I dont remember Magneto every being blue and red. Wasnt he always red and purple??
I swear, this is like the same reaction AC/DC first got when they released pics....
Then, everyone gets the game and says it's the greatest thing since Jesus or bacon.....
Deja Vu.

LOL I was thinking the same thing with the raising bash target!
canceled my deposit on the villain, I like the looks of the pro cab better! The game looks great but the extra money for the LE just doesnt seem worth it
Quoted from Pinchroma:Those toys look like they came out of a happy meal. They are HUGE and take up a ton of real estate. I realize they are custom molded (or so it has been said here) but honestly they are REAL bad.. was expecting something like this..
I have to agree with this. They look rather cheesey
The cabinet art is outstanding(possibly the best I have ever seen), wish they would have had more art(characters) on the playfield. I also like the pro version better. Wolverine and Magneto figures are way too big, I like the ramps. I can't wait to play it!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wonder what the UK price on the LE's will finally be? Probably well over $10000 by the time her majesty gets her cut.
I like the cabinet artwork on the PRO best also. In this case, the PRO looks like it will be pretty good and a lot of fun. I don't think the PRO will be better. The pop up toys will be a nice feature and they will not always be popped up blocking flow. It will add some variation to the game. The moving ramp looks neat. In its stock position will play pretty much like the PRO but the ability to move it or have it move based on "things" will be interesting.
Still, I'm in for a magneto LE and am glad. I think the game looks awesome. The game looks like it will be fast and have some decent flow.
I am a bit worried about the IJ4 like pop bumpers off ball plunge. On IJ4, it was extremely frustrating for the plunge of the ball to miss every pop bumper, head straight down the middle, ball saver hits, same thing, onto bonus never hitting the ball. Same thing may happen here. Hard to tell without playing though.
There are a lot of really close up shots, which tend to be cheap ball drainers. Same thing was true in Ironman, but at least the monger wasn't up 100% of the time. I think I would have preferred it actually if the pop bumpers were actually eliminated and wolverine was put in that area.
The artwork looks really great on all versions. The playfield artwork is very nice. I love the plastic ramps - like them way more than wire ramps or metal ramps to be honest. When kept clean, they're so nice and you can get some neat lighting effects shining through them.
Anyone know if the LE will have the 12" sub? I'm guessing not since it wasn't listed.
As far as game mods, I think we'll be seeing mods or even replacements to the big characters. Also the pop up guys just being flat printed plastic needs something. Not sure what. Perhaps a 3d figure behind plexiglass? Will be interesting to see how that's made. May be impossible. If its just a flat picture, it would have been better for it to have been drop targets like cactus canyon / 24 with the decal on it I think.
Will be interesting to see how the spinner reacts with gameplay. All-in-all I'm quite excited for this game.
As for WoZ, I ordered this and WoZ. I think this will be more fun to be honest. Looks like will have some great flow. WoZ does not. I think WoZ looks more impressive but this looks more fun.
Correct me if I am wrong here but none of these pictures are actually showing the Pro playfield at all are they?! All of them appear to be LEs
After looking at the high res shots, side by side, I actually really like the cabinet on the Wolverine LE. Even though Wolverine is dominant on both sides, they do mix up with Collossus, Phoenix, Cyclops, Angle and Nightcrawler on right, Gambit, Storm Rogue and Professor X on left, so good representation of the heroes. I think the cabinet overall looks cleaner and less cluttered than the pro.
I am having a problem with the head/translite. Would rather have heroes on the head rather than claws, and all the heroes on backglass rather than just Wolverine.
I guess the question will be whether or not the movable ramp, spinning magnet, nightcrawler pops and light show will be worth living with the head/backglass. Wonder who much it would be to by the Pro head decals and glass and replace the LE at some point.
Reminds me a little of SM with the two ramp shots and BDK with moving crane/ramp......which could be really good...
Well, glad I'm not an Xmen comic book fan....I'll see what's next from Stern, I'm sure we'll get another one in 60 days!
The pro artwork looks much better to me than the other two......GL to the buyers...
Just checked out high rez images and blew them up. Toys are so so. Magneto is better and may be ok with a custom paintjob. Wolverine ...not so good. Even though the claws look pretty thick...they may break. I also like the cabinet art on the Pro better. I don't mind the moving ramp...could be cool. $8,000 ! Oy!
Good thing they sold out before releasing the pictures. Sorry to be a hater but this thing just looks like a goofy toy with those huge 2 cartoony figures. I love the cabinet art, why didn't they take that style to the Playfield????!!!!
In a way I am glad though - don't have to sell a game to make room.
I love the art on both LEs. I am sticking with the Wolverine LE, personally. The toys are pretty gaudy, but that is the only thing I don't like. Sure, it would have been nice to have molded Nightcrawler trolls, but look at the cannon on AC/DC LE. Not too sure how cool that moving ramp is going to end up being. Looks fairly worthless right now, but it could be integrated into something cool with software.
I bet the toys look fine in person. Ac dc face is fine in person.
Funny thing, we all wanted custom toys instead of Walmart toys. We get them and ................
Pinball is awesome right now!
It doesn't look like replacing the Wolverine will be easy, since his entire waist is the bash target. Custom paint job or even a dry brush/shoe polish job might be the only way to really improve the look of these toys...

