts making a new machine sooner than that, not because they are becoming more efficient or anything like that but because they have more problems moving toy stories than any pin they have made before.

I think they sold over $30,000,000 of product in a day or two. Toy Story might not outsell WOZ or GnR but it will move a significant number of units.

All the same, I do think JJP is going to start releasing games more frequently. Maybe not two a year, but perhaps one every 9 months or so. Three games in two years would be awesome JJP and is attainable.

I filled out the JJP questionnaire today, I’m glad they circulated that and sought feedback. I took my time and gave them some detailed answers, I hope everyone takes the time to do the same.
