Hmmm... big figures are big.

#73 11 years ago

Just a note on the art, it seems to be a mish-mash of different comic book artists. The Wolverine on the LE cab art is Jim Lee for example.

And what happened to the steel ramps?

Hopefully the QR Code idea works out a little better this time..

Quoted from TZBen:

I'm sure we will get a good amount of feedback from LE purchasers which will give a good indication of play on the pro version (the one I would purchase).

The only problem with that is everyone who owns the LE will be terribly biased and say it's the cat's ass regardless

Quoted from Nibbles:

Stargate V2? <img src="/bbpress/my-plugins/bb-smilies/pinside/icon_thinking.gif" title="">

LOL I was thinking the same thing with the raising bash target!

#127 11 years ago

I'll see what I can come up with for a replacement toy for Wolverine.

The Magneto one looks alright though.. depends on how much it obstructs the ramp.

Quoted from RC_like_the_cola:

I'm not too familiar with Emma Frost, but I see she appears on the bad guys side in this instance. Hot comic women FTW.

She's the White Queen..

She was in X-Men: First Class (January Jones' character)

#166 11 years ago
Quoted from Rarehero:

Why use AFM as an example? There's almost NOTHING on that playfield. I know people love it, but it's very simplistic.

Agreed.. I found it kinda boring, actually. The art and sound is top notch though..

Quoted from toyotaboy:

Stern's greatest profit maker ever, aftermarket clear ramp replacements.. They're going to be selling a ton of them as they break from stray flying balls.

Actually these ones seem to have metal protectors where Tron did not..

#213 11 years ago
Quoted from bemmett:

Would be sweet, call Stern up, time to scrap the game and redo it all! <img src="/bbpress/my-plugins/bb-smilies/pinside/icon_smile.gif" title="">

That wouldn't make much sense since it's supposed to be Iceman's "ice trail" and all

#355 11 years ago
Quoted from goatdan:

The LE version doesn't seem photoshopped to me

Sure it is! The Hero LE is a Wolverine cover from 1997

Actually all the artwork seems to be a Photoshopped mish-mash of old art from many different artists. Still looks good though, but it would've been nice to see some original O'Connor art on there

Whadoyamean Iceman who!

Quoted from RobT:

These comparisons of shot layouts with older games is really getting old. There's no point to it.

I find it kinda interesting myself... I could see the resemblance, but nowhere NEAR Tron vs. Funhouse. That was an embarassingly blatent rip-off (I still prefer and OWN Tron though).

#380 11 years ago
Quoted from RobT:

Heh. You actually helped prove my point. There is no point in making these comparisons. Tron plays NOTHING AT ALL LIKE FH.

Well yeah, layout is only part of the equation... it's all about the ruleset too. But as a pure shot and component layout comparison, they're about 90% the same.

#384 11 years ago
Quoted from goatdan:

No, sorry -- Someone was referring to the LE elements of the playfield being 'photoshopped' onto the playfield. That's what I disagree with.

Ohhhh sorry, my mistake. I misread you.

#432 11 years ago
Quoted from TomGWI:

Looking at the pic, it is going to be really hard for that ramp to move if the playfield spotlight is in the way.

Ahhhh yes, good eye! It makes sense now that these are Photoshopped for sure..

That said though I'm betting the plastics will still have the holes that Swinks mentioned. It doesn't make sense (cost wise) for them to run two sets of plastics.