This is probably the best post in this entire thread....
I'm not even in the market for this game, just say'in.
I'll see what I can come up with for a replacement toy for Wolverine.
The Magneto one looks alright though.. depends on how much it obstructs the ramp.
Wow, guys. I'm out. The big dolls don't work for me at all. The playfield artwork is a bit disappointing. Hard to judge the Nightcrawler feature without playing. The "X"s the two ramps make is kinda cool. All-in-all, the whole package is a bit of a bummer for me. Maybe its a player and I'll pick one up later.
are the toys any bigger than on cactus canyon or champion pub? every time stern comes out with a new game and gives us pinheads what we ask for we trash it before anyone has seen it in the flesh and or played it. after playing ac/dc i was amazed. the game is amazing. if x men is anything near as good its gonna be awesome.

Welcome to the hobby, there all big goofy toys. Just enjoy!
I need to see gameplay videos, hear the sound, and see the lighting. These pics I fear just don't do it justice. I will admit my gut instinct was to cancel my deposit, but after constantly looking at the playfield pics, and cab pics, I think I'm just going to stick it out. Seems like the best decision, and in all honesty, what's the worse that could happen? The only thing I'd hate is that everyone jumps ship on their LE orders and the price drops an insane amount after release. I don't care for other's opinions, I'll be happy as long as I like the game. If Xmen doesn't work out, there will always be something else.
I'm thinking as long as the wolverine toy doesn't do anything but register hits there will be a lot people scouring the infowebs for replacement wolverine figures.

I cancelled mine because of the toys Bri.. they look a bit too chinese lead paint plastic to me.
I really wanted more girls in the art and thats on the Pro : (
Really wanted to switch down from the LE for that but I am going to trust Mnpinball on this game.
What is sterns obsession with criss-crossing the ball in LE's? The ball diverter on AC/DC is ugly and on this it looks like a distraction. Whatever happened to getting the ramp shots yourself rather than the machine provide them for you?
I'm happy with the pics of all the models. I have an LE good guys on order and after seeing these pics I'm excited to proceed with my order and get it in the house.
What were you guys expecting? The game looks like it just came out of a comic book and looks freakin sweet cause of it!!
If you dont like it, Wait it out and get another movie based theme I guess.
Looks to me like the pro has the spinning disc and magnets. The main gameplay differences appear to be the raise up targets and moving ramp. Pro could be pretty fun for the price.
Quoted from Pinballer22:No shaker in the LE...thought for sure they would. Didn't ACDC have shakers form the factory?
Acdc LEs were way more expensive. This is priced closer to acdc premium which had no shaker. I'll be buying one myself.
1) What is the advantage of the left flipper shot with the ramp moving the ball to the left side? Looks to me like most of the "big shots" will be made with the right flipper.
2) Will you be able to control the ramp with the flippers and decide the movement of the ramp from right to left?
I'm not too familiar with Emma Frost, but I see she appears on the bad guys side in this instance. Hot comic women FTW.
I can't believe people are cancelling b/c the "toys" look "cheap".... You know, there's a ton of games out there with expensive cool toys, that just aren't that fun to play. Really, you can't judge this thing until you play it. Just crazy....
I'm on the fence, I have mixed feelings about the art, but this is supposed to be based on the comics and I think it has that look. I'm in for a wolverine LE, I like the magneto art but man it's just too much in my face red/pink/purple. I don't so much mind the big toys. I think flipper fidality will be able to make some really cool backbox led kits to get those colors popping.
Quoted from system11:Looking at the playfield, it's a bit crowded - that bash toy is in the way of at least 45 degrees of spinout angles from the disc.
sold TOTAN, have to say I disliked that Lamp as it just was too close and blocked my shots.
anyone think Wolverine too close and takes up 30% of the possible shot angles?
